Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of the addition of probiotic EM4 (Evective Microorganism-4) in feed to growth and gouramy ointment (Osprhronemus gouramy) at the Freshwater Fish Seed Development Center in Gorontalo Province. The method of this research is experimental method and data processing using completely Randomized Design with 4 treatments 3 replicates. The treatment is done with different doses which in treatment A (Without Probiotic), B ( probiotic 1 cc), C (probiotic 2 cc), D (probiotic 3 cc). The parameters observed were growth rate, Feed Conversion (KP). Feed Efficiency (EP), and Absolute Length (PM). The data were tested continued using the LSD test (Least Significance Different). The results showed that the effect of giving EM4 probiotic with different dose to the growth rate of gouramy fish (Osprhronemus gouramy) gave a very real effect, and from the four research results it was found that treatment D with 3 cc dose was the highest value, followed by C 2 treatment cc, treatment B with a dose of 1 cc and the lowest is in treatment A (Control). Keywords : Probiotic EM-4, gouramy (Osprhronemus gouramy), Growth.

Abstract

Danau Limboto kini berada pada kondisi yang sangat memperihatinkan karena mengalami proses penyusutan dan pendangkalan akibat sedimentasi dan tempat pembuangan sampah  yang mengancam keberadaan ekosistem dimasa yang akan datang. Berdasarkan permasalahan tersebut, maka dilakukanlah penelitian dengan judul tingkat pencemaran Perairan Danau Limboto Gorontalo. Pengukuran beberapa parameter kualitas air dilakukan secara insitu pada 8 (delapan) stasiun yang dilakukan secara sampling dan analisis laboratorium beberapa parameter kualitas air dilakukan pada Balai Riset dan Standardisasi Industri Manado. Tingkat pencemaran pada perairan Danau Limboto dihitung menggunakan indeks pencemaran Kirchoff 1991 dan indeks pencemaran logam berat menurut KepmenLH No. 115 Tahun 2003. Hasil Penelitian menunjukkan bahwa tingkat pencemaran stasiun 1, 2, 3, 4 dan 5 tergolong tercemar ringan dengan nilai indeks kimia kirchoff berkisar 59.13-70.64, sedangkan stasiun 6, 7 dan 8 tergolong tercemar sedang dengan nilai indeks kimia kirchoff berkisar 42.58-55.82. Tingkat pencemaran logamberat  Pb dan Cd pada perairan Danau Limboto masih berada dalam kondisi normal dengan nilai  indeks pencemaran logam  0≤PIj ≤1 yaitu memenuhi baku mutu (kondisi baik). Kata Kunci : Tingkat Pencemaran, Danau Limboto, Indeks Kirchoff

Abstract

The aim of this research was to determine the concentration cadmium (Cd) in the sediments in the area of Talumolo Cargo Ship Port, Gorontalo. The method used in this research was descriptive analysis as a mean of describing and explaining the result which has already been obtained then compare it with the quality standard set by The Department of Conservation and Natural Resources Melbourne (2004) and ant the quality standard set by Dutch Quality standars For Metals in Sedimen (IADC/CEDA, 1997). The results showed that the concentration cadmium (Cd) in the sediments in the area of Talumolo Cargo Ship Port, Gorontalo City, the highest was found at point 2 (the sediment in the harbor area) with the calculation reached 0.3229 ppm, and the second was found at the third point (sediment in the sea area) with 0.2225 ppm, while the lowest cadmium was in the first point (Bone estuary) with the number 0.2027 ppm. The concentrations of cadmium (Cd) in the sediments in the area of Talumolo Cargo Ship Port, Gorontalo still not reached the quality standard set by The Department of Conservation and Natural Resources Melbourne (2004) which was set as 1ppm, and the quality standar set up by the Dutch Quality Standars For Metals in Sediment, IADC/CEDA, (1997) which was 0.8 ppm. Keywords : Heavy metals, Cadmium, Sediment, Talumolo, Gorontalo

Abstract

The aim of the study was to determine the rate of hatching of turtle eggs with different substrates in North Gorontalo Regency. The research method is an experiment with a Complete Randomized Design (CRD), which is 3 treatments and 3 repetitions obtained from direct observations in the field will be analyzed quantitatively and qualitatively. The treatment consists of Treatment A (Control ie sand from natural nests), Treatment B (coarse sand with a diameter of 0.50-1.00 mm) and Treatment C (fine sand with a diameter of 0.10-0.21 mm. Based on the results of the research on turtle egg hatching with different substrates in the District of Monano, North Gorontalo Regency, it was shown that the average hatching of turtle eggs was the highest at treatment B which was 78%, then treatment A which was 50% and the lowest was in treatment C namely 39%.

Abstract

The effects of tributyltin (TBT) have been estimated using imposex characters in two species of marine gastropods, Thais tuberosa and Monodonta labio, at 3 different locations along the Minahasa Peninsula, northern part of Sulawesi Island: Manado Bay Waters, Bitung Coastal Waters, and Tateli Coastal Waters as a control area. The estimation was done by comparing the percentage of female imposex (I) at different body size (small: shell length ≤ 25 mm; large: shell length >25 mm), and measuring the concentration of TBT in sediments and soft part of the gastropod samples. The highest I value was found in small sized T. tuberosa from Manado Bay Waters (63%) and large sized T. tuberosa from Bitung Coastal Waters (60%). Small and large sized M. labio had their highest I value, 30% and 44% respectively, in the samples from Manado Bay Water and Bitung Coastal Waters. The occurence of imposex in both speciesis correlated with the high concentration of TBT in sediments and soft part of the marine gastropod samples© Kajian tentang pendugaan pengaruh bioakumulasi logam berat tributyltin (TBT) menggunakan karakter imposeks pada gastropoda laut (Thais tuberosa dan Monodonta labio) telah dilakukan. Sampel diambil dari 3 lokasi di perairan sepanjang Semenanjung Minahasa, Pulau Sulawesi bagian Utara, yaitu Perairan Teluk Manado (PTM), Perairan Bitung (PBT), dan Perairan Pantai Tateli (PPT) sebagai lokasi kontrol. Pendugaan dilakukan dengan cara membandingkan persentase individu imposeks (I) sampel ukuran kecil (K; panjang cangkang ≤ 25 mm) dan ukuran besar (B; panjang cangkang >25 mm), dan pengukuran konsentrasi TBT pada sedimen dan bagian lunak sampel gastropoda laut. Nilai I tertinggi adalah pada T. tuberosa ukuran K asal PTM, sebesar 63%, dan ukuran B asal PBT, sebesar 60%.Untuk M. labio baik ukuran K maupun B, nilai I tertinggi adalah pada sampel asal PTM dan PBT, masing-masing sebesar 30% dan 44%. Kejadian imposeks pada kedua jenis sampel ini didukung dengan konsentrasi TBT pada sedimen dan jaringan gastropoda laut yang tinggi©
