Abstract

Abstrak: Ketergantungan pada pemakaian pupuk urea yang tinggi mempengaruhi kualitas lingkungan terutama kualitas air permukaan di Desa Jago Kec. Praya Kab. Lombok Tengah. Salah satu alternatif mengurangi ketergantungan tersebut adalah penggunaan pupuk cair organik yang berasal dari limbah rumput laut mengingat melimpahnya rumput laut di Nusa Tenggara Barat. Kegiatan pendampingan masyarakat Desa Jago dalam mengolah limbah rumput laut menjadi pupuk cair telah dilakukan. Introduksi teknologi pengolahan dilakukan menggunakan metode fermentasi atau pengomposan. Mitra sasaran adalah anggota kelompok tani Tunas Harapan, Patuh Angen II, Timbul Jaya. Kegiatan dilakukan dengan mengenalkan manfaat limbah rumput laut sebagai bahan pupuk organik cair dan jenis pupuk berkualitas yang ramah lingkungan. Kemudian dilanjutkan dengan melakukan kerja praktek pengolahan limbah rumput laut melalui fermentasi menggunakan EM4 untuk meningkatkan kualitas pupuk. Hasil kegiatan peningkatan ketrampilan anggota kelompok tani dalam membuat pupuk organik cair yang berkualitas berbahan dasar limbah. Kegiatan ini dapat meningkatkan pemanfaatan limbah rumput laut sekaligus mewujudkan organic farming yang ramah lingkungan dengan tetap mempertahankan produktivitas tanaman pertanian.Abstract: The high dependence on the use of urea fertilizer affects the quality of the environment especially the quality of surface water in Desa Jago Kec. Praya Kab. Lombok Tengah. One alternative to reduce dependence is the use of organic liquid fertilizers derived from seaweed waste given the abundance of seaweed in West Nusa Tenggara. Community service activities in Desa Jago in processing seaweed waste into liquid fertilizer have been carried out. The introduction of processing technology is carried out using the fermentation or composting method. The target partners are members of the Tunas Harapan, Patuh Angen II, Timbul Jaya farmer groups. The activity was carried out by introducing the benefits of seaweed waste as a liquid organic fertilizer and an environmentally friendly type of fertilizer. Then proceed with practical work on processing seaweed waste through fermentation using EM4 to improve fertilizer quality. The results of activities improve the skills of members of farmer groups in making liquid organic fertilizer of high quality based on waste. Abstract

ABSTRAKLaboratorium kimia merupakan salah satu jenis laboratorium yang memiliki resiko sangat berbahaya dalam penyelenggaraan pendidikan, penelitian dan/atau pengabdian kepada masyarakat, sehingga laboratorium harus dikelola dan digunakan secara baik dan bijaksana. Pengoperasian peralatan sebagai salah satu aktivitas Good Laboratory Practice (GLP) merupakan aktivitas secara rutin dilakukan di laboratorium kimia. GLP dapat mewujudkan keselamatan kerja di laboratorium dan meminimalisir kerusakan peralatan akibat kesalahan operasi dan pemeliharaan instrumen. Kegiatan pengabdian ini adalah demo peralatan/instrumentasi Laboratorium Kimia Analitik FMIPA–Universitas Mataram. Metode kegiatan yang dilakukan yaitu pelatihan dan pendampingan yang berupa demo peralatan/instrumentasi meliputi kromatografi gas–spektroskopi massa (GC-MS), kromatografi cair kinerja tinggi (KCKT), spektrometer serapan atom (SSA) dan infra merah (FTIR). Kegiatan ini dilakukan untuk meningkatkan keterampilan dasar mitra dalam pengoperasian instrumentasi tersebut. Mitra kegiatan adalah 20 mahasiswa program studi Kimia semester lanjut (5-8). Keberhasilan kegiatan diukur dengan membandingkan skor tes mitra sebelum dan setelah kegiatan dilakukan. Kegiatan pengabdian berlangsung baik dan menghasilkan peningkatan pemahaman serta keterampilan mitra dalam mengoperasikan instrumen yang ditunjukkan dengan peningkatan skor tes mitra. Kegiatan ini diharapkan dapat mewujudkan GLP sehingga kegiatan penelitian dilakukan dengan aman dan efisien. Kata kunci: pelatihan; instrumen; good laboratory practise; mahasiswa. ABSTRACTChemical laboratory is one type of laboratory that has a very dangerous risk in the implementation of education, research and/or community service, so the laboratory must be managed and used properly and wisely. Equipment operation as one of the Good Laboratory Practice (GLP) activities is a routine activity carried out in chemical laboratory. GLP could realize work safety in laboratory and minimize instrument operation and maintenance mistake This community service activity was a demonstration of instrumentation of the Analytical Chemistry Laboratory, FMIPA–University of Mataram. The method of activity carried out are training and assistance in form of instrument demo including gas chromatography–mass spectroscopy (GC-MS), high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC or HPLC), atomic absorption spectrometer (SSA or AAS) and infrared spectrometer (FTIR). This activity is carried to improve basic skill of partner in operating of instruments. The activity partners are 20 students of the advanced semester (5-8th semester) in Departement of Chemistry. The success of activity was measured by comparing the partner’s test score before and after the activity was carried out.The service activity went well and could increase the partners' understanding and skills in operating the instrument. This activity is expected to realize the GLP so that research activities are carried out safely and efficiently. Keywords: training; instrument; good laboratory practice; student.

