Abstract

Critical thinking skills are needed in chemistry learning, because some chemistry is contextual and in Indonesia is still relatively low. This study aims to stimulate students critical thinking skills on the topic of voltaic cells by developing the Selvo E-module apparatus. Research and development is carried out by adapting and modifying the development model through the preliminary study phase and development with limited trials. The sample in this study were students of class XI MIPA Academic Year 2018/2019. The instruments used were valid and reliable essay test questions and questionnaire sheets. Based on the findings obtained, it can be seen that the application of the Selvo E-module can stimulate students to think critically. It is seen from the average value of students pretest at 20.14 and the average posttest value of students is 85.07.

Abstract

Penelitian inii bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh pembelajaran PISI dalam meningkatkan hasil belajar kimia siswa kelas XI semester 2 SMA Muhammadiyah 3 Yogyakarta tahun ajaran 2014/2015. Penelitian merupakan eksperimen semu yang terdiri terdiri dari variabel bebas berupa model pembelajaran dan variabel terikat berupa hasil belajar. Populasi penelitian ini adalah 143 siswa kelas XI SMA Muhammadiyah 3 Yogyakarta pada semester kedua Tahun ajaran 2014/2015. Sampel penelitian ditentukan dengan teknik purposive sampling yang terdiri dari dua kelas. Kelas eksperimen menggunakan model pembelajaran PISI dan kelas kontrol menggunakan model pembelajaran 5M dalam materi larutan penyangga. Teknik pengumpulan data melalui teknik tes dan teknik dokumentasi. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan adalah uji-t beda subjek dengan taraf signifikansi 0,05. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat pengaruh pembelajaran PISI dalam meningkatkan hasil belajar kimia siswa kelas XI semester 2 SMA Muhammadiyah 3 Yogyakarta tahun ajaran 2014/2015.

Abstract

Siswa masih mengalami kesulitan dalam memahami konsep larutan penyangga, sehingga penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui peningkatan pemahaman konsep larutan penyangga dengan menerapkan model pembelajaran POGIL (Process Oriented Guided Inquiry Learning). Penelitian ini dilakukan di SMA Negeri 5 Kota  Serang kelas XI tahun ajaran 2017/2018. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode quasi eksperimen dengan desain penelitian two group pre test post test design. Sampel penelitian ini terdiri dari 59 siswa yang terbagi menjadi 2 kelas, yaitu 29 siswa kelas eksperimen dan 30 siswa kelas kontrol yang diperoleh dengan menggunakan teknik purposive sampling. Pengumpulan data pemahaman konsep siswa diperoleh dengan menggunakan instrumen tes. Hasil penelitian mengungkapkan pemahaman konsep larutan penyangga yang diajarkan dengan menggunakan model pembelajaran POGIL mengalami peningkatan yang signifikan yang ditunjukan dengan nilai rata-rata gain sebesar 0,44 yang berada pada kategori sedang.

Abstract

This research is a research and development (R&D) research that aims to find out the development procedures while producing products and the quality of the Selvo E-module application as a learning medium on the topic of voltaic cells. Research and development is carried out by adapting and modifying the Borg & Gall development model trough preliminary study and development stages with limited trials involving the validation of five media experts. Analysis of the data used during development is descriptive analysis and percentage techniques. The sample in this research were students of class XI MIPA Academic Year 2018/2019. The results showed that the development of chemistry e-module has “very good” qualifications for the material aspect with a percentage of 92% and media with a percentage of 97% according to experts. Based on the responses given by students as an assessment sample, the quality of the Selvo E-module application is included in the excellent category with a percentage of 85.24%.

Abstract

Literasi sains merupakan kemampuan abad 21 yang perlu dimiliki untuk menghadapi permasalahan yang terjadi di lingkungan sekitar dan menyelesaikannya dengan konsep serta pengetahuan yang telah dimiliki.  Namun masih banyak siswa yang kurang memiliki literasi sains. Rendahnya literasi sains peserta didik mengakibatkan sulitnya peserta didik dalam mengintegritaskan pengetahuan yang didapat dengan empat aspek litersi sains. Tujuan penelitian ini yaitu untuk menganalisis penerapan dan perbedaan hasil belajar sebelum dan sesudah menggunakan model pembelajaran Argument-Driven Inquiry pada materi asam basa. Pada penelitian ini menggunakan desain penelitian pre-eksperimen dengan One-Group Pretest-Postest. Sampel yang digunakan yaitu 30 orang peserta didik kelas XI IPA. Pemilihan sampel menggunakan cara Purposive Sampling. Instrument penelitian yaitu instrument tes pilihan ganda beralasan, lembar observasi dan rencana pelaksanaan pembelajaran. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan uji paired sample t-test. Hasil perhitungan uji paired sample t-test sebesar 0,000 sehingga terdapat perbedaan keterampilan argumentasi ilmiah peserta didik setelah diterapkan model pembelajaran Argument Driven Inquiry (ADI). Peserta didik lebih aktif saat pembelajaran dan memberikan argumentasi ilmiah sesuai dengan komponen argumentasi ilmiah yang baik.

