Abstract

West Sumatra is a province that is around active volcanoes and has high rainfall. This condition forms a waterfall of 29 points or even more. In today's modern era, the functions and roles of social media such as Facebook, Line, Whatsapp, Twitter, and others are very important in providing information about unexplored waterfall ecotourism destinations. This article aims to describe the utilization of social media in disseminating waterfall attractions in West Sumatra. Writing is done based on observations and literature review from various secondary sources. The results of the analysis found several obstacles from the location of ecotourism waterfalls, among others, the absence of supporting tourist attractions, locations that are still difficult to follow, the management is still simple by the surrounding community and lack of security and comfort when tourists visit. This is a challenge for stakeholders in West Sumatra in this case the tourism office, city and district. It takes cooperation between academia, investors, and the community in planning and developing one of the alternative destinations in West Sumatra, namely waterfall ecotourism.

Abstract

The decreasing of environmental quality in padang is caused by the changes of the land, the increasing number of vehicles and the increasing number of population. The solution to overcome these problems is by providing a green open space at universitas negeri padang (unp). The objectives of this study are 1) to analyze the needs of green open space at unp, 2) to plan the construction of open green space at unp. The method employed in this study was survey by using spatial analysis remote sensing data from google earth. The results of the study revealed that unp had open green space as large as 7.643 ha. The area of green open space at unp that fulfilled the width criteria was as much as 10%, and the fulfillment of population and clean air criteria was as much as 20%. However, the minimum width criterion of green open space, which was as much as 30%, was not fulfilled yet. The discrepancy between the area of open green space and the criteria of minimum width (30%) was 0.447 ha. Such lack of green open space can be filled by: optimizing the unoccupied land as large as 1.4 ha by planting the clump, providing 2308 flower’s pots, and making use of building shelter and building lobbies, and campus corridor to be planted with clump, ornamental plants or other types of epiphytes and lianas.

Abstract

Kompetensi yang harus dimiliki siswa SMA yang mempelajari geografi adalah kemampuan dalam berpikir tentang keruangan (Spatial Thinking). Kemampuan ini digunakan sebagai modal menghadapi persaingan global pada masa revolusi industry 4.0. Mengetahui kemampuan berpikir spasial siswa membutuhkan instrumen yang mampu mengukur secara detail kemampuan yang dimiliki siswa SMA. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui validitas soal: realibilitas, daya beda butir soal, tingkat kesukaran dan korelasi antar butir soal kemampuan berpikir spasial siswa SMA. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif kuantitatif yang dianalisis dengan software ANATES. Berdasarkan analisis data diperoleh hasil: instrumen tes kemampuan berpikir spasial ini dapat digunakan secara maksimal karena daya pembeda soal dan tingkat kesukaran soal berfungsi dengan baik. Namun, kemampuan instrumen dalam membedakan tingkat kemampuan berpikir spasial antar siswa belum maksimal berfungsi dengan baik. Diperlukan pengembangan lebih lanjut dalam mengujicobakan instrumen ini sehingga mampu mengukur secara rinci kemampuan berpikir spasial siswa SMA.

Abstract

The competency that high school students need to have to study geography is spatial thinking ability. This ability was used as a basis to face global competition during the industrial revolution of 4.0. To understand the spatial thinking ability of high school students requires instruments that can measure in detail the abilities. This study aimed to determine the validity of questions consisted of reliability, discrimination power, level of difficulty and correlation between items of spatial thinking ability test for high school students. This research used a quantitative descriptive method that analysed using ANATES software. Based on the data analysis, the results obtained that the test instruments of spatial thinking ability can be used optimally because the discrimination power of the questions and the level of the question of difficulty worked correctly. However, the ability of instruments to discriminate the level of spatial thinking ability among students did not work maximally. Continuous development is needed to test these instruments so that this was able to measure in detail of spatial thinking skills for high school students.

