Abstract

ABSTRAK. Penelitian mengenai respons tanaman paprika terhadap serangan Thrips parvispinus Karny telah dilaksanakan dari bulan Maret sampai Desember 2003 di Balai Penelitian Tanaman Sayuran di Lembang (1.250 m dpl). Tujuannya adalah mengetahui pengaruh waktu penyerangan T. parvispinus terhadap kerusakan tanaman dan kehilangan hasil. Penelitian ini menggunakan rancangan acak lengkap dengan 4 macam perlakuan, dan tiap perlakuan diulang sebanyak 8 kali. Macam perlakuan yang diuji adalah tanaman yang terserang mulai (a) 2 minggu setelah tanam, (b) 4 minggu setelah tanam, (c) 6 minggu setelah tanam, dan (d) 8 minggu setelah tanam. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa (1) serangan trips dapat menurunkan hasil panen paprika secara nyata, (2) serangan T. parvispinus dalam bentuk nimfa maupun imago memiliki pengaruh nyata terhadap penurunan hasil panen paprika, (3) semakin awal terjadinya serangan, semakin tinggi kerusakan tanaman dan penurunan hasilnya, baik secara kualitas maupun kuantitas, (4) tanaman berumur muda atau pada fase vegetatif lebih rentan terhadap serangan trips, dan (5) pengendalian trips pada tanaman paprika harus dilakukan sejak awal tanam.ABSTRACT. The experiment was conducted from March until December 2003 at the Indonesian Vegetable Research Institute in Lembang. The aim of the study was to determine effect of time of initial infestation on plant damage and yield loss. Four treatments were arranged using randomized complete block design and each treatment was replicated 8 times. The treatments tested were plant infested at (a) 2 weeks after transplanting, (b) 4 weeks after transplanting, (c) 6 weeks after transplanting, and (d) 8 weeks after transplanting. Results showed that (1) thrips infestation could significantly reduce the yield, (2) infestation of both nymph and imago of thrips could significantly decrease the yield, (3) the earlier of plant infested the higher of plant damage and the yield loss, either the quantity or the quality, (4) the young plant or plant in vegetative periode was susceptible to thrips infestation, and (5) control measure of thrips has to be done earliest.

Abstract

ABSTRAK. Percobaan untuk mengetahui pertumbuhan dan hasil tanaman paprika yang ditanam pada 2 tipe konstruksi rumah plastik dan 2 jenis media tanam, dilaksanakan di Kebun Percobaan Balai Penelitian Tanaman Sayuran, Lembang (1.250 m dpl.), Jawa Barat dari bulan Mei 2004 sampai Februari 2005. Tanaman paprika ditanam pada 2 tipe konstruksi rumah plastik, yaitu (1) rumah plastik bambu dan (2) rumah plastik tipe kayu-metal. Jarak tanam yang digunakan pada masing-masing rumah plastik adalah 1,20x0,50 m. Dua jenis media tanam yaitu perlite dan arang sekam juga diteliti sebagai faktor perlakuan. Rancangan percobaan yang digunakan adalah acak kelompok dan masing-masing kombinasi perlakuan diulang 6 kali. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa tipe konstruksi rumah plastik berpengaruh terhadap intensitas cahaya matahari yang dapat diintersepsi di rumah plastik dan rumah plastik tipe kayu-metal dapat mengintersepsi cahaya matahari 12,6% lebih tinggi daripada rumah plastik bambu. Bobot dan jumlah buah per tanaman dari tanaman paprika yang ditanam di rumah plastik tipe kayu-metal lebih tinggi daripada tanaman paprika yang ditanam di rumah plastik bambu. Tanaman paprika yang ditanam di media tanam arang sekam memberikan bobot dan jumlah buah per tanaman paprika lebih tinggi daripada media tanam perlite. Untuk mengatasi temperatur terlalu tinggi di rumah plastik tipe kayu-metal dapat dilakukan dengan membuat ventilasi di atap dan dengan cara menambah populasi tanaman.ABSTRACT. Gunadi, N., T.K. An experiment to determine the growth and yield of sweet pepper grown in 2 different plastichouse constructions and 2 growing media was conducted at the field experiment of Indonesian Vegetable Research Institute, Lembang (1,250 m asl.), West Java from May 2004 to February 2005. Sweet pepper plants were grown at 2 different plastichouse constructions i.e. (1) bamboo plastichouse and (2) wood-metal type plastichouse. Plant spacing in each plastichouse was 1.20x0.50 m. Two planting media i.e. perlite and rice husk were also evaluated as the treatment factor. The experiment was arranged in a randomized complete block design and each treatment combination was replicated 6 times. The results indicated that plastichouse construction affected the light intensity intercepted in each plastichouse and the wood-metal type plastichouse intercepted light 12.6% higher than that in the bamboo plastichouse. Fruit weight and fruit number per plant of sweet pepper grown at the wood-metal type plastichouse were higher than those of grown at the bamboo plastichouse. Sweet pepper plant grown in rice husk growing media gave higher either fruit weight or fruit number per plant than those grown in perlite. In order to reduce the high temperature occurred in the wood-metal type plastichouse, ventilation could be provided on the roof or increasing the plant population.

