Abstract

Lindi merupakan salah satu penyebab pencemaran air di sekitar TPA. Lindi adalah cairan yang telah melewati sampah dan mengekstraksi material terlarut dan tersuspensi yang sangat halus dari sampah yang ditimbun di TPA, mengandung sejumlah zat-zat kimia beracun, bakteri patogen, senyawa organik dan konstituen lainnya yang terlarut dan tersuspensi di dalam tanah. Hal ini menyebabkan kandungan logam dan material organik dalam lindi sangat tinggi, seperti Fe 19,205 mg/l dan nitrit 1,48 mg/l. Pada penelitian ini akan dilihat penurunan konsentrasi Fe, nitrat dan konsentrasi nitrit pada lindi TPA Piyungan dengan proses elektrokoagulasi – sedimentasi dan filtrasi menggunakan elektroda tembaga dan aluminium. Dengan variasi dosis tawas (1500 ppm dan 2000 ppm) dan waktu kontak (25 menit, 50 menit, 75 menit dan 100 menit). Hasil dari penelitian ini didapatkan efisiensi penurunan terbaik 84 % untuk parameter Fe, 77 % untuk parameter nitrat dan 97 % untuk parameter nitrit pada bak filtrasi dengan koagulan tawas 1500 ppm dan waktu kontak 25 menit. Efluen hasil elektrokoagulasi bila didasarkan pada baku mutu kualitas air golongan empat PP. No. 82 Tahun 2001 nilai konsentrasi Fe, nitrat dan nitrit sudah memenuhi baku mutu dipersyaratkan yaitu konsentrasi Fe sebesar ≤ 5 mg/l, nitrat sebesar 20 mg/l dan nitrit sebesar 0.06 mg/l.Kata kunci: Elektrokoagulasi, Filtrasi, Lindi, Sedimentasi

Abstract

Palm Oil Mill Effluent treatment produces sludge as byproduct. The sludge produced will cause problems for environment if there are no actions and treatments taken toward the sludge. The purpose of this research is to reduce the pollution of palm oilmill effluent with aerob composting methods using sludge, boiler ash and palm oil fiber. The instrument used is a simple composter with 60 cm height and 30 cm diameter. The sludge is mixed with boiler ash, fiber and organic waste, and then EM-4 was added as an activator. This research used the addition of 0,7 % EM-4activator, with variations of stack’s height are 40, 45 and 50 cm to find out the optimal height to achieve thermophylic condition and the quality of the compost produced. The result of this research shows that compost with 50 cm stack’s height reached the highest temperature of 47,30C. The quality of the compost produced meets the SNI’s 19-7030-2004 requirement. The compost is mature at the 21st day with result Rasio C/N= 12,2. The conversion of palm’s oil sludge into compost can beused as an alternative in utilization waste into valuable product.Keywords: boiler ash, compost, EM-4 activator, fiber, palm’s sludge

Abstract

The increase in vehicle ownership causes transportation activities to increaase. The tendency to increase the number of motorized vehicles operating, will add to the burden of traffic one example is the increase in noise intensity. This study aims to map the pattern of noise distribution and to determine the level of noise that occurs in Jenderal Sudirman street Pekanbaru city by taking data in the form of noise data and several other traffic variables such as vehicle volume and speed. This research was conducted using a Sound Level Meter (SLM) and with a noise mapping method for 2 days, namely on Monday which represents peak hours and Saturdays which represent vehicle quiet hours. The results showed that from 180 measurement points the highest noise level was 97.9 dB which was a point with high traffic volume and the lowest noise level was 68.4 dB which had low traffic volume. Comparison of noise level with KepmenLH No.48 / MENLH / 11/1996 quality standard results obtained 4 points in the Sukaramai Market. Noise mapping using the ArcGis 10.3 software program.From this study it can also be concluded that the greater the volume of the vehicle, the vehicle speed will be lower so as to produce a high noise level, and vice versa so that the volume of the vehicle is directly proportional to the noise level, while the vehicle speed is inversely proportional to the noise levelKeywords: Noise, Traffic, Jenderal Sudirman Street

Abstract

Wastewater from the textile industry has adverse effects on the environment if disposed of into the waters without any processing. Naphtol is one of the sources of pollutant wastewater coloring batik. Electrocoagulation is one of the alternative method of processing wastewater textiles. This research aims to know the efficiency decreased levels of COD and TSS contained in wastewater through the process electrocoagulation. Research carried out in batch by using aluminium as electrodes that size 17cm by 17cm x 3cm. The size of the reactor electrocoagulation is 30cm x 25cm x 25cm, 1 cm electrode spacing and waste from Volume 10 L. The voltage used was 10, 15, and 20 volts and then sample taken on 15, 30 and 45 minutes while electrodes from the electricity. The analysis showed a decrease in concentration on the parameters of the tested where the span of the efficiency of the allowance for a maximum range of the COD (80-00, 98, 20 %) and TSS (90, 83 % - 95, 83 %). This condition occurs at the time of tension 20 volts in 45 minutes. Based on the Anova to use SPSS.16, found that the voltage and time factor affecting the decrease in the concentration of 94.8% COD and TSS 93.1%. Abstract

