Abstract

The role of the teacher is a pivotal key in the implementation of the 2013 curriculum. Not only the teacher's roles but also parental involvement plays a supporting role to achieve the objectives of implementing the curriculum. In order, collaboration between both is very necessary. In this study conducted a qualitative research method. It involved six informants’; three English teachers and 3 parents from state, private, and religious senior high school in Makassar, South. The instruments used Semi-structured interviews. The interviews were transcribed, coded and analyzed. The main findings and components of this study included the teachers’ roles and parental involvement as an essential source of information. The teacher's role is to apply the 2013 curriculum according to the procedure Which focuses on balance in cognitive, psychomotor, and emotional aspects by integrating subjects with one another. The parental involvement that domains found in this study as followed communicating, volunteering, and learning at home.

Abstract

This study aims to know students making mistakes during the negotiation process based on their level of proficiency. This study was conducted at one of a university in Surabaya. The case study is used to know the differences of student’s mistake awareness in different level proficiencies. The instruments of data collection were observation, audiovisual recording and interview. The source of data was student’s utterances. This study showed that every criterion has different mistakes that students made during the process of negotiation of meaning. The addition of student’s level proficiency influenced their mistakes awareness in process negotiation of meaning. Keyword: Case Study, Level of Proficiency, Mistake, Negotiation of Meaning

Abstract

Jurnal Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui apakah penerapan film pendek animasi dapat memudahkan siswa dalam menulis teks naratif. Selain itu, tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui kendala-kendala yang dihadapi siswa dalam berpikir kritis dalam menulis teks naratif dengan menggunakan media film pendek animasi. Fokus penelitian ini terletak pada bagaimana siswa sekolah menengah pertama menerapkan berpikir kritis dalam menulis teks naratif, dan kesulitan apa yang mereka hadapi dalam menerapkan berpikir kritis ke dalam tulisan mereka setelah menonton film pendek animasi. Peneliti mengumpulkan data dari observasi. Peneliti akan melakukan observasi minimal dua kali, peneliti akan merekam penerapan film pendek animasi oleh guru di dalam kelas. Semua kegiatan di kelas akan direkam dalam perekam video. Untuk kelompok yang dipilih secara acak oleh peneliti, perilaku verbal dan nonverbal mereka di dalam kelas akan direkam. Data hasil pencatatan dan hasil akhir siswa akan digunakan peneliti sebagai informasi selanjutnya untuk melengkapi data hasil observasi. Berdasarkan analisis dan pembahasan yang disajikan pada bab sebelumnya, maka peneliti dapat menyimpulkan hasil penelitian sebagai berikut: 1.Pembelajaran menulis teks naratif menggunakan film animasi berpengaruh signifikan terhadap kemampuan siswa dalam menulis teks naratif.2. Pembelajaran menulis menggunakan media film animasi dapat meningkatkan pola berpikir kritis pada siswa SMP.

Abstract

Assessment activities are closely related to the process of learning activities that cannot be separated. There are three processes in teaching and learning activities. That is input, process and output. Peer assessment has an important role in an English learning process, especially in the realm of speaking. Input is the student himself, the process is related to the curriculum, teaching materials, and teaching methods. And output is the result of learning. Assessment is available in all three domains. Assessment is carried out before the learning process, when learning is carried out, and after learning is carried out. Because of the importance of assessment factors in learning, there are many forms of assessment during learning. One form of assessment that supports the process of learning English in the realm of speaking is peer assessment activities. Some researchers believe that peer assessment plays an active and beneficial role for both students and teachers themselves. This qualitative research aims to determine and evaluate the benefits of peer assessment and perceptions of four subject teachers in an upper secondary school as teaching material from the results of assessments conducted by their students. Data was obtained through semi-structured interviews containing opinions, challenges and benefits from the application they obtained from this oral peer feedback assessment method

Abstract

Kegiatan penilaian sangatlah berkaitan erat dengan proses kegiatan pembelajaran yang tidak dapat dipisahkan. Terdapat tiga proses dalam kegiatan belajar mengajar. Yaitu input, proses dan output. Penilaian teman sejawat memiliki peranan yang penting dalam sebuah proses pembelajaran bahasa Inggris, khususnya di ranah speaking. Input adalah siswa itu sendiri, proses berkaitan dengan kuriikulum, bahan ajar, maupun metode mengajar. Dan output adalah hasil dari sebuah pembelajaran. Penilaian terdapat pada ketiga ranah. Penilaian yang dilakukan sebelum proses belajar, pada saat pembelajaran dilakukan, maupun setelah pembelajaran dilakukan. Karena pentingnya faktor penilaian dalam pembelajaran, maka terdapat banyak bentuk penilaian selama pembelajaran berlangsung. Salah satu bentuk penilaian yang mendukung dalam proses pembelajaran bahasa Inggris di ranah speaking adalah kegiatan penilaian antar teman sejawat. Beberapa peneliti percaya bahwa penilaian antar teman sejawat sangat berperan aktif dan bermanfaat bagi siswa maupun guru itu sendiri. Penelitian kualitatif ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui dan mengevaluasi manfaat dari penilaian antar teman sejawat dan persepsi dari empat guru mata pelajaran di sebuah sekolah lanjutan tingkat atas sebagai bahan ajar dari hasil penilaian yang dilakukan oleh murid mereka. Data diperoleh dari melalui wawancara semi terstruktur yang berisikan pendapat, tantangan maupun manfaat dari pengaplikasian yang mereka peroleh dari metode penilaian peer feedback ini.
