Abstract

Seashell waste found in Tanjung Baru Beach, Karawang, which has not fully utilized. This waste can be widely used as an environmentally friendly material in various fields. Seashell waste is the source of CaCO3, and throughout the calcination process at the correct temperature, it can be converted to CaO. The purpose of the calcination process is to obtain a solid CaO by releasing CO2 gas. The calcination process can carry out at temperatures of 800 ℃, 900 ℃, and 1000 ℃ with a calcination time of 2 hours, 3 hours, and 4 hours. The seashell waste is characterized and analyzed using the Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy (FTIR), Scanning Electron Microscopy, and Energy Dispersive X-Ray (SEM-EDX). Before and after the calcination process, the FTIR spectrum of seashells is around 710 cm-1- 1476 cm-1, a characteristic peak of the C-O group from CaCO3.  The spectrum of 3429 cm-1- 3468 cm-1 is a characteristic peak of the O-H group from Ca(OH)2. The spectrum 2513.25 cm-1 is a characteristic peak of the C-H group containing CaO appearing after calcination. The seashell powder is analyzed by using SEM-EDX with the result where the most dominant elements are C (18.43%), O (52.07%), and Ca (27.86%) from the calcined shells. The elements C, Na, Al, Si, Fe, and Cu, are zero due to the heating process (calcination). The calcined seashell has also shown a rough surface and irregularly shaped particles.

Abstract

ABSTRAKPeran Respirator Dalam Pencegahan Dampak Kesehatan Akibat Polusi Udara Di Desa Klari, Kecamatan Klari, Kabupaten Karawang. Kegiatan ini di latar belakangi Desa Klari yang memerlukan perhatian terhadap peran respirator akibat dampak dari polusi udara. Selain itu, diharapkan dengan adanya Kegiatan Kuliah Kerja Nyata (KKN) ini dapat membantu masyarakat dalam meningkatkan kesadaran masyarakat akan pentingnya dampak polusi udara bagi Kesehatan di Desa Klari Kecamatan Klari. Hal ini dilakukan dengan cara menanyakan serta membagikan kuisioner ke masyarakat Desa Klari dengan adanya peran respirator bagi dampak Kesehatan akibat polusi udara. Dengan tingkat kesadaran masyarakat yang masih minim terhadap pentingnya peran respirator terhadap Kesehatan akibat polusi udara. Hal ini didasari dengan kondisi polusi udara di Desa Klari yang terbilang tidak terlalu baik akibat adanya polusi dari banyaknya kendaraan bermotor, asap pabrik, dan kegiatan pembakaran yang sembarangan. Dengan adanya kegiatan KKN di Desa Klari diharapkan tidak hanya dalam peningkatan peran respirator bagi masyarakat Klari tapi dihimbau bagaimana cara menanggulangi polusi udara dengan cara menanam pohon yang mengandung daya serap gas karbondioksida (CO2) dan pembuatan tong sampah guna mengurangi tingkat volume sampah di lingkungan Desa Klari. Kata Kunci: respirator; polusi; karbondioksida (CO2); desa klari; volume. ABSTRACTThe Role of Respirators in Preventing Health Impacts Due to Air Pollution in Klari Village, Klari District, Karawang Regency. This activity is in the background of Klari Village which requires attention to the role of respirators due to the impact of air pollution. In addition, it is hoped that this Real Work Lecture (KKN) activity can help the community in increasing public awareness of the importance of the impact of air pollution on health in Klari Village, Klari District.This is done by asking and distributing questionnaires to the Klari Village community with the role of respirators for health impacts due to air pollution. With the level of public awareness that is still minimal on the importance of the role of respirators on health due to air pollution. This is based on the condition of air pollution in Klari Village which is not very good due to pollution from many motorized vehicles, factory smoke, and indiscriminate burning activities.With the KKN activities in Klari Village, it is expected not only to increase the role of respirators for the Klari community but are also encouraged to overcome air pollution by planting trees that contain carbon dioxide gas absorption (CO2) and making trash cans to reduce the level of waste volume in the Klari Village environment. . Keywords: respirators; pollution; carbon dioxide (CO2); klari village; volume