The construction of hotels is so rapid today will bring a significant effect on the environment. Ultrafiltration membrane is one of wastewater treatment technologies, but membranes have limitations such as the occurrence of the phenomenon of concentration polarization and fouling. The research objective of this study the effect of variations in transmembrane pressure against the rejection percentage BOD5, COD, TSS, and the effect of variations in transmembrane pressure, concentration of washing of the efficiency and effectiveness of washing the membrane. the concentration of the washing of the efficiency and effectiveness of washing the membrane. The process of ultrafiltration membranes and membrane chemical washing wastewater at the hotel do with variations in pressure of 0.5 bar , 1.5 bar , and 2.5 bar. Variation of chemical cleaning agent concentration of 1%, 1.5% and 2%, rinsing with distilled water for 30 minutes, for filtering wastewater hotel for 120 minutes, and washing using chemical cleaning agent (NaOH and Detergent) for 30 minutes. Results highest percentage of rejection was 83.1% for BOD5, COD parameter 69.6%, 66.7% TSS parameters in transmembrane pressure of 2.5 bar. The highest washing efficiency of the value of Flux Recovery (FR) gained 88.59%, and the value of resistance of Removal (RR) gained 95.00% in the washing detergent ingredients with a concentration of 2% in the transmembrane pressure of 2.5 bar. The highest leaching effectiveness obtained at 51.27% in the washing detergent ingredients with a concentration of 2% and a transmembrane pressure of 2.5 bar. Abstract

The process of palm oil mill wastewater treatment produced by-product as sludge. Sludge generated made a problem for environment and for industry when no handling and processing of the sludge. The purpose of this research is to reduce the pollution of palm oil mill wastewater by composting method with sludge, boiler ash and fiber (fiber) material of palm oil. Sludge mixed with boiler ash, fiber, and domestic wastethen added activator EM-4. Thisstudy used variety of activators EM-4  for 0,5%, 0,7%, 0,9% and control as comparator to optimize the composting process. The result showed that the compost with activator EM-4 for 0,7% likely matured faster because C/N ratio was suitable of SNI 19-7030-2004 and did not shows  significant differences. Compost matured in the 21th day  with result (C-org 27.22; Ratio of C/N  = 10.76;). Based on these results, palm oil sludge can be used as compost by using activators EM-4.  Keywords : activators EM-4, boiler ash, compost,  fiber, palm oil sludge

Abstract

Potential Indonesian palm oil showed that palm oil agribusiness role in the economy community, national and global. Environmental issues are closely linked to oil palm agribusiness one of them as a major contributor of greenhouse gas emissions (GHG). Riau Province is the largest palm oil producer in Indonesia, amounted to 7.3336 million tons with 146 units Palm Oil mill (POM). POM X is one which POM in the province of Riau. Total emissions resulting from palm oil mill X is 1,383,336.559 CO2 equivalent / year, with the largest emissions come from the use a boiler is 79%. Then followed with from diesel use is 18% and wastewater treatment is 3%. Mitigation measures to reduce GHG emissions in the POM X by capture methane gas into biogas. This method can reduce GHG emissions from the treatment of wastewater in the POM X is 89.261%. Keywords: Palm oil mill (POM), greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions

Abstract

The increasing amount of plastic waste raises its own problem for the enviroment. The prolem is caused by the difficulty of biologically decomposing of the plastic waste. Various efforts have been made to reduce plastic waste. One way to use plastic waste is to process it into liquid fuel through the pyrolysis process. The study aims to determine the effect of each temperature variation and percent of catalyst from the activated carbon on the yield produced by the polypropylene type plastic, and characterization of the resulting liquid fuel. The pyrolysis was carried out at a temperature variation of 3000C, 3500C, 4000C, and the percent of the catalyst variaton from the activated from 5%, 6%, 7%, and without the catalyst, with a reation time of 120 minutes. The results of this study produced the highest yield of 70,03% at 4000C by adding catalyst from activated carbon by 7%. The characterization of the fuel produced was 0,870 gram/ml in density, kinemati viscosity at 2,868 eSt, flash point at 520C, and calor value at 44,696 Mj/kg.Keyword: liquid fuel, heating value, pyrolysis, polypropylene, active carbon.

Abstract

All human activities human will produce a residual in a form of solid called solid waste. UIN SUSKA Riau campus is a one of university in Pekanbaru with all of its activities is not hampered from solid waste production and problems coming from it, the solid waste accumulation for long days is some of problem coming out from the lack of intergrated solid waste management. This study aims to determine the waste generation and composition at UIN SUSKA Riau campus and planned waste management system that includes storage, collection, transportation in UIN SUSKA Riau campus. This study begins with the generation and waste composition studies conducted in 3 faculty, 3 offices, and 4 supporting fasilities. The study results showed the composition and in 2019 the daily waste generation of 556,28 kg/day in mass unit and 5.785 l/day in volume unit with generation is anorganic waste by 26,47% % and organic waste by 73,53%. Waste management planning in UIN SUSKA Riau campus include sorting unit with storage needs of 10 l bin for organic waste as much as 247 units and as many as 90 units of anorganic waste, bin capacity of 30 l to 139 units as much organic waste and anorganic waste as much as 50 units, bin capacity 60 l for organic waste as much as 41 units and 16 units of anorganic waste. Collection system in the form of segregated polling stations with a capacity of 1 m3. A transport fleet capacity of 4 m3 pick up 1 units.Keywords: generation and waste composition, waste management systems.

Abstract

The production process at PT. Lembah Karet which processes raw rubber into crumb rubber is divided into wet and dry production stages. Which in the production process produces noise from the use of machines. Noise arising from the use of machines unwittingly will cause disruption of bodily functions in workers, especially in hearing loss. The purpose of this research is to know the intensity of noise resulting from the use of machines, noise mapping, evaluation of noise intensity, exposure time and noise control efforts. In this research measurements of temperature, wind speed and noise intensity using a Sound Level Meter (SLM).
