The purpose of this research are describing: 1) to enter and go out mail handling procedures at Subbagian Tata Usaha dan Arsip Bagian Umum Sekretariat Daerah Kota Pariaman, 2) to enter and go out mail handling obstruction at Subbagian Tata Usaha dan Arsip Bagian Umum Sekretariat Daerah Kota Pariaman. The data were collected through observation, interview, and document study. The conclude is: First, to enter mail handling procedures at Subbagian Tata Usaha dan Arsip Bagian Umum Sekretariat Daerah Kota Pariaman including: reception, registration, to convey, and process. To go out mail handling procedures at Subbagian Tata Usaha dan Arsip Bagian Umum Sekretariat Daerah Kota Pariaman including: to make mail concept, to type, to sign, to register, to copy, and to send. Second, obstruction from enter and go out mail handling at Subbagian Tata Usaha dan Arsip Bagian Umum Sekretariat Daerah Kota Pariaman that is work less from official, still few equipment and manual system of archives. This study aimed to: (1) describe how the bookmobile operations in the Office of Library Archives and Documentation Padang, (2) describe what benefits students in elementary school to 23 Ampalu Pengambiran city of Padang with the bookmobile in the Archives Library and Documentation Padang. Data were collected through observation and interviews with user and Librarians Library Archives and Documentation Office of the city of Padang. Analyzing the data be descriptive. By analyzing the data concluded: some benefits of mobile library services for pemustaka well as one means of promotion are as follows: (1) foster interest in reading in the middle of the community, (2) the bookmobile pemustaka easier to get the information needed (3) pemustaka away from public libraries can enjoy the library with the library, (4) the government can still understand the importance of education in the community (users) and be aware of the high interest in reading among children Indonesia. This paper focuses on the use of online public access catalog (OPAC) to improve the quality of library services at the State University of Padang. The purpose of this paper is (1) to describe the use of OPAC in the library of the State University of Padang and (2) describe any obstacles encountered in the use of OPAC in the library of the State University of Padang. This type of research used in this study is a qualitative research through observations and interviews.Based on analyzing the data can be summarized as follows: first, the use of the library OPAC in Padang State University have not been fully utilized by the users effectively and efficiently. Second, the constraints faced in the use OPAC at the State University of Padang is the lack of supporting facilities such as computer software, which is used OPAC user not friendlysehingga bit difficult for users to process information retrieval, and information presented in the OPAC are still not complete. That the use of OPAC in information retrieval can be done well, and can be reused as much as possible is recommended; Should Padang State University library in tackling problems in the use of the OPAC is to add facilities such as computers, giving guidance or direction to users on how to use OPAC ; Padang State University Library must make improvements to the field of information services that provide complete information. This paper aims to describe the development of the collection at the Library of SMA Negeri 1 Sungayang, analyze visits to the Library with librarian SMA Negeri 1 Sungayang, and to describe the efforts of library staff in increasing interest in a visit to the Library of SMA Negeri 1 Sungayang. From the data analysis it was found that: (1) building a collection of the Library of SMA Negeri 1 Sungayang not running optimally within the meaning of the collection has not been planned development on a regular basis, (2) visits to the Library librarian State sma 1 Sungayang relatively little on average only 21 6% per day during tahun2012, and (3) library staff efforts made to attract visitors to the Library of SMA Negeri 1 Sungayang (2) visits to the Library librarian SMA Negeri 1 Sungayang relatively little on average only 21.6% per day for tahun2012, and (3) library staff efforts made to attract visitors to the Library of SMA Negeri 1 Sungayang is to organize a library building to be attractive and comfortable place to visit, providing a new source of reading and in accordance with the requirements librarian, adequate facilities, and into force profetional library and library staff that is friendly to visitors. Of these findings are expected in future pay more attention to the principal collections of the Library, especially coaching SMA Negeri 1 Sungayang can be done on an ongoing basis and regularly. In addition, the library in order to run basic tasks and fugsion optimally, should libraries be managed by professional librarians library science background. This article discusses the role of School Libraries to Improve Student Reading Interest Class V 14 Laban Public Elementary School District of South Coastal District IV Jurai. Based on data analysis, concluded the following things. First, the role of the State Primary School Library 14 Laban District of South Coastal District IV Jurai as a source of learning and the development of students' interest in reading has not gone well. Second, the factors that lead to low student interest to visit Public Elementary School Library 14 Laban the District IV Jurai southern Coastal District are (1) lack of student interest in reading, (2) lack of collection, (3) incomplete infrastructure facilities library, (4) lack of activity promotion program library, and (5) not a professional librarian in the library field. Third, efforts to make students interested librarians to visit the library, namely, (1) building a library to organize interesting and comfortable place to visit, (2) provide a new source of reading according to the needs of students, (3) adequate facilities, (4 ) became a professional librarian, and librarians that is friendly to pemustakanya. The purpose of this research are describing: 1) the things that motivate university students in investigating information at Medical Faculty Library of Andalas University, 2) the factors that dominantly motivate university students in investigating information at Medical Faculty Library of Andalas University. The data were collected through observation and spreading questionnaire to the university students.