Abstract

Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui tingkat kesulitan belajar siswa pada materi invertebrata yang ditinjau dari aspek kognitif, indikator pembelajaran dan faktor penyebab kesulitan belajar siswa. Metode yang digunakan adalah deskriptif kuantitatif. Populasi dalam penelitian adalah seluruh siswa kelas X IPA SMA Negeri 11 Medan. Sampel penelitian diambil secara Purpossive Sampling sebanyak 90 siswa. Instrumen yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini tes pilihan berganda dan angket. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa : (1) persentase tingkat kesulitan belajar siswa pada setiap aspek  kognitif soal  pengetahuan (C1) sebesar 47,22% (sedang); pemahaman (C2) sebesar 43,89% (sedang); aplikasi (C3) sebesar 60,67% (tinggi); analisis (C4) sebesar 65,00% ( tinggi); evaluasi (C5) sebesar 54,44%  (sedang); dan kreasi (C6) sebesar 61,67% (tinggi). (2) Persentase kesulitan belajar setiap indikator soal pada materi sistem saraf manusia meliputi : indikator ciri-ciri umum Invertebrata  52,47%  sedang, indikator dasar klasifikasi Invertebrata sebesar 64,07%  (tinggi); indikator contoh spesies Invertebrata sebesar 53,70%  (sedang); indikator siklus hidup Inverebrata sebesar 55,14%  (sedang); indikator sistem metabolisme Invertebrata sebesar 35,56% (rendah), indikator peranan Invertebrata sebesar 51,11% (sedang). (3) Persentase pengaruh faktor internal penyebab kesulitan belajar siswa meliputi : faktor kesehatan 78,70% (cukup menghambat) ; faktor intelegensi 55,97% (menghambat) ; faktor minat 58,54% (menghambat) ; faktor motivasi 68,06%  (cukup menghambat) ; faktor psikiatik 51,57 % (menghambat). Persentase pengaruh faktor eksternal penyebab kesulitan belajar meliputi : faktor keluarga sebesar 63,47% (cukup menghambat) ; faktor sekolah sebesar 68,17% (cukup menghambat) ; faktor guru sebesar 81,53% (tidak menghambat); faktor materi sebesar 48,94% (menghambat); faktor media sebesar 62,92% (cukup menghambat).

Abstract

The study was aimed to investigate the effect of higher order thinking questionsin biology practical worksheets to students learning achievement on ecosystem topic. The type of the research was quasi experiment and pre-test and post-test were applied. The population of the research is grade X of SMA Negeri 2 Binjai academic year 2015/2016. The samples consist of two groups and were selected randomly, grade X PMS 2 as control group (n=36 students) and X PMS 4 as experiment group (n=36 students). Learning method in both groups was practical. For experimental group, the learning process used the revised-worksheets and the control group used the student’s handbook. Multiple choice questions were the instrument to collect the cognitive data and questionnaires were used to assess the psychomotor aspect of the student achievement. Hypothesis was tested by t-test. The post-test result showed that, the average score in experimental group (85.72) was higher than control group (78.61). tcount (5.64) > ttable (1.994) (with α=0.05 and df=70). The psychomotor assessment revealed that the score of experimental group (90.02) was higher than control group (78.5). tcount (7.32) > ttable (1.994) (with α=0.05 and df=70). Based on the data from research result used tcount> ttable then H0 was rejected and Ha was accepted. It means that there is a significant effect of providing higher order thinking questionsin biology practical worksheets to students learning achievement on ecosystem topic ofgrade X SMA Negeri 2 Binjai academic year 2015/2016.Keywords: Practical, Revised-worksheet, Learning Achievement

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui perbedaan hasil belajar biologi siswa denganmenggunakan media herbarium dan media charta pada materi Spermatophyta di kelas X SMA SwastaMulia Pratama Medan Tahun Pembelajaran 2015/2016. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalahpenelitian eksperimen semu. Sampel dalam penelitian ini terdiri dari dua kelas yaitu kelas X1menggunakan media herbarium dengan jumlah siswa 32 orang dan kelas X2 menggunakan media chartadengan jumlah siswa 32 orang . Hasil analisis data menunjukkan rata-rata hasil belajar siswamenggunakan media charta ( ) = 81,71 dengan nilai standar deviasi (SD) = 11,04 lebih baik dari rataratahasil belajar siswa menggunakan media herbarium ( ) = 75,31 dengan nilai standar deviasi (SD) =12,11. Hasil hipotesis dengan menggunakan uji-t dan taraf kepercayaan α = 0,05 dan db = 62, diperolehthitung > ttabel (2,21 > 1,99), sehingga dalam penelitian ini hipotesis nihil (H0) ditolak dan hipotesisalternatif (Ha) diterima, dengan demikian diperoleh kesimpulan bahwa ada perbedaan hasil belajar siswadengan menggunakan media herbarium dan media charta pada materi Spermatophyta di kelas X SMASwasta Mulia Pratama Medan Tahun Pembelajaran 2015/2016.Kata Kunci: Hasil Belajar, Media Herbarium, Media Charta, Spermatophyta.

