Abstract

Mentha spicata L. or commonly known as spearmint is an herbaceous plant that has many benefits in this pandemic period, but land limitations that become a production problem can be overcome with the use of hydroponics wick system. This study aims to get the best combination treatment of AB Mix nutrients and planting media to the production of mint plant stems (Mentha spicata L.) in hydroponic wick systems. The research was conducted at the screen house of SMKN Pertanian Karawang, East Karawang Subdistrict, Karawang Regency in June to July 2021. The research method used is an experimental method with a randomized design group (RAK) of single factors consisting of 12 treatments with 3 repeats. The data is analyzed with a variety analysis and if the 5% F test shows a real different result, then continued with the DMRT (Duncan Multiple Range Test) test at the level of 5%. Paramater observed included plant height (cm), number of leaves (strands), wet weight of plants (grams), and plant growth rate (cm/week). The results showed that there was a noticeable influence on the observation parameters of plant height aged 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6 MST, the number of leaves aged 5 and 6 MST, wet weight of plants, wet weight of plants without roots and plant growth rate.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to get the obtain a combination of liquid organic fertilizer kepok banana peel and urea fertilizer that gives the best influence on the growth and yield of pakcoy plant (Brassica rapa L.) varieties of Nauli F1. The research method used is an experiment method with a single factor Randomized Block Design (RBD) with 7 combinations of treatments and 4 replication, the trearment: A (LOF Banana Peel 0 ml/liter + Urea 0 kg/ha), B (LOF Banana Peel 0 ml/liter + Urea 300 kg/ha), C (LOF Banana Peel 300 ml/liter + Urea 0 kg/ha). D (LOF Banana Peel 300 ml/liter + Urea 300 kg/ha), E (LOF Banana Peel 300 ml/liter + Urea 200 kg/ha), F (LOF Banana Peel 100 ml/liter + Urea 300 kg/ha). G (LOF Banana Peel 100 ml/liter + Urea 200 kg/ha). The results showed there was significant on the provision of liquid organic fertilizers of banana peels and urea fertilizers on the average growth of plant height (14 dap, 21 dap, and 27 dap), the number of leaves (14 dap, 21 dap, and 27 dap), the diameter of the stems (7 dap, 14 dap, 21 dap, and 27 dap), root weight, leaf area, leaf area index and fresh weight. The treatment E (LOF Banana Peel 300 ml/liter + Urea 200 kg/ha ) obtained the best average results on the number of leaves and root weight meanwhile the treatment G (LOF Banana Peel 100 ml/liter + Urea 200 kg/ha) obtained the best average results against the height of the plant, stem diameter, leaf area, index of leaf area, and fresh weight of 58.61 grams/plant.

Abstract

Samhong Mustard (Brassica rapa L.) is a vegetable commodity that has high prospects and has many benefits and nutritional content needed by the community. The purpose of this study was to analyze and obtain the best combination of planting media and nutrients in hydroponic wick system on the growth and yield of mustard greens (Brassica rapa L.). The research was conducted at Greenhouse , Bekasi City, West Java. The study was carried out for 3 months, from June 2022 to August 2022. This study was prepared using an experimental method using a single factor Randomized Block Design (RAK). There were 6 treatments with 4 replications, namely M1 (Zeolite + AB mix), M2 (Zeolite + Growmore), M3 (Pakis + AB mix), M4 (Pakis + Growmore), M5 (Rockwool + AB mix), M6 (Rockwool + AB mix), so there are 24 experimental plots. The results showed that the combination of planting media and nutrients had a significant effect on the growth and yield of mustard samhong, the combination of planting media and nutrients in the M5 (Rockwool + AB mix) treatment gave the most optimal results on the number of leaves, root length, and plant fresh weight and M1 (Zeolite + AB mix) treatment on plant height and leaf area

Abstract

Mushrooms are one of the agricultural commodities that have good prospects for development and cultivation. The purpose of this study is to compare the characteristics of the mangrove fungus (Volvariella volvaceae) in the straw growing medium of conventional harvesting methods and Combine Harvester. The research was conducted at the Merang mushroom barn in Pasir Buah Hamlet, Pasimulya Village, Majalaya District, Karawang Regency. In March–April 2023. The research method used the Single-factor Randomized Design (RAK) with 3 repeats. There are 12 treatments: A (Gebot 100%), B (Combine 100%), C (Trasher 100%), D (Gebot 50%+Combine 50%), E (Gebot 50%+Trasher 50%), F (Combine 50%+Trasher 50%), G (Gebot 75%+Jobotine 75%), F (Combine 50%+Tras 50%), G (Gebot 75%+25%), G (G) and 75%). The effect of treatment is analyzed by variety analysis and if the F test is 5% significant, then to find out which treatment is best to proceed with the DMRT (Duncan Multiple Range Test) at 5%. The research results show that there is no real effect of some straw media using machines on Unsika's G4 Faperta isolates. The treatment of Gebot 75% + Combine 25% gave the highest yield on a single-heel conversion mushroom weight of 182.47 kg, and the average harvest intensity of a single growing season for 14.67 days. The 50% + 50% Gebot treatment gave the best value at the time of pinhead appearance of 6.0 days and a fruit body weight of 12.71g. The Gebot 75% + Combine 25% treatment gave the best results at 6.18cm in length and 4.99cm in fruit body diameter while the Gebot 75% + Trasher 25% treatment gave the best value at a per tray weight of 54.99g. Keywords:G4 Faperta Isolate, Straw Mushroom, Straw Harvesting Method

