Abstract

ABSTRACT The research was appeared because of an understanding of mathematical concepts students are still low. The research aims to determine which one is better technique will be implemented to the students of class VIII, SMP N 1 Sitiung in the  academic period of 2013/2014. The alternative techniques are make a match technique or conventional technique. The type of this research is a random design experiment to subject. The population is all of student from class VII in SMPN 1 Sitiung that has registered in the academic period of 2013-2014. The sample of the research is class of VIIID as experiment class and class of VIIIF as the control class. The instrument of the research is the last with a score of realibility is 0,795. Based of the result data analysis found that the average student learning outcomes in experiment class is 74,99 and the outcome is higher  than outcome from control class that is 38,24. Data is analyzed with t-test that obtained tcount = 10,90 and ttable = 1,67. The hypothesis can be accepted. So, it can be concluded that student’s understanding of mathematical concepts using cooperative learning model is better than conventional technique in class VIII, SMPN 1 Sitiung.

Abstract

ABSTRACT This research is motivated by the students understanding of mathematical concept are still low and students’ not interest in learning mathematical. This research was aimed to determine whether students’ understanding of mathematical concept by implementing the wheel of fortune learning technique better than the students’ understanding of mathematical concept than the implementing of conventional learning in class XI IPS SMAN 16 Padang school year 2013/2014. This was an experimentasl research and applied random research toward the subject. Based on the perceived data analysis, the class sample has normally distributed and homogeneus. Hypothesis test result obstained P-value = 0,009 was smaller than  then reject , so the research hypothesis was accepted.  It can be concluded that the student’s understanding of mathematical concept by implementing the wheel of fortune learning technique better than the students’ understanding of mathematical concept than the implementing of conventional learning in class XI IPS SMAN 16 Padang school year 2013/2014.

Abstract

ABSTRACT Students understanding of mathematical concepts are still low in class XI Science SMAN 15 Padang become the background for this study. The study aims to determine whether the ability of the students understanding of mathematical concepts by applying quick on the draw better than the ability of the students understanding of mathematical concepts by applying conventional learning in class XI Science SMAN 15 Padang. This study is a randomized study design experiments to sabjek. Analysis of the data using one-way t test with MINITAB program. Based on the analysis of data obtained P-value = 0.008 means less than α = 0.05 level, so it can be concluded that the ability of understanding mathematical concepts students with a quick on the draw better than the ability of the students understanding of mathematical concepts by applying conventional teaching students of class XI Science 15 Padang.