Abstract

The study aims to know the difference of learning achievement by poster displaying in the environmental topic. Type of the research was quasi experiment and was designed with pre-test and post-test. The population is the students in SMA Negeri 3 and 4 Medan academic year 2015/2016. The samples consists of two groups selected purpousively for each of school, grade X MIA 10 as poster making inclution group (n=40 students) and X MIA 7 as poster non-making inclution group (n=40 students). Learning method in both groups was goup discussion. In first group, used poster making inclution and poster non-making inclution for the second. Multiple choice test was the instrument for cognitive data collection and questionnaires were used for student performances. Hypothesis wass tested by t-test. The students learning achievement result showed that, the average score in poster making inclution group (74.92) was higher than poster non-making inclution group (67.13) with persentage difference is 38%. tcount with ttable is tcount > ttable ( 4.175 > 1.994) (with α=0.05 and df=78). Based on the data from research result used tcount > ttable then H0 was rejected and Ha was accepted. It means there is difference of learning achievement between student who were treated with poster making inclution and those treated with non-poster making inclution model on Environmental topic of Grade X in SMA at Medan Academic Year 2015/2016.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui perbedaan hasil belajar siswa yang diajar menggunakanmedia herbarium dan tanpa herbarium di kelas X SMA Negeri 2 Kisaran T.A 2015/2016. Penelitian inimerupakan penelitian quasi experimental dengan populasi seluruh siswa kelas X SMA Negeri 2 Kisaran T.A.2015/2016. Tehnik pengambilan sampel ditentukan secara purposive, dengan mengambil kelas X-2 sebagaikelas eksperimen sebanyak 42 siswa yang diajar dengan menggunakan media herbarium dan kelas X-1 sebagaikelas kontrol sebanyak 42 siswa yang diajar dengan tidak menggunakan media herbarium. Instrumen yangdigunakan untuk mengetahui hasil belajar siswa adalah tes hasil belajar yang berbentuk pilihan bergandadengan jumlah 30 soal. Dari hasil penelitian diperoleh nilai rata-rata pretes kelas eksperimen 33,78 dan nilairata-rata pretes kelas kontrol 36,09. Pada pengujian normalitas untuk pretes pada kelas eksperimen diperolehLhitung = 0,02759 dan Ltabel = 0,13671, untuk kelas kontrol dengan Lhitung = 0,126919 dan Ltabel = 0,13671 karenaLhitung < Ltabel, maka data kedua kelas berdistribusi normal. Dari hasil uji beda nilai kedua kelas pada tarafsignifikan α = 0,05 diperoleh thitung = 1,21 dan ttabel = 1,84 karena thitung < ttabel maka Ho diterima, maka dapatdisimpulkan bahwa kedua kelas memiliki kemampuan awal yang sama. Kemudian diberikan perlakuan yangberbeda, kelas eksperimen dengan menggunakan media herbarium dan kelas kontrol dengan tidakmenggunakan media herbarium. Nilai rata-rata postes kelas eksperimen 78,94 dan kelas kontrol 67,46. Dengandemikian, dapat disimpulkan ada perbedaan rata- rata hasil belajar Biologi siswa pada media herbarium dengantidak menggunakan media herbarium pada materi spermatophyta SMA Negeri 2 Kisaran Tahun Pembelajaran2015/2016.Kata Kunci : Herbarium, Spermatophyta, Hasil Belajar