Abstract

Mushroom is one type of mushroom that is quite widely known by the people of Indonesia. This straw mushroom is included in the agricultural commodity of horticultural crops where the economic value is quite high. The current problems of mushroom cultivation are straw mushroom seeds, straw mushroom growing media, and rice straw harvesting techniques. The purpose of this study was to compare the characteristics of the mushroom (Volvariella volvaceae) on straw media with different harvesting methods (gebot, combine¸ and trasher). The research was conducted in a farmer's straw mushroom house located in Pasir Buah Hamlet, Pasirmulya Village, Majalaya District, Karawang Regency. In November-December 2022. The research method used was a single factor Randomized Block Design (RBD) with 3 replications. There are 12 treatments, namely A (Gebot 100%), B (Combine 100%), C (Trasher 100%), D (Gebot 50% + Combine 50%), E (Gebot 50% + Trasher 50%), F (Combine 50% + Trasher 50%), G (Gebot 75% + Combine 25%), H (Gebot 75% + Trasher 25%), I (Combine 75% + Trasher 25%), J (Gebot 25% + Trasher 75%) K (Combine 75% + Trasher 25%), L (Trasher 75% + Combine 25%). The effect of treatment was analyzed by analysis of variance and if the F test at 5% level was significant, then to find out which treatment was the best, it was continued with the DMRT follow-up test (Duncan Multiple Range Test) at the level of 5%. There was a significant effect on the number of fruit bodies, body weight per fruit tray, and fruit body weight from the productivity test of G3 FP005 mushroom seeds with media combine 75% + trasher 25% can be used as a reference material for the growth of straw mushroom, because it has better results than other treatments for the growth and development of straw mushroom. Keywords:G3 Faperta Isolate, Straw Mushroom, Straw Harvesting Method

Abstract

Hydroponics is a planting system in agriculture that uses a mixture of water and nutrient solutions as a growth medium to replace the role of soil in meeting nutrient needs and uses non-soil growing media as a planting technique. Hydroponic wick system is one of the hydroponics that uses the working principle of water capillary action by using the axis as an intermediary for the rise of water from the nutrient container to the plant root area. The research method used was the experimental method using a factorial Randomized Block Design (RBD). There are 2 factors consisting of 16 treatments. The first factor is the type of wick which consists of 4 levels, namely Flannel, Wool, Stove Wick and. The second factor was the type of planting medium which consisted of 4 levels, namely Rockwool, Cocopeat,  Hydroton and Sewdust. Each experiment was repeated 3 times so that a total of 48 experimental units were obtained. The experimental results showed that there was an interaction effect between the type of axis and the planting medium on plant height at 35 and 40 days after planting and number of leaves at 7, 14, 21 and 28 days after planting curly mustard greens (Brassica juncea L.) Samhong King variety in hydroponic wick system. In the flannel axis type, the optimal planting media type is cocopeat planting media with a fresh weight yield of 282,13 g giving the highest yield on the flannel axis type with a yield of 187,84 g.

Abstract

Straw mushroom is one of the horticultural commodities that is in great demand by the community. The successful cultivation of straw mushrooms is determined by the quality of the seeds of the molten mushroom. Tissue culture is one of the efforts to get quality seeds. Quality seedlings are seen from the brood of the merang fungus and the quality of pure culture. Making pure culture is still constrained in making in vitro media, especially alternative media materials. This study aims to obtain the best results from the growth of G2 FP005 mycelia on alternative media materials in vitro. This research was conducted at the Biotechnology and Plant Breeding Laboratory, Faculty of Agriculture, Singaperbangsa University, Karawang from April to May 2023. The research method used was a single factor Complete Randomized Design (CRD) with 7 treatments and 5 replications: A (100% PDA); B (100% Charcoal Husk Solution); C (100% Husk Solution); D (80% PDA + 20% Husk Charcoal Solution), E (75% PDA + 25% Husk Solution), F (50% Husk Charcoal Solution + 50% Husk Solution); G (50% PDA + 25% Husk Charcoal Solution + 25% Husk Solution). The effect of the treatment was analyzed using variance and if the F test was significant at 1% level, then to find out which treatment was the best it was continued with the DMRT (Duncan Multiple Range Test) advanced test at the 1% level of significance. The results achieved from this study were that there was a significant effect of using alternative media materials on the growth of the straw mushroom mycelia. Alternative media 80% PDA + 20% rice husk charcoal gave the highest mycelia colony diameter of 7.88 cm and the highest mycelial colony growth rate of 2,878 cm/day. Keywords: Unsika Faperta Isolate, Straw Mushroom, Tissue Culture.