Abstract

Pendidikan tidak bisa terlepas dari sebuah sistem yang mengaturnya. Sistem tersebut memiliki struktur dan fungsinya masing-masing. Semakin baik sebah struktur maka setiap elemen akan berjalan seimbang (fungsional). Indonesia dengan beragam masalah sosialnya, seringkali yang disalahkan adalah pendidikannya. Karakter bangsa yang bobrok merupakan bentuk dari ketidakberhasilan pendidikan diindonesia. Meski demikian sistem pendidikan tetap eksis berada ditengan masyarakat. Apalagi jika pendidikan dilihat dari sudut pandang struktural fungsioal, pendektan ini cendrung mengabaikan pertentangan-pertentanagan yang ada di masyarakat. Dari alasan diatas, penulis tertarik untuk menganalisis perkembangan teori struktural fungsional dalam sosiologi pendidikan menurut beberapa teoritisi dan ahli sosial yang menulis buku dan jurnal mengenai sosiologi pendidikan dalam perspektif struktural fungsional. Tulisan ini berupaya untuk menganalisis perkembangan sosiologi pendidikan di Indonesia berdasarkan perspektif Wuradji, Nanang Martono, Damsar, Silfia Hanani, Muhammad Rusydi Rasyid, dan Binti Maunah dari segi teori struktural fungsional. Metode penelitian ini mengggnakan jenis library research (kajian pustaka), yaitu penelitian yang sumber datanya diperoleh melalui studi pustaka atau lteratur-literatur terkait. Penelitian ini bersifat deskriptif komparatif analitik, yaitu menjelaskan,memaparkan dan menganalisis serta membandingkan pemikiran secara sistematis. Sehingga mudah untuk dipahami dan disimpulkan. Setelah dipaparkan kemudian dianalisis terkait dengan persamaan dan perbedan pemikirannya mengenai perkembangan teori struktural fungsional dalam sosiologi pendidikan. Hasil studi ini menunjukkan bahwa perkembangan sosiologi pendidikan dimulai dari: (1) Asal-usul teori struktural fungsional. (2) Perkembangan sosiologi pendidikan berdasarkan perspektif Wuradji, Nanang Martono, Damsar, Silfia Hanani, Muhammad Rusydi Rasyid, dan Binti Maunah dari segi teori struktural fungsional memiliki persamaan dan perbedaan. Persamaan dari kenam studi tersebut yaitu sama-sama membahas teori besar (ground theory) struktural fungsional, artinya tulisan tersebut membahas pendidikan dalam perspektif makro struktural fungsional. Sehingga sistem dilihat secara keseluruhan dan tampak full integration. Sedangkan perbedaanya terlihat pada analisis pendidikan dalam konteks struktural menggunakan pandangan teoritisi fungsionalisme yang berbeda. Selain itu terdapat konsep-konsep sosiologi yang berbeda-beda pada masing-masing studi dalam memahami pendidikan. Diantaranya ada yang membahas konsep sosialisasi, stratifikasi, interaksi, nilai dan norma, serta dinamika kelompok sosial.

Abstract

Not yet known the basic ability of spatial thinking of high school students at the beginning of the meeting. Resulting in geography learning that is done is not in accordance with the needs of students. Valid test instruments are needed to determine students' spatial thinking skills. This study aims to develop a spatial thinking ability test instrument from indicators developed by Sharpe and Huynh. The quantitative descriptive method was used in this study to test the validity, reliability, different items, the level of difficulty, and the correlation between items using ANATES software version 4.0.9. The results of the study showed that as many as 25 items of feasible questions were used to measure the spatial thinking skills of high school students. The ability of spatial thinking possessed by students can be improved and developed by applying geography learning in accordance with the capacity of spatial thinking abilities.