Abstract

ABSTRAKKetersediaan air bersih menjadi sangat penting terutama di masa pandemi seperti saat ini. Indikator air bersih tidak hanya dilihat dari warna, tetapi juga dari aroma dan rasa. Untuk memperoleh air bersih salah satunya dapat menggunakan alat filtrasi air dengan karbon aktif sebagai salah satu media filtrasinya. Karbon aktif dapat menyerap zat-zat atau mineral yang mencemari air. Adapun manfaat karbon aktif dalam proses filtrasi air sebagai penyerap bau, warna, klorin atau mineral lain dan membuat rasa segar pada air. Selain menggunakan karbon aktif sebagai media filtrasinya, pada alat filtrasi air juga menggunakan media yang lain untuk membantu menghilangkan kontaminan pada air yang tercemar seperti menggunakan kerikil, ijuk dan pasir. Selain itu juga alat filtrasi dapat didesain dengan sangat baik sehingga aliran air tetap mengalir dengan cepat serta dilengkapi dengan adanya sinar UV untuk membunuh kuman atau bakteri pada air sehingga menjadi lebih steril. Adapun tujuan dari pengabdian ini adalah memberikan edukasi terhadap siswa/i SMK PGRI Cikampek dalam memanfaatkan karbon aktif sebagai salah satu media filtrasi air dalam multi-media water filter. Selain memberikan pelatihan pembuatan dan penggunaan alat filtrasi air, juga disampaikan cara pembersihan dan perawatan alat tersebut serta mengedukasi pentingnya air bersih dalam kehidupan terutama di masa pandemi covid-19 seperti saat ini. Kata kunci: covid-19; karbon aktif; multi-media water filter. ABSTRACTThe availability of clean water is very important, especially during a pandemic like today. The indicator of clean water is not only seen from color, but also by smell and taste. To obtain clean water, one of them can use a water filtration device with activated carbon as one of the filtration media. Activated carbon can absorb substances or minerals that pollute water. As for the benefits of activated carbon in the water filtration process as an absorber of odors, color, chlorine or other minerals and makes the water taste fresh. Apart from using activated carbon as the filtration media, the water filtration device also uses other media to help remove contaminants in polluted water such as using gravel, palm fiber and sand. In addition, the filtration device can be designed very well so that the water flow continues to flow quickly and is equipped with UV rays to kill germs or bacteria in the water so that it becomes more sterile. The purpose of this programme is to provide education to students of SMK PGRI Cikampek in utilizing activated carbon as one of the water filtration media in a multi-media water filter. In addition to providing training on the manufacture and use of water filtration devices, it was also conveyed how to clean and maintain these devices and educate the importance of clean water in life, especially during the Covid-19 pandemic like today. Keywords: covid-19; activated carbon; multi-media water filters.

