Abstract

TeleCTG is a telemedicine-based medium technology that Indonesia makes. Nowadays, Cardiotocography has only been operated by an obstetrician/gynecologist (ob-gyn) at the hospital. The occurrence of TeleCTG at Puskesmas (the public health center) helps midwives send the diagnosis online to an ob-gyn for immediate response. This technology helps to equalize the quality of health services. The research purpose is to analyze the innovation diffusion process in using TeleCTG medical devices for participation and empowerment of midwives as the frontline of public health services in the Kupang. Diffusion of innovation is a persuasive process of spreading innovation through specific channels among the members of a social system. Using an exploratory sequential mixed-methods design, then this research explored qualitative data through in-depth interviews with four informants. Questionnaires were distributed to draw the generalizability of the findings at the population level. The population is midwives from 13 sub-districts using TeleCTG in Kupang and cluster sampling techniques. Path analysis is used to see the causal relationship among elements of innovation diffusion, midwives’ participation, and midwives’ empowerment. The results found that the diffusion of innovation encourages the participation of midwives, then the participation level increases empowerment. The diffusion of innovation does not directly influence the empowerment of midwives, but there is an indirect effect of the elements on the empowerment mediated by midwives’ participation. As the final discussion, the participation of midwives is the key to increasing the empowerment of Puskesmas midwives in Kupang.

Abstract

Tujuan dari penelitian iniadalah mengkaji peran yang dijalankan oleh bidan yang mengadopsi teknologi baru bernama Tele-CTG untuk memonitor kesehatan ibu hamil dalam proses mendukung persalinan yang sehat untuk mengurangi tingkat kematian ibu dan anak. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan pengambilan data melalui wawancara mendalam pada bidan yang bekerja di empat lokasi berbeda (Jakarta, Bekasi, Kupang, dan Indramayu) yang sudah menerapkan teknologi Tele-CTG selama satu tahun terakhir. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bidan mempunyai lima peranan sebagai agen perubahan sosial: (1) Menjadi perantara penting dalam menerjemahkan penggunaan serta sosialisasi manfaat Tele-CTG terhadap pasien, (2) Bidan memberikan informasi terbaru mengenai kesehatan anak dalam kandungan melalui pengenalan Tele-CTG yang terhubung langsung dengan dokter, (3) Menganalisis kebutuhan pasien terkait kemungkinan gangguan yang akan timbul pada bayi dalam kandungan melalui pengenalan Tele-CTG. (4) Menumbuhkan keberanian pasien untuk mengambil tindakan yang tepat terhadap anak dalam kandungan, dan (5) mengembangkan kepercayaan akan kebutuhan pasien melalui penggunaan teknologi baru.

Abstract

Indonesia Traveler Group is virtual communities contained in the Clubhouse application. Clubhouse is an audio-chat-based application that can be used to listen to and interact with other users in a discussion room. The purpose of the establishment of this Indonesia Traveler group is to make the Indonesia Traveler group as the main medium of exchanging ideas and sharing experiences with tourism players and all tourism stakeholders in Indonesia. This research aims to analyze communication patterns formed in the Clubhouse Indonesia Traveler group. By using a constructivist paradigm with a descriptive qualitative approach and analysis unit studied which are an active member in the Indonesia Traveler group. For data collection techniques using documentation, interviews and research observations. Checking the validity of the data in this study uses a test of source triangulation and data between the results of interview data and the interview data that has been conducted. Based on the results of the study, the communication pattern formed in the Clubhouse Indonesia Traveler group is Y pattern due to the presence of someone who becomes an intermediary to convey information with other members and also the pattern of all channels where the group discussion room is open so that members can communicate with each other. Grup Indonesia Traveler merupakan salah satu komunitas virtual yang terdapat dalam aplikasi Clubhouse. Clubhouse adalah aplikasi berbasis audio-chat yang dapat digunakan untuk mendengarkan sekaligus berinteraksi dengan pengguna lain dalamsebuah ruang diskusi. Pembentukan grup Indonesia Traveler ini adalah untuk menjadikan grup ini sebagai medium utama bertukar gagasan dan saling berbagi pengalaman dengan para pelaku pariwisata dan seluruh stakeholder pariwisata di Indonesia. Penelitianini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pola komunikasi yang terbentuk pada grup Clubhouse Indonesia Traveler. Penelitian inimenggunakan paradigma konstruktivis dengan pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif. Unit analisis yang diteliti adalah member aktifdalam grup Indonesia Traveler, menggunakan teknik pengumpulan data dokumentasi, wawancara dan observasi penelitian.Pengecekan keabsahan data pada penelitian ini menggunakan uji triangulasi antara sumber dan data hasil data wawancara serta observasi pada interaksi dalam grup. Hasil penelitian ini memperlihatkan pola komunikasi yang terbentuk dalam grup ClubhouseIndonesia Traveler adalah pola Y, dikarenakan kehadiran perantara untuk menyampaikan informasi dengan anggota lain, dan pola semua saluran pada ruang diskusi grup memperlihatkan keterbukaan dari bebasnya anggota berkomunikasi antara satu sama lain.
