Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the increase in friendly character in elementary school students after learning to use the Panjol game.The research method used is the experimental research method. The type of experimental research used is the one group pretest-posttest design. The researcher gave a pretest before the treatment and gave a posttest after the treatment using the Panjol game. The treatment was given for three meetings in order to get the maximum result of increasing friendly character. The population in the study were students at SD 1 Muhammadiyah Kudus. Determination of the sample using purposive sampling technique with the criteria of grade IV students so that the sample in the study was 24 children in grade IV SD 1 Muhammadiyah. Data collection techniques in this study are observation, non-test, and interviews. The instruments used in this study were observation sheets and questionnaire sheets. The data obtained were then analyzed using the N-Gain test.The results showed an increase in the friendly character of children after treatment using the Panjol game. The increase in child-friendly character can be seen from the average pretest score of 39 and an increase in the average posttest score of 68. Meanwhile, the N-Gain value is 0.47 in the medium category.

Abstract

Young citizens have a strategic role in the movement to care for the environment. They are considered as guardian angels for the environment from the cruel economic development and development. Their involvement in the environmental movement will have a major impact on environmental sustainability. The ecological citizenship movement can be a bridge to bring young citizens to the success of environmentally sustainable development. The ecological citizenship movement is a social activity that focuses its activities on saving the environment from human selfish actions. The purpose of this study is to analyze the importance of the involvement of young citizens in the ecological citizenship movement to realize sustainable development with an environmental perspective. This research uses a literature study approach. Data sources were obtained from the results of reviews of journal articles or books related to ecological citizenship, sustainable development, and case studies on the involvement of young citizens in environmental management. This article consists of three discussions that fit the focus of this research. First, it outlines a description of the ecological citizenship movement. Second, it presents the results of an analysis of the forms of involvement of young citizens in the ecological citizenship movement from various case studies. Third, present the results of an analysis of the importance of the involvement of young citizens in environmentally sustainable development. Based on the results of the study it can be concluded that the involvement of young citizens in the ecological citizenship movement and sustainable development programs is very important, because they are the actors responsible for environmental sustainability and development in the future.

Abstract

This article aims to discuss the forms of activities of the ecological citizenship movement and the formation of environmentally care characters. The study uses a qualitative approach with a case study. Data collection uses observation, interviews, and documentation studies. The ecological citizenship movement is carried out through the post-mining reclamation movement, mangrove planting movement, resistance movement, and waste care action movement. Efforts to build the character of environmental care are instilled through environmental education in the community and students in schools, clear law enforcement for mining companies, and campaigns through social media about environmental conditions.

Abstract

The study aimed to find out the effect of controversial public issue learning models with video and Macromedia flash player media on students’ critical thinking skills in Civic Education subjects at SMA Negeri 1 Rancah. The particular research was a quasi-experimental research using pretest, posttest control group design. Data analysis techniques used independent t-test and one-way ANOVA test. The results showed that critical thinking skills on students taught using Controversial Public Issues model with video media had a significant effect on the critical thinking ability. This finding might be seen from the one-way ANOVA test results that the Fcount> Ftable (61.146> 3.13) or the p-value is lower than 0.05 (p = 0.000 <0.05) and the gain score. The experimental class 1 obtained a gain score of 0.49 in the category of "medium" effectiveness. The experimental class 2 obtained a gain score of 0.34 in the category of "medium" effectiveness. The control class obtained a gain score of 0.00 in the category of “low".

Abstract

This study aimed to describe the urgency of global civic education, civic education in the Indonesian context, and the conceptual framework of global civic competencies in developing the Pancasila and civic education curriculum. This study used a descriptive qualitative approach with a literature study method through several stages, including collecting library data, taking notes, reviewing data sources, and processing information. The urgency of global citizenship education was to prepare young people who understand the contemporary world, play an active role in solving national and global problems, and become proactive contributors to a more just, peaceful, tolerant, inclusive, safe, and sustainable world. Pancasila and civic education in the Indonesian context did not yet contain material for global civic education. The conceptual framework for global civic in developing the Pancasila and civic education curriculum should include three main elements: global knowledge and understanding, values and attitudes, and global skills.

