Abstract

Liquid organic fertilizer comes from nature and has the potential to improve biological, physical and soil properties because it contains nutrients that have the potential to increase plant growth. This research was conducted to determine liquid fertilizer made from telang kombucha fermentation waste on the growth of mustard plants. The method used was a completely randomized design with a single factor, namely the difference in the concentration of liquid organic fertilizer given 6 treatments with 5 replications for each treatment. The research data were analyzed statistically through ANOVA at a significance level of 95%. Parameters in this study were plant height, number of leaves, fresh weight and dry weight. The results of this study prove that the spraying treatment of liquid organic fertilizer containing kombucha fermentation waste of butterfly pea flowers has an effect on the growth parameters of mustard plants. The conclusion is that liquid organic fertilizer from the waste of fermented kombucha flower butterfly pea at a concentration of 5 mL/L can increase plant height, number of leaves, wet and dry weight of mustard plants.

Abstract

Telang flower kombucha is proven to have various pharmacological activities, so that it can be developed as medicines, cosmetics, and its waste can be applied in agriculture as an ingredient in organic liquid fertilizer to support plant development and growth. This research aims to make hand sanitizer gel formulations and preparations with active butterfly pea flowers. Disk diffusion is used to stop gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria from growing. Post hoc analysis and one-way ANOVA were used to analyze the data. The one-way ANOVA analysis yielded results with a significance level of P<0.05, allowing the post hoc test to continue. When tested at a sugar concentration of 40%, the butterfly pea flower kombucha hand sanitizer significantly outperformed the control when it came to inhibiting the growth of the test bacteria. The best way to stop the test bacteria from growing is to use a concentration of 40%.

Abstract

Gelatin is a type of converted protein obtained through the hydrolysis process of collagen from animal skin, bones and white fibrous tissue. The main raw materials used in gelatin production are beef bones, cow skin and pork skin. The bones of tuna fish (Euthynnus affinis) can be used as a source of gelatin. This research aims to isolate gelatin from E. affinis fish bones using acetic acid as a hydrolyzate and to characterize the amino acid content using High Performance Liquid Chromatography. E. affinis bone gelatin is brownish yellow with a yield of 12.2%, water content 10%, ash content 1.03%, pH 4.33, and viscosity 3.44 cP and strength of 67.54 g. bloom. E. affinis bone gelatin contains 77.7 amino acids consisting of proline 8.76%, glycine 23, 5% and tryptophan 0.01% which is a typical amino acid of collagen.

Abstract

Kombucha bunga telang dapat dimanfaatkan sebagai minuman probiotik peningkat sisrtem imun, bahan aktif obat dan kosmetik, bahkan bahan pupuk cair organik. Salah satu bakteri gram positif yang dapat menyebabkan inflamasi pada gigi yaitu Staphylococcus aureus sehingga dalam menghambat pertumbuhan nya perlu dicegah melalui rajin berkumur dengan obat kumur herbal yang berbahan aktif larutan fermentasi kombucha bunga telang. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk membuat formulasi dan sediaan obat kumur herbal yang berbahan aktif larutan fermentasi kombucha bunga telang untuk dirancang menghambat pertumbuhan bakteri Staphylococcus aureus. Penelitian ini bersifat eksperimental laboratorium dengan cara membuat formulasi dan sediaan obat kumur tanpa zat aktif sebagai basis dan kontrol negatif. Menyediakan obat kumur yang telah terjual dipasaran sebagai pembanding (kontrol positif). Membuat formulasi dan sediaan obat kumur yang berbahan aktif larutan fermentasi kombucha bunga telang yang meliputi konsentrasi gula 20%, 30%, dan 40%. Analisis data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah ANOVA one way dilanjutkan dengan uji lanjut berupa analisis pos hoc. Hasil penelitian ini telah terbukti bahwa formulasi dan sediaan obat kumur yang berbahan aktif kombucha bunga telang pada konsentrasi gula 20% tidak berbeda nyata dengan 30% dalam menghambat pertumbuhan bakteri Staphylococcus aureus, namun berbeda nyata dengan konsentrasi 40%. Hasil penelitian ini dapat disimpulkan bahwa konsentrasi 40% pada formulasi dan sediaan obat kumur yang berbahan aktif larutan fermentasi kombucha bunga telang merupakan perlakuan yang optimal dalam menghambat pertumbuhan bakteri Staphylococcus aureus.