Abstract

ABSTRAKPenanggulangan limbah yang dimanfaatkan dari segi pengetahuan masyarakat dapat dikatakan masih minim, terutama masyarakat desa. Seperti yang diketahui, ketika limbah yang dinyatakan sudah tidak terpakai namun ketika di daur ulang dapat mengurangi jumlah sampah secara signifikan. Desa Kutamekar yang terletak di Kecamatan Ciampel - Kabupaten Karawang terbilang cukup banyak menjadi produsen dan konsumen telur. Sehingga hal ini cepat lambat akan menumpuknya limbah cangkang telur di lingkungan sekitar permukiman. Maka melalui Pengabdian Kepada Masyarakat ini, bertujuan untuk melakukan sosialisasi, edukasi dan implementasi dalam pemanfaatan pupuk organik dari limbah cangkang telur untuk lahan pertanian. Materi Pengabdian Kepada Masyarakat berupa membandingkan hasil dari CaCO3 dari Cangkang Telur dan CaCO3 Komersil, didapatkan hasilnya yang tidak terlalu jauh. Namun berdasarkan hasil uji laboratorium yang dilakukan terdapat banyak di Cangkang Telur. Maka sebagai bentuk implementasi pemberian pupuk dilakukan terhadap tanaman pakcoy. Dari hal ini dilakukan pengamatan setiap minggu sekali yang dilakukan di hari minggu selama 1 bulan. Sebagai kesimpulan dilakukan penyebaran kuesioner terhadap masyarakat guna mengetahaui seberapa jauh materi yang telah dilaksanakan. Kata kunci: cangkang telur; pupuk organik; CaCO3. ABSTRACTWaste management that is utilized in terms of community knowledge can be said to be still minimal, especially the village community. As is known, when the waste is declared unused but when recycled can reduce the amount of waste significantly. Kutamekar Village located in Ciampel District - Karawang Regency is quite a lot to be a producer and consumer of eggs. So this will quickly accumulate eggshell waste in the environment around the settlement. So through this Community Service, it aims to socialize, educate and implement in the utilization of organic fertilizers from eggshell waste for agricultural land. Community Service Material in the form of comparing the results of CaCO3 from EggShells and Commercial CaCO3, obtained results that are not too far away. But based on the results of laboratory tests conducted there are many in the eggshell. So as a form of implementation of fertilizer delivery is carried out on pakcoy plants. From this is done observations every week that is done on sundays for 1 months. In conclusion, the dissemination of questionnaires to the community to determine how far the material has been implemented. Keywords: eggshell; organic fertilizers; CaCO3.

Abstract

ABSTRAKSekarang ini, diramaikan dengan isu Corona Virus Disease-2019 atau yang biasa disingkat dengan Covid-19. Kasus asal coronavirus pertama kali ditemukan di Kota Wuhan, China. Termasuk salah satunya di Indonesia awal kasus kesehatan ini ditemukan di Depok, Jakarta pada 02 Maret 2020. Begitu juga Kabupaten Karawang yang saat ini merupakan zona hitam (kasus Covid-19 kian menambah setiap harinya). Tujuan dalam penilitian ini yaitu pembuatan drone untuk penyemprotan disinfektan. Di karenakan disinfektan sendiri merupakan bahan senyawa aktif yang dapat meminimalisir terpaparnya Covid-19. Metode pengabdian yang dilakukan dengan cara pendekatan kualitatif. Hal ini dilakukan untuk kajian literatur yang menjadi parameter dalam penggunaan drone. Hasil yang ditawarkan dalam pengabdian ini guna mencegah bertambahnya kasus positif Covid-19, khususnya di Kabupaten Karawang. Di harapkan penyebaran Covid-19 dapat diminimalisir dengan cara penyemprotan disinfektan melalui drone. Selain itu drone yang digunakan dapat terintegrasi oleh sistem internet of things (IoT). Dengan tujuan agar dalam penggunaannya dapat dengan mudah diarahkan sesuai kebutuhan. Kata kunci:covid-19; drone; disinfektan; internet of things. ABSTRACTCurrently, it is enlivened by the issue of Corona Virus Disease-2019 or commonly abbreviated as Covid-19. The case of the origin of the coronavirus was first found in Wuhan City, China. Including one of them in Indonesia, the initial health case was found in Depok, Jakarta on March 02, 2020. Likewise, Karawang Regency is currently a black zone (Covid-19 cases are increasing every day). The purpose of this research is to make drones for spraying disinfectants. This is because disinfectants are active compounds that can minimize exposure to Covid-19. The research method used is a qualitative approach. This is done for a literature review which is a parameter in using drones. The results offered in this study are to prevent an increase in positive cases of Covid-19, especially in Karawang Regency. It is hoped that the spread of Covid-19 can be minimized by spraying disinfectants through drones. In addition, the drones used can be integrated by the internet of things (IoT) system. Abstract

