Abstract

The aim of this research was to know the effect of additives EM4 and palm sugar on the characteristics of elephant grass (Pennisetum purpureum) silage. This research was designed using a 2 x 2 factorial experiment with completely randomized design. Results showed that the additives EM4 and palm sugar give a good influence in the characteristics of elephant grass silage include; smell, taste, color, and texture. There is no interaction between the use of additives EM4 and palm sugar in making of elephant grass silage. Key words : Elephant grass, silage, palm sugar , additives

Abstract

The aim of this research is to know the effect of egg curing duration on salt egg organoleptic test, to know the influence of salt level to salt egg organoleptic test, and interaction between curing duration and salt amount to organoleptic test of salted egg. This study was conducted using a complete randomized design using two factors, namely the duration of curing time (A) and the level of salt amount (B). Parameters observed included taste, color, smell / aroma, and texture of salted eggs using panelist assessments. The results showed that the organoleptic test of salted egg samples on flavor, color, aroma, and texture had no effect, while the interaction had significant effect.

Abstract

The study aims to determine the pattern of broiler meat consumption and to know the effect of education, income, and number of family members on broiler meat consumption patterns of households in Bereng Kalingu I Kereng Bangkirai village, Palangka Raya. This descriptive study was to survey, interview by distributing questionnaires. Results of the 50 respondents there were 19 respondents educated diploma/bachelor, 33 low income respondents between Rp 1,000,000 - 2,000,000, 25 respondents had 2 - 3 family members. Variable of education, income, and number of family members do not affect on consumption pattern of broiler meat.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of various protein levels of BR1 mixed feed, yellow corn, and cassava flour on weight and percentage of super free-range chicken giblets. The implementation of this research took place at the practice location of the Faculty of Animal Husbandry, Christian University of Palangka Raya, Jalan G.S Rubay Palangka Raya. This study used a completely randomized design (CRD) with 5 treatments with 4 replications, namely Treatment A = Feed with 20% protein content, Treatment B = Feed with 19% protein content, Treatment C = Feed with 18% protein content and Treatment D = Feed with protein content of 17%. From the results of the stud, it was shown that the various levels of protein levels mixed with BR1, yellow corn, and cassava flour did not have a significant effect on the weight and percentage of giblets in Joper chickens. Abstract

Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh penambahan ekstrak daun salam (Eugenia polyanta Wight) terhadap kulitas uji organoleptik telur asin. Pelaksanaan penelitian ini bertempat di lokasi praktik Fakultas Peternakan Universitas Kristen Palangka Raya Jalan G.S Rubay Palangka Raya. Penelitian ini menggunakan Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) dengan 4 perlakuan dengan 5 ulangan yaitu Perlakuan A = tanpa Ekstrak Daun Salam, Perlakuan B = Ekstrak Daun Salam (1 kg daun salam : 4 liter air), Perlakuan C = Ekstrak Daun Salam (2 kg daun salam : 6 liter air) dan Perlakuan D = Ekstrak Daun Salam (3 kg daun salam : 8 liter air). Dari hasil penelitian terlihat bahwa berbagai level ekstrak daun salam tidak berpengaruh terhadap kualitas uji organoleptik telur asin.
