Abstract

The silica content in sea sand can be used to immobilize lipase from papaya leaf. Research on the influence of incubation temperature on sea sand immobilized lipase from papaya leaf (Carica papaya L) has been carried out. The aim of research is determining the influence of incubation temperature on sea sand immobilized lipase from papaya leaf (Carica papaya L). The method used in this study was a completely randomized design with temperature at 30, 40, 50, 60, 70°C. The results show that lipase from papaya leaf (Carica papaya L) had successfully immobilized in the sea sand and the optimum temperature stability of lipase immobilized in sea sand at 50°C with an activity is 53.000 µmol/g.jam Keywords : immobilized, lipase, papaya leaf, sea sand.

Abstract

Research on dissolved protein and crude fiber flour based on coconut pulp and tempe flour has been performed. This study aims to determine the effect of shelf time on levels of dissolved protein and crude fiber flour-based cereal coconut pulp and tempeh flour. Cereals were made from coconut pulp flour and tempe flour as the main ingredients and the ratio of the ingredients was varied to 25:75; 50:50; and 75:25. The ratio of 25:75 produced the highest dissolved protein level of 3.88% and the 75:25 ratio produced the highest crude fiber of 21.96%. Keywords: Coconut pulp flour, tempe flour, dissolved protein, crude fiber

Abstract

Research on the potential of Ashoka (Ixora javanica) flower as a natural food and beverage coloring agent in terms of pH stability during the storage period. This study aims to determine the stability of Asoka flower extract on the effect of pH during the storage period. The time used was 10 days and the variation of pH of 2,3,4,5 and 6, respectively. The results show that Asoka flower extract was stable at pH 2 after a 10-day storage period with degradation presentation of 36.21%, while Ashoka flower extract dyes were unstable at pH 6 after a 10-day storage period with degradation percentage is 78.02%. This proves that the different acidic atmosphere influences the stability of Ashoka flower extract. Keywords : Dyes, stability of Ashoka flowers, degradation

Abstract

Biosorbent studies on methylene blue absorption using chitosan from rice conch shell have been carried out. This research was carried out with variations in contact time of 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6 hours with the aim to determine the contact time required to adsorb Methylene Blue dyes by chitosan from rice conch shell with the highest adsorption capacity. The results showed that the contact time required to adsorb Methylene Blue dye by a chitosan from rice conch shell was 6 hours with the highest adsorption capacity of 85.05%. Keywords: Chitosan, adsorption, Methylene Blue