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini memberikan deskripsi tentang makna yang terkandung dari tanda dan simbol pada logo pemerintahan daerah di Propinsi Sumatera Barat. Metode deskriptif  kualitatif digunakan untuk mengkaji tema pada artikel ini dengan pendekatan semiotik. Pendekatan semiotik yang digunakan adalah analisis denotasi dan konotasi. Logo pemerintahan daerah yang dijadikan subjek penelitian mewakili daerah kepulauan, daerah pesisir, daerah dataran rendah dan daerah dataran tinggi. Unsur spasial untuk menganalisis makna logo menggunakan unsur spasial menurut Sharpe dan Huynh. Hasil penelitian menjelaskan makna yang terkandung pada logo pemerintahan daerah berasal dari kearifan lokal masyarakat setempat yang mewakili berbagai elemen fisik maupun non fisik. Salah satu makna yang terkandung adalah elemen fisik berupa unsur spasial. Hal ini menjelaskan bahwa pemikiran masyarakat Minangkabau sejak dahulu berasal dari unsur-unsur spasial dalam kehidupannya. Makna pada logo pemerintahan daerah perlu diungkapkan secara terbuka agar masyarakat dan pegawai pemerintahan dapat mengetahui dan memahami serta memaknainya sebagai kekayaan kearifan lokal yang harus dijaga, diamalkan dan dilestarikan.The purpose of this research is to provide a description of the meaning contained in signs and symbols on the logo of regional government in West Sumatra Province. Qualitative descriptive method is used to examine the theme in this article with a semiotic approach. The semiotic approach used is the analysis of denotations and connotations. The logo of the regional government that was used as the research subject represented islands, coastal areas, lowland areas and highland areas. Spatial elements to analyze the meaning of logos using spatial elements according to Sharpe and Huynh. The results of the study explain the meaning contained in the logo of regional government derived from the local wisdom of the local community which represents various physical and non-physical elements. One of the meanings contained is a physical element in the form of spatial elements. This explains that the thinking of the Minangkabau community has long been derived from spatial elements in his life. The meaning of the logo of regional government needs to be disclosed openly so that the public and government employees can know and understand and interpret it as a wealth of local wisdom that must be maintained, practiced and preserved.

Abstract

The integration of Islamic and science in Mobile Learning App (MLA) is an innovative and flexible digital learning media to help students learn during pandemic. This study aimed 1) to develop of MLA integrated with Islamic and science, 2) to determine the effect of MLA integrated with Islamic and science on students learning outcomes. This study used the Gall, Gall, & Borg Research and Development (R&D) model. The product fitness has been tested by the expert validators in learning media, materials, linguistics, and integration of Islamic and science, and the product effectiveness has been tested on students. The result showed that: 1) the integration of Islamic and science in MLA was fit to be used in learning with effective category and 2) the integration of Islamic and science in MLA was effective to improve student's learning outcomes in hydrosphere topic. Suggestions for media users include the following: 1) use media in an area with a strong network or internet connection; 2) conduct an outdoor study using mobile learning media; and 3) provide knowledge about using media before the lesson begins.This research provides positive energy for students as a provision to become agents of change in the 21st century, especially in mobile learning app based on Islamic and science.Research development using technology in science and Islamic curriculum also support to improve learning outcomes. Abstract

Abstrak: Aktivitas belajar, hasil belajar dan kemampuan berpikir spasial masih menjadi permasalahan dalam pembelajaran geografi. Guru memerlukan upaya dalam meningkatkan kualitas pembelajaran di kelas geografi melalui tindakan kelas. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengetahui implementasi model PBL berbantuan Kahoot dan Google earth untuk meningkatkan aktivitas belajar, kemampuan berpikir spasial, dan hasil belajar geografi siswa kelas XII MIA 5 SMAN 15 Padang. Data dikumpulkan menggunakan tes hasil belajar, tes kemampuan berpikir spasial, dan observasi. Data primer dianalisis secara deskriptif kuantitatif dan kualitatif. Hasil penelitian membuktikan bahwa; model PBL berbantuan aplikasi kahoot dan google earth mampu meningkatkan aktivitas belajar geografi, model PBL berbantuan kahoot dan google earth mampu meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir spasial, model PBL berbantuan kahoot dan google earth mampu meningkatkan hasil belajar geografi. Peran serta yang dilakukan untuk meningkatkan aktivitas belajar, hasil belajar dan berpikir spasial dijelaskan dalam hasil penelitian ini.   Abstract:  Learning activities, learning outcomes and spatial thinking skills are still a problem in learning geography. Teachers need efforts to improve the quality of learning in geography classes through classroom action. This study aims to determine the implementation of the Kahoot-assisted PBL model and Google Earth to improve learning activities, spatial thinking abilities, and geography learning outcomes for class XII MIA 5 SMAN 15 Padang. Data were collected using learning achievement tests, spatial thinking skills tests, and observation. Primary data were analyzed by descriptive quantitative and qualitative. The research results prove that; PBL models assisted by kahoot and google earth applications are able to increase geography learning activities, PBL models assisted by kahoot and google earth are able to improve spatial thinking skills, PBL models assisted by kahoot and google earth are able to improve geography learning outcomes. Participation is done to increase learning activity, learning outcomes and spatial thinking are explained in the results of this study.