Abstract

ABSTRAK. Penelitian tentang pola sebaran vertikal Thrips parvispinus Karny pada tanaman paprika dilaksanakan dari bulan Maret - Desember 2003 di Balai Penelitian Tanaman Sayuran di Lembang (1.250 m dpl). Tujuannya adalah untuk mengetahui bagian tanaman paprika yang paling disukai oleh T. parvispinus. Bagian tanaman yang diuji meliputi bunga, daun pucuk, daun atas, daun tengah, dan daun bawah. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa nimfa T. parvispinus paling banyak dijumpai pada daun atas, sedangkan imago pada daun pucuk. Dengan demikian, daun atas dan daun pucuk dapat dipilih sebagai unit contoh dalam kegiatan pengamatan trips.ABSTRACT. Prabaningrum, L. and T.K. Moekasan. 2008. The aim of the study was to determine which part of the plant that most prefered by T. parvispinus. The plant parts tested were flower, shoot, upper leaf, middle leaf, and lower leaf. The results indicated that the highest population of nymph was found on upper leaf and the highest population of imago was found on shoot. Therefore, upper leaf and shoot can be chosen as sampling units in monitoring of thrips.

Abstract

ABSTRAK. Percobaan dilaksanakan di dataran rendah (Kramat, Tegal, Jawa Tengah), dan di dataran medium (Rancaekek, Jawa Barat). Tujuan penelitian adalah untuk mendapatkan paket teknologi usahatani bawang merah yang cocok untuk dataran rendah dan dataran medium melalui pendekatan analisis model indeks komposit. Perlakuan yang diteliti terdiri dari 2 faktor, yaitu faktor A: 5 varietas bawang merah (No. 86, No. 88, No. 22, No. 33, dan var. Menteng untuk pelaksanaan di dataran medium dan kultivar Kuning di dataran rendah), faktor B: 3 jenis paket teknologi budidaya bawang merah. Rancangan percobaan yang digunakan petak terpisah dengan 3 ulangan. Analisis yang digunakan ragam data gabungan dan ragam data individual, serta model indeks komposit analisis faktor. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa varietas bawang merah yang sebaiknya direkomendasikan untuk dataran rendah Kramat, Tegal adalah kultivar Kuning, dan perpaduan komponen teknologinya adalah paket teknologi T3. Varietas bawang merah yang sebaiknya direkomendasikan untuk dataran medium Rancaekek adalah varietas Menteng, Klon No. 33 dan Klon 88 dengan paket teknologi T1. Budidaya bawang merah di dataran medium menghasilkan rerata susut bobot umbi lebih kecil dibandingkan di dataran rendah.ABSTRACT. Suwandi, R. Rosliani, and T.K. Moekasan. 2008. Determrmination of Shallot Cultivation Techchnologygy Package at Low and Medium Elevation Thr ough Analysis of Composite Index Model. The experiment was conducted at low elevation (Kramat, Tegal, Central Java), and at medium elevation (Rancaekek, West Java). The objectives of the experiment was to find out the appropriate cultivation technology package of shallot at low and medium elevation through analysis of composite index model. The treatment consisted of 2 factors of A: 5 varieties of shallot (No.86, No. 88, No. 22, No. 33, and var. Menteng/Majalengka for medium elevation and var. Kuning for low elevation), factor B: 3 kinds of cultivation technology package of shallot. Experimental design used was split plot with 3 replications. Analyses were done using combination data variance analysis, individual data variance analysis and composite index model of factor analysis. The results showed that the best recommended variety of shallot for low elevation at Kramat, Tegal was var. Kuning, and the cultivation technology package was T3. While the best recommended variety of shallot for medium elevation were var. Menteng, Clone No. 33, and Clone no. 88, and the cultivation technology package was T1. Cultivation of shallot at medium elevation gave lower bulb weight-lost than at low elevation.

Abstract

ABSTRAK. Salah satu kendala dalam pengembangan agribisnis paprika adalah adanya serangan organisme pengganggu tumbuhan. Untuk mengetahui status beberapa jenis hama yang menyerang tanaman paprika pada musim hujan dan kemarau telah dilaksanakan survai pada bulan Januari dan Agustus 2003 di Kabupaten Bandung, yang merupakan sentra produksi paprika di Jawa Barat. Pengambilan data menggunakan kuesioner dengan responden sebanyak 30 orang. Data yang dihimpun meliputi jenis hama, kehilangan hasil panen, dan cara pengendaliannya. Data hasil analisis secara deskriptif disimpulkan bahwa trips merupakan hama utama tanaman paprika, baik pada musim hujan maupun pada musim kemarau. Kehilangan hasil panen berkisar antara 10-25% pada musim hujan dan 40-55% pada musim kemarau. Cara pengendalian yang dilakukan petani hanya mengandalkan pada penggunaan insektisida.ABSTRACT. One of constraints in cultivating sweet pepper is pests and diseases problem. Survey to determine pests status on sweet pepper was carried out in January (rainy season) and August (dry season) in 2003 at Bandung District, West Java. Data were collected using questioner with 30 farmers as respondents. The data consisted of kind of pest, crop loss, and pest control and the data was analyzed descriptively. The results indicated that thrips was a key pest on sweet pepper in either rainy or dry season. Yield loss due to thrips was 10-25% in rainy season and 40-55% in dry season. All farmers used insecticide intensively to control thrips.