Abstract

The case of terrorism in Indonesia made the younger generation the target of the dogma of religious radicalism, so the younger generation made it a tool for the success of the terrorist movement. Religion-based community organizations are very significant in preventing the dogma of radical movements for students. This study aims to analyze the Nahdlatul Ulama Student Association/Nahdlatul Ulama Women's Association (IPNU/IPPNU) movement's efforts in Banjardowo Village to provide education on Islamic religious values to youth members and the surrounding community. This study uses descriptive qualitative research methods with interviews, observations, and documentation. The research analysis used is descriptive inductive/qualitative. Informants selected for interviews were core management and members of the organization. The results showed that; Analysis of the description of the IPNU/IPPNU student organization in Banjardowo village and the forms of activities of the IPNU/IPPNU student organization in Banjardowo village in providing education on religious values to members and the community was carried out in a planned and systematic manner.

Abstract

Dalam diskursus kontemporer, aliran pendekatan kewarganegaraan terdiri atas Liberal, Republikan, dan Komunitarian. Tujuan dari kajian ini ialah untuk mengkaji dan menjelaskan pendekatan kewarganegaraan yang digunakan di Indonesia. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah penelitian kualitatif menggunakan teknik pengumpulan data studi pustaka (library research). Sumber-sumber dalam penelitian ini ialah seperti buku, artikel hasil penelitian, dan dokumen-dokumen seperti UUD, Peraturan Pemerintah, dan Panduan-Panduan yang berkaitan dengan Pendidikan Pancasila dan Kewarganegaraan. Data diolah dan dianalisis secara indukatif. Hasil dari temuan kajian ini ialah Pendekatan Kewarganegaraan Indonesia berbeda dengan pendekatan kewarganegaraan kontemporer. Pendekatan Kewarganegaraan Indonesia ialah pendekatan Pancasila yang merupakan sintesa dari ketiga aliran kontemporer. Ruang-ruang individu dan publik dilindungi dan dikembangkan oleh negara. Lebih dari itu, budaya masyarakat atau kearifan yang turut membentuk kehidupan masyarakat dilindungi dan dikembangkan oleh negara sebagaimana termaktub dalam UUDNRI Tahun 1945

Abstract

The study aims to reveal the learning outcome in the civic education of Junior High School  2 Wates students by implementing the cooperative learning model “Make A Match” type with film media on competency standard understanding of various constitutions used in Indonesia. This research is classroom action research conducted in three cycles. The technique used for data collection was observation and achievement test. The data analysis technique used the procedure of data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results show increased student learning outcomes in the cognitive, affective, and psychomotor domains from the first to the second and third cycles. It can be concluded from this study that implementing the cooperative learning model of “Make A Match” type with film media can improve the learning outcomes in the civic education of the students of class VIII C Junior High School  2 Wates in the academic year of 2015/2016. Therefore it can be used as an alternative learning model in civic education.

Abstract

This research aims to know the correlation of micro-teaching and teaching practice with the professional competence of Civic Education students in LPTK in DIY. This research belongs to correlational research with a quantitative approach. The population of this research is students in the 7th semester or students who have passed micro-teaching thing classes and teaching practice programs (UNY, UAD, UPY, and UCY). The purposive sampling technique is used to determine the sample of the research. The 140 students from four Civic Education programs in the LPTK DIY are the sample of this research. The data were collected using question documentation. Data were analyzed using bivariate-experimental. The research results indicate a positive and significant correlation between teaching and teaching practice with the professional competence of the Civic Education students in LPTK in DIY. It can be proved from the signify, lower than 0.05, and the analysis of variance (ANOVA). Micro teaching and teaching effectively contribute about 58.4% to the professional competence of Civic students in LPTK in DIY.