Abstract

Kegiatan praktikum kimia di sekolah cenderung hanya membuat siswa melaksanakan panduan yang sudah ditentukan. Maka diperlukan suatu pembelajaran yang dapat mengajak siswa terlibat lebih aktif yaitu pembelajaran berbasis Mini-Project. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui penerapan kegiatan laboratorium kimia berbasis Mini-Project terhadap hasil belajar dan aktivitas siswa. Peningkatan hasil belajar ditunjukkan oleh pre-test dan post-test, sedangkan peningkatan aktivitas siswa ditunjukkan oleh hasil observasi. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode quasy-experimental dengan Control Group Pre-test Post-test Design. Sampel penelitian ini berjumlah 64 siswa, yang terdiri dari kelas XII Mipa 5 dan XII Mipa 7 SMAN 1 Pandeglang tahun ajaran 2018/2019. Instrumen penelitian menggunakan tes tertulis (pre-test dan post-test), dan lembar observasi yang sudah divalidasi. Data penelitian dianalisis secara deskriptif dan statistik. Berdasarkan hasil uji independent sample t test diperoleh sig 0,000 < 0,05 dengan effect size sebesar 0,99. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penerapan pembelajaran berbasis Mini-Project dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar dan aktivitas siswa dengan ukuran pengaruh dalam kategori “besar”.

Abstract

Stoichiometry is one of the essential chemistry topics that is an abstract concept, involves complex calculations, and is related to other chemical concepts. It can cause not a few students to have difficulty learning it. Scaffolding is needed in the learning process of stoichiometry concepts to help students understand concepts more easily and improve learning outcomes. This research aims to determine differences in students' cognitive learning outcomes on the stoichiometry topic after implementing the IMWR scaffolding model. This research used experimental research with the one-group pretest-postest design. Respondents were 32 high school students who were determined by purposive sampling. The instrument test consisted of 32 items of essays that were valid and reliable. Data is collected and carried out through pretest and posttest. The differences in students' cognitive learning outcomes were analyzed descriptively using the N-gain test and statistical analysis using the paired sample t-test. The paired sample t-test showed a significance value of 0.000 (sig. 0.05), meaning there were differences in student learning outcomes after implementing the IMWR Scaffolding learning model. However, the resulting difference is not significant and is in a low category (N-gain 0.27). Implementing IMWR scaffolding needs to be designed as best as possible by paying attention to students' character to help students understand the concept using procedural knowledge, which impacts better learning outcomes.

Abstract

Learning chemistry requires practicum which functions to enrich understanding of chemical materials. Practical practice should ideally be carried out in a laboratory as a representative place to produce accurate and precise data using validated practical instructions. This study aims to create a chemistry practicum guide that is designed to be carried out at home with facilities around the house so that it can function to train student independence. This research is a product development research in the form of using model Analyze, Design, Develop, Implement, and Evaluate (ADDIE). The resulting product was validated by 6 material and media expert validators and then tested limited to 15 chemistry teacher candidate students. The results showed that the practicum instructions obtained an Aikens score of 0.9 from the validator, which means they are valid and feasible to try out. Then after conducting trials and student responses, a response of 86% was obtained in the very good category. Based on the values from the validator and limited trials, these practical instructions can be used by prospective Chemistry teachers in teaching in the classroom and at home.

Abstract

This research aims to stimulate the understanding of Class XI MIPA 5 students at SMAN 1 Cikeusal through practical work on making a simple calorimeter. This activity was carried out at SMAN 1 Cikeusal. Through this research, it is hoped that students' perception of chemistry subjects as difficult, boring, scary and so on can slowly be reduced so that students' understanding of chemistry subjects can increase. The research method carried out was through a series of activities at SMAN 1 Cikeusal, namely carrying out practical work on making a simple calorimeter using simple tools and materials that are easily found in the surrounding environment and comparing the simple calorimeter tool with the real tool. This activity was held on Wednesday 11 October 2023, which was attended by students of SMAN I Cikeusal Kab. Serang consisting of representatives from class XI Mipa 5 with a total of 40 participants. In carrying out this activity, students showed an enthusiastic and enthusiastic attitude in participating in the learning process, especially during simple practical activities so that the chemical material being studied, namely simple calorimeters, could be understood well. Thus, the aim of the research at SMA 1 Cikeusal can be said to have been achieved because the learning outcomes of students in class XI MIPA 5 SMAN 1 Cikeusal experienced a significant increase after carrying out practicum activities. This is proven by the results of the pretest average score of 87 increasing to 93.5.