ABSTRAK Aplikasi HEC atau yang disebut dengan Hybrid Evaporate Cooler, aplikasi ini dibuat menggunakan pengembangan operasi pada aplikasi android berbasis web yaitu MIT APP INVENTOR. Aplikasi yang diinstal pada smartphone/android untuk mengontrol alat HEC. Sosialisasi ini dilaksanakan di SMK PGRI Cikampek khususnya siswa jurusan RPL (Rekayasa Perangkat Lunak) sehingga siswa bisa mengetahui software MIT APP INVERTOR dan siswa diharapkan bisa membuat aplikasi secara mandiri. Setelah Aplikasi diinstal di android, siswa bisa menggunakan menu yang ada pada aplikasi HEC diantaranya adalah tombol go to screen 3, tombol back to screen 1, memilih perangkat bluetooth, menampilkan data kelembapan, pengiriman data ke database dengan media firebase web, input melalui suara, pemilihan input kecepatan ON/OFF. Siswa bisa memilih tombol menu yang diinginkan sesuai dengan menu yang ada pada aplikasi. Software MIT APP INVENTOR bisa terhubung dengan alat HEC dengan menyalakan Bluetooth pada android terlebih dahulu. Selain meng-edukasi secara teknologi, kami juga memberi memberikan pengetahuan bagaimana menginstall dan penggunaan aplikasi HEC pada android yaitu menggunakan software MIT APP Inventor. Kata-kata kunci: HEC (hybrid evaporative cooler); MIT APP inventor; bluetooth. ABSTRACTThe HEC application or what is called the Hybrid Evaporate Cooler, this application was created using the development of operations on a web-based android application, namely MIT APP INVENTOR. Application installed on smartphone/android to control HEC tools. This socialization was carried out at SMK PGRI Cikampek, especially students majoring in RPL (Software Engineering) so that students could know the MIT APP INVERTOR software and students were expected to be able to make applications independently. After the application is installed on android, students can use the menus in the HEC application including the go to screen 3 button, the back to screen 1 button, selecting a bluetooth device, displaying humidity data, sending data to the database using firebase web media, input via voice, ON/OFF speed input selection. Students can choose the desired menu button according to the menu in the application. The MIT APP INVENTOR software can connect with HEC devices by turning on Bluetooth on Android first. In addition to educating technology, we also provide knowledge on how to install and use the HEC application on Android, using the MIT APP Inventor software. Keywords: HEC (hybrid evaporative cooler); MIT APP inventor; bluetooth.

Abstract

ABSTRAKTelah dilakukan pengabdian kepada masyarakat untuk mendorong terciptanya pengetahuan dan kesadaran dari civitas akademik di SMAN 6 Karawang dalam rangka pelestarian lingkungan hidup. Salah satu yang dapat dilakukan oleh pihak sekolah adalah dengan meningkatkan kesadaran siswa atau warga sekolah akan pentingnya penanganan limbah terutama limbah yang dihasilkan dari laboratorium sekolah serta pentingnya melakukan penghijauan atau melestarikan lingkungan hidup salah satunya penanaman tanaman menggunakan sistem hidroponik. Banyak cara yang dilakukan untuk mengajak siswa peduli terhadap lingkungan, yaitu dengan mengajak siswa berpartisipasi dalam kegiatan pengelolaan lingkungan hidup, cara meningkatkan kualitas lingkungan hidup, serta mempunyai kesadaran mencegah kerusakan lingkungan. Kegiatan penanganan limbah dilakukan dengan memberikan pelatihan kepada siswa SMAN 6 Karawang tentang pembuatan karbon aktif dan aplikasinya sebagai adsorben limbah logam berat. Selain itu juga diberikan sosisalisasi pentingnya penanaman tanaman dalam peningkatan kualitas lingkungan hidup salah satunya penanaman menggunakan sistem hidroponik. Pada kegiatan tersebut dijelaskan tentang proses perakitan kit hidroponik dan penyerahan sistem hidroponik yang telah selesai dibuat. Serangkaian kegiatan pelatihan dapat meningkatkan kesadaran dan kepedulian siswa dalam menjaga kelestarian lingkungan hidup. Kata kunci: karbon aktif; limbah; hidroponik; peduli lingkungan ABSTRACTCommunity service activities have been carried out to encourage the creation of knowledge and awareness of the academic community at SMAN 6 Karawang in the context of environmental preservation. One of the things that can be done by the school is to increase the awareness of students or school residents about the importance of handling waste, especially waste generated from school laboratories and the importance of doing reforestation or environmental preservation, one of which is by planting plants using a hydroponic system. There are many ways to encourage students to care about the environment, namely by inviting students to participate in environmental management activities, how to improve environmental quality, and have awareness to prevent environmental damage. Waste handling activities are carried out by providing training to students of SMAN 6 Karawang about the manufacture of activated carbon and its application as an adsorbent for heavy metal waste. In addition, socialization was also given about the importance of planting plants in improving the quality of the environment, one of which is by planting with a hydroponic system. This activity explains the process of assembling the hydroponic kit and the submission of the completed hydroponic system. Abstract