Â Data analysis was done descriptively. Based on analyzed data, we can conclude that: First, the things that motivate university students in investigating information are: 1) sometimes librarian help university students to find materials that they need, 2) the university students have had objective that they want to reach, 3) the university students will be motivated if the information that is given by the librarian is attractive, 4) the librarians give admission to the university students, 5) the university students will be motivated if they are participated in a group, 6) doing the things that really motivate the university students, 7) the challenge will give motivation to the university students, 8) the university students need motivation support, 9) togetherness will motivate the university students. Second, the factors that dominantly motivate the university students in investigating information at Medical Faculty Library of Andalas University is internal factor that is come from the university students themselves. This study aimed to describe the characteristics and availability of literature cited in the Biomedical Sciences Graduate Student Thesis of 2012 in the Library of the Medicine Faculty, Andalas university. This study is descriptive quantitative research that is the subject of the entire thesis, which has 21 theses. Object of research is all citations contained in the bibliography thesis studied. Data collection techniques used was documentation technique with the application of citation analysis methods. Instrument that used is secondary data. Data analysis is the data tabulated and analyzed based on the percentage and it presented in tabular form. The results showed that the characteristics of the cited literature that there are 19 types of literature with a total number of 848 citations. Kind of literature the most widely cited is a book that is 399 citations (47,05%). Title of literature that is often cited is the Journal of Nutrition 18 citations (2,12%). Author who often cited is Guyton about 10 citations (1,18%). The dominant language of literature cited is Indonesian, namely 451 citations (53,18%). Half life literature cited in the thesis is 9,37 years. The Percentage availability of the cited literature as a whole is 57,55% and 42,45% not available at the Library of the Medicine Faculty, Andalas University. This paper focuses on a review of the school library to support teaching and learning activities at SMKN 5 Padang. This study aimed to describe: (1) a review of the school library to support teaching and learning activities at SMKN 5 Padang, (2) the constraints that inhibit an overview of school libraries in supporting teaching and learning activities at SMKN 5 Padang. Data were collected through observation and interviews with the head librarian at SMKN 5 Padang. Object of study of this thesis paper is the role of the school library at SMK 5 Padang. The data were analyzed descriptively. Based on data analysis, it can be concluded that the role of school libraries in supporting teaching and learning activities at SMKN 5 Padang this is not optimal due to inadequate facilities, the number of library managers were not enough human resources to manage and develop the library as a learning resource for students and teachers less professional, a collection of reading materials in the school library less complete, as well as the students' interest in school libraries are very less. Preparation of this paper aims to: (1) Knowing about the media than conventional filing in the Office of Libraries, Archives and Documentation of Bukittinggi. (2) Knowing the constraints that affect the transfer of conventional media file in the Office of Libraries, Archives and Documentation of Bukittinggi. To obtain information on the issue, conducted direct observation Perputakaan Office, Archives and Documentation of Bukittinggi and direct interviews with archivists. Conclusions are obtained as follows: (1) knowledge of the staff archivist in the technology field is very low. (2) Lack of equipment and technology as well as in the processing room archives inadequate. (3) Lack of funds and the budget of the government of Bukittinggi is the bottleneck in the implementation over conventional archival media. (4) As a center of information, education and research need to perform a wide range of businesses that should be planned, implemented as possible in making improvements to realize the function and purpose of the archive. This paper aims to determine: (1) student responses on Information Science Program for Libraries and Archives in the Information Services Unit, State University of Padang, and (2) the constraints faced by libraries in providing services to pemustakanya. To obtain information on the issue, conducted direct observation by means of questionnaires / questionnaires to students of Library and Information Sciences archives. Analyzing data descriptively. Penganalisian based on the data, it was concluded the following matters, namely there are several factors that affect services in libraries, among others: (1) The role and function of libraries (2) library collection (3) Facilities and Libraries (4) librarian. Based on the results of the questionnaire / poll that has been processed, it appears that the Administration Services Unit at the State University of Padang already said good although there are still shortcomings in terms of ministry.