Abstract

This research aims to know the difficulty of student learning on the matter of invertebrates in class X SMAfrom cognitive, learning-based indicator, and the factors causing difficulty learning the students of class X SMAfrom the Sub-district Pancur Batu learning Year 2016/2017. The design of the research that is used is thedescriptive quantitative. The population in the research is that all the students of class X SMA. Samples taken in acluster random sampling Pancur Batu namely SMA Negeri 1 Pancur Batu, SMA Anastasia Pancur Batu, and SMARakyat Pancur Batu with the number of students 171 people's Senior in High School students from the sub-districtPancur Batu. Data collection technique that is used is the test the results of student learning on the matter ofinvertebrates and questionnaires with students who have learning difficulties. The results of the study showedthat the percentage of students learning difficulties On cognitive knowledge level (C1) 25.91% percent with thecategory of difficulty is the level of understanding (C2) 29.86% with the category of medium difficulty,implementation levels (C3) 34.91% with the category of difficulty medium, analysis levels (C4) 49.79% percentwith the category of difficulty is very high, evaluation levels (C5) 60.39% with category of difficulty is very highlevel of creation (C6) 49.19% with a very high level of difficulty category. The factors that influence the difficultyof learning the most dominant is the internal factors namely pscyhiatric of 80.83% and the health of 78.61% withthe cause of the difficulties learning, while external factors namely schools of 78.46% and subjects of 65.47% withthe cause of the difficulties learning.Keywords: difficulties learning, cognitive, and invertebrates

Abstract

This study aims to find empirical data about the application of mini research tasks to student learning outcomes in the course of Systems Biology at FMIPA Unimed Medan. The method used in this research is quasi experiment with nonequivalent control group design. The results showed that students' ability in mastery of biodiversity material given task with mini research on value (post-test) was higher with mean value (95) than control class (70). In addition, the mastery of communication skills in writing, oral presentation skills, skills of analysis / critical thinking and integration skills is higher than the control class. Thus it can be said that the application of mini research tasks to students who follow the course of Systems Biology in FMIPA Unimed can improve learning outcomes in the mastery of biodiversity lesson materials. Likewise can improve the ability of students in the mastery of communication skills in writing, oral presentation skills, skills of analysis / critical thinking and integration skills. The results of this study will be used as a refinement of Basic Biology learning guide in FMIPA Unimed.Keywords: Mini research, Biodiversity, Student learning outcomes

Abstract

This research aims to know the student’s learning difficulty on the material of Human Excretion System from cognitive aspects and indicator aspects and factors causing students learning difficulties on the Human Excretion System on class XI IPA SMA Swasta Teladan Medan Academic Year 2017/2018. The population of this research is all students of class XI IPA which amounts to 118 students. The sample was taken by purposive sampling which amounts to 45 students. The instruments used to obtain data were tested student learning outcomes in the material of the Human Excretion System and learning difficulties questionnaire. The results of the research showed that students were categorized as incomplete. The percentage of student learning difficulties in cognitive aspect for C1, C2, C3, C4, C5, and C6 is 40,11% (medium), 37,82% (low), 41,69% (medium), 53,39% (medium), 49,15% (medium), dan 60,45% (high). The percentage of student learning difficulties based on the learning indicators is mentioned the meaning of the excretion system and its organs in the amount of 37,29% (low), identify the structure and function of the kidney in the amount of 35,59% (low), describe the structure of the nephron and explain the process of human urine formation in the amount of 42,91% (medium), identify the structure and function of the liver in the amount of 42,94% (medium), identify the structure and function of the lung in the amount of 47,46% (medium), identify the structure and function of the skin in the amount of 48,31% (medium), and determine abnormalities or diseases in human excretory organs in the amount of 55,37% (medium). Difficulties in the indicators of structure and function of the kidney and the process of formation of urine are categorized as inhibitory. Indicators of the understanding of the excretion system and its organs, the structure and function of the lung, the structure and function of the liver, abnormalities in the human excretory system, and the learning system in the material of the human excretory system are quite inhibiting categories. While indicators of the structure and function of the skin are categorized as not inhibiting.

Abstract

Prospective teachers are required to have adequate scientific literacy skills to support the achievement of the National SDGs 2030 goals. Research is needed that aims to analyze the level of scientific literacy skills of students of the 2018 Biology Education Study Program, Medan State University in the Plant Physiology course which was held at UNIMED in May-July 2021. This study uses a mixed descriptive method with a sequential explanatory strategy. The sample in this study amounted to 76 students who were determined through a random sampling technique. The data in this study were collected through a closed questionnaire and an observation sheet for the KKNI Plant Physiology assignment. This study uses descriptive statistical analysis techniques for quantitative data, questionnaires, and interactive analysis for qualitative data, the KKNI's task observation includes three activity lines, namely data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results obtained through questionnaires showed that the scientific literacy skills of Biology education students at the State University of Medan in the Plant Physiology course were in the high category with a percentage of 63.72%. Meanwhile, the scientific literacy ability of Biology education students at the State University of Medan based on the task analysis of the KKNI for the Plant Physiology course is in the low category with a percentage of 55.69%.
