Abstract

Not yet known the basic ability of spatial thinking of high school students at the beginning of the meeting. Resulting in geography learning that is done is not in accordance with the needs of students. Valid test instruments are needed to determine students' spatial thinking skills. This study aims to develop a spatial thinking ability test instrument from indicators developed by Sharpe and Huynh. The quantitative descriptive method was used in this study to test the validity, reliability, different items, the level of difficulty, and the correlation between items using ANATES software version 4.0.9. The results of the study showed that as many as 25 items of feasible questions were used to measure the spatial thinking skills of high school students. The ability of spatial thinking possessed by students can be improved and developed by applying geography learning in accordance with the capacity of spatial thinking abilities.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine: (i) How are the student learning outcomes on the set material using group investigation type cooperative learning? (ii) Can using the group investigation type cooperative learning improve student learning outcomes on set material?. This research is a classroom action research conducted in two cycles, with the subject of the research being 25 students of class VII1 SMP Negeri 5 Ternate City. Data analysis used the 5 scale benchmark (PAP) and the value of gain. Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that: (i) the learning outcomes of Class VII1 students of SMP Negeri 5 Ternate City in studying the set material increased after the action was taken, namely the initial test 22 students (88.0%) failed qualifications, 1 student (4.00%) ) good qualification, 1 student (4.00%) has sufficient qualification, 1 student (4.00%) has less qualification, and in the initial test there are no students who get special qualifications. Cycle I, 12 students (48.0%) failed qualifications, 4 students (16.0%) had good qualifications, 2 students (8.00%) had sufficient qualifications, 7 students (28.0%) had poor qualifications. In the second cycle, 6 students (24.0%) had special qualifications, 14 students (56.0%) had good qualifications, 5 students (20.0%) had sufficient qualifications. (ii) Student learning outcomes in the first cycle were 0.46% in the medium category, and in the second cycle it was 0.77% in the high category. So the use of cooperative learning type (GI) can improve the learning outcomes of Class VII students of SMP Negeri 5 Ternate City.

Abstract

The purpose of this study (i): To find out the implementation of problem solving learning on the material of linear equations of two variables for class X students of SMA Al-Khasanah City of Tidore Islands? (ii) To find out the magnitude of the increase in students' critical thinking skills through problem solving learning models on the material of linear equations of two variables in class X SMA Al-Khasanah City of Tidore Islands? This type of research is classroom action research (Class Room Action Research). The CAR design in this study uses the Kemmis and McTaggart model which includes four steps (steps), namely (1) action planning; (2) implementation of actions; (3) observation; and (4) reflection. This research was conducted in class X SMA Al-Khasanah Tidore Islands, which consisted of 16 students. Data collection techniques using observation, documentation, and test techniques. Quantitative data analysis techniques used descriptive statistical analysis. The results showed that students' critical thinking skills and learning outcomes increased from cycle I to cycle II. The percentage of achievement in the first cycle of students' critical thinking skills is a percentage of 68.75% which is in the critical category in the second cycle of students' critical thinking skills with a percentage of 93.75% increasing by 25%. Improved learning outcomes in the first cycle obtained data 9 students 56.25% completed learning and 7 students 43% had not finished learning with an average class of 62. Cycle II there were 15 students (93.75%) completed learning and 1 student (6.25 %) have not finished studying with an average value of 77.37. Based on these data, student learning outcomes using the problem solving model obtained an increase, from cycle I to cycle II (37.50%) with an average increase of 15.37.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the level of difficulty of math items and the ability level of students based on the results of the School Examination. This research method uses a quantitative descriptive approach. The subjects in this study were 29 students of SMA IT Albina City of Ternate who took the school exams for the 2021/2022 academic year. There are 35 multiple choice items to be analyzed. The research instrument used student answer sheets. Data analysis used the Rasch model approach with the help of the Winstep program. The results showed that the acquisition of test reliability was 0.46 or included in the moderate category. The results of the analysis of the items using the winsteps program show that out of 35 items the difficulty index is between +2 and -2. There are no items that have an item difficulty index of more than +2 and less than -2. So it can be concluded that all items have a good category. The results of the analysis of students' mathematical abilities in answering questions with the Rasch model using the help of the Winstep program showed that out of 29 students, 21 students had moderate abilities and 8 students had low abilities.