Tumbuhan merupakan salah satu komponen yang dibutuhkan oleh manusia. Ilmu yang mempelajari mengenai tumbuhan juga sudah mengalami kemajuan pesat, begitupun sistem pengenalan dan identifikasi tanaman yang berguna dalam memberi berbagai informasi. Proses pengenalan dapat diterapkan dalam berbagai bagian dari tanaman, salah satunya adalah pengenalan pada citra daun. Proses pengenalan citra daun harus melalui proses pembelajaran yang panjang, maka digunakan teknik pengolahan citra yaitu Jaringan Saraf Tiruan (JST). Identifikasi jenis daun menggunakan JST pada percobaan kali ini menggunakan 4 jenis nama daun seperti daun bougenvillea, daun Geranium, daun Magnolia Soulangeana, daun pinus, dengan 16 sampel citra daun dengan bentuk daun yang berbeda-beda untuk setiap jenisnya. Epoch dalam Jaringan Saraf Tiruan ini mencapai nilai maksimal 1000 iterasi. Sebelum melakukan pengujian citra, terlebih dahulu dilakukan proses pelatihan citra. Setelah melakukan pengujian pada 16 sampel citra daun, diperoleh 15 sampel citra daun memiliki hasil benar terdeteksi dan 1 sampel citra daun memiliki hasil tidak terdeteksi. Dari hasil penelitian ini memiliki persentasi keberhasilan sebesar 93,6% berhasil terdeteksi dan 6,4% tidak berhasil terdeteksi. Kata kunci: Pengolahan citra, Jaringan Saraf Tiruan, citra daun

Abstract

Activated carbon is a porous solid containing 85-95% carbon, produced from carbonaceous materials by heating at high temperatures. Activated carbon has a very large surface area so it is suitable for applications requiring large contact areas such as in the adsorption field. Activated carbon can be made from fish bones because fish bones are removed as a waste containing carbon elements that can be used as raw material for making activated carbon. In the manufacture of activated carbon, not only raw materials that need to be considered, but also the process of activation. Activation of the charcoal can be carried out using CaCl2. For charcoal base material from fish bones containing lots of Ca and Mg elements, in addition to using the activator, also the activation process needs to be immersed in H2SO4. Characterization of activated carbons of synthesis include water content test, ash content test, and functional group analysis using FTIR spectroscopy. Based on the results FTIR shows specific peaks for as charcoal activated charcoal based on the literature. Based on the determination of the test water content and ash content obtained by activated charcoal from fish bones has a water content of 4,1% and ash content of 28,1%.

Abstract

Safety in driving is an important thing that must be considered to avoid traffic accidents. One of the factors causing the accident is the weather with a percentage reaching 13%, the driver will not focus on driving the car. Wiper control technology and automatic washer are applied to facilitate humans in driving. This system reads the intensity of rain and dust with a sensor then automatically the data is processed with a microcontroller. The output used in this system uses a stepper motor and Washer pump motor. Uses Arduino Uno and Fuzzy logic to make it easy as an automatic control system. The experimental results obtained are the speed of movement of the Wiper adjusts to the amount of water and dust input intensity received by the sensor. The success value of the Matlab output with the manual count output value is 98.26%, between the value of the manual count output with the actual output value of 96.83% and between the Matlab output value with the actual LCD output value of 96.95%
