Abstract

Covid-19 has affected the education sector in Indonesia. The purpose of this study was to determine the decay rate of Carbon-14 and Uranium-238 isotopes in the first half, second and third half, and to determine the level of accuracy of the experiment using PhET Simulation. The method used in this research is the experimental method. The results showed the percentage of decay rate of Carbon-14 in the first half was 49%, the second half-life was 75.4%, and the third half-life was 84.5%. While the percentage of Uranium-238's decay rate in the first half is 49.6%, the second half-life is 74%, and the third half-life is 85.9%. The accuracy level for the Carbon-14 isotope using PhET Simulation was 98.35%, while the accuracy level for Uranium-238 isotope using PhET Simulation was 99.95%. Therefore, PhET Simulation can be used as a solution for part-time practicum during the Covid-19 period.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of the TGT type of cooperative learning model in learning physics through the overall size, based on education level, by region and dependent variables. This study uses a descriptive method with a meta-analysis approach to the results of scientific research published nationally. There are 8 national journals that fall into the research category. The results showed that learning as a whole with the application of the TGT cooperative learning model was able to improve student learning outcomes with an effect size of 0.459 from the control group. Based on the level of education, it can improve student learning outcomes with an effect size of 0.352 for junior high school education and 0.524 for high school education. Based on region, several regions in Indonesia, namely the island of Java, obtained results with an effect size of 0.743 and Sumatra with 0.419. And based on the dependent variable, the TGT cooperative learning relationship with learning outcomes has an effect size of 0.453; learning achievement has an effect size of 0.743; and understanding the concept has an effect size of 0.335. The three results of this study indicate the magnitude of the influence of the TGT type of cooperative learning model in learning physics. This shows that the TGT type of cooperative learning model is effectively used and has a major influence on learning physics.

Abstract

Understanding a physics concept requires supporting activities such as practicum. The existence of the Covid-19 Pandemic has caused practicum not to be carried out directly in the laboratory so it is done through virtual laboratory media, one of which is the Crocodile Physics software. However, the use of Crocodile Physics software for prism practicum has not been widely used. Therefore, in this study using Crocodile Physics 605 software which aims to determine the angle of deviation in different prisms and to see the relationship between the angle of incidence and the angle of deviation of the prism. Based on the data analysis that has been carried out, it is found that the benzane medium produces the largest prism deviation angle compared to other mediums, which is 62o. The greater the value of the angle of incidence in the first plane of the prism , the greater the value of the angle of deviation . Vice versa, the smaller the value of the angle of incidence in the first plane of the prism, the smaller the value of the angle of deviation.