Abstract

ABSTRAKAsam humat telah diketahui memiliki dampak tidak langsung dalam perbaikan kualitas tanah di lahan kering, akan tetapi harga asam humat dalam jumlah banyak yang relatif tinggi tidak dapat dijangkau oleh petani. Hal ini yang mendorong pemanfaatan teknik modifikasi yang dapat mengurangi jumlah pemakaian asam humat tanpa mengurangi manfaatnya, yaitu dengan mengimobilisasi asam humat pada suatu material pendukung seperti rumput laut. Kegiatan pengabdian ini berupa penyuluhan kepada mitra tentang penerapan asam humat terimobil dalam rumput laut sebagai pelengkap pupuk yang dapat meningkatkan produktivitas tanah sehingga potensi lahan kering sebagai lahan pertanian meningkat. Mitra kegiatan adalah Kelompok Tani jagung “SBP 212” dan UPTD Dinas Pertanian Perkebunan Kelautan Kehutanan dan Perikanan (DPPKKP) Kec. Bayan. UPTD DPPKKP Kec. Bayan juga berperan dalam difusi Ipteks dan sebagai motor penggerak untuk menyebarkan kegiatan kepada anggota kelompok tani sasaran lainnya sehingga kegiatan dapat berkelanjutan. Keberlanjutan kegiatan diharapkan dapat terjaga untuk peningkatan potensi lahan kering sebagai lahan pertanian produktif yang ditandai dengan peningkatan produktivitas tanaman. Kata kunci: penyuluhan; asam humat; rumput laut; pelengkap pupuk; lahan kering. ABSTRACTHumic acid is known to have an indirect impact on improving soil quality in dry land, however, the price of humic acid in large quantities is too expensive for farmers. It was important to use of modified techniques that can reduce the amount of humic acid used without reducing its benefits, namely by immobilizing humic acid in a supporting material such as seaweed. The service activity, counseling to farmer group about application of immobilized humic acid in seaweed as fertilizer complement to increase soil productivity so that dry land as potential agricultural land increases. The partner of the activity is the “SBP 212” Corn Farmer Group and UPTD Department of Agriculture, Plantation, Marine, Forestry and Fisheries (DPPKKP) Kec. Bayan. UPTD DPPKKP Kec. Bayan also plays a role in science and technology diffusion and as mediator to disseminate the activities to other target farmer group members for sustainability of activity. It is expected that the sustainability of activities can be maintained to increase dry land uses as productive agricultural land that indicated by increasing of plant productivity. Keywords: counseling; humic acid; seaweed; fertilizer supplement; dry land.

Abstract

ABSTRAKKeamanan pangan merupakan kondisi pangan bebas dari cemaran biologis, kimia dan benda lain yang merugikan dan berdampak pada lingkungan dan kesehatan manusia. Residu pestisida sebagai salah satu cemaran kimia pada produk pertanian seperti buah dan sayur perlu diawasi penggunaannya sehingga dampak negatifnya dapat diminimalisir. Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat dalam bentuk sosialisasi pengawasan keamanan pangan segar asal tumbuhan (PSAT) dilakukan sebagai bentuk tanggung jawab bersama dalam pengawasan keamanan pangan. Kegiatan dilaksanakan bersama Dinas Ketahanan Pangan Kabupaten Lombok Barat dengan mitra sasaran para kelompok tani Lombok Barat sebagai produsen PSAT komoditi lokal. Tujuan dari pengabdian ini adalah untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan masyarakat petani Lombok Barat tentang dampak negatif penggunaan pestisida sehingga petani menggunakan pestisida sesuai dosis dengan penanganan yang tepat. Kegiatan dimulai dengan FGD antara Dinas Ketahanan Pangan Kabupaten Lombok Barat dan pihak Laboratorium Kimia Analitik sebagai mitra dalam pengujian residu pestisida dalam sampel komoditi lokal  sesuai SNI-06-6991-1-2004. Selanjutnya dilakukan ceramah sosialisasi pemaparan materi berikaitan dengan definisi pangan fungsional dan kemanan pangan, PSAT, bahan cemaran pangan dan penanganan pestisida. Hasil kegiatan adalah peningkatan pemahaman mitra yang diindikasikan dengan peningkatan skor test setelah kegiatan dibandingkan dengan sebelum kegiatan sosialisasi dilaksanakan. Kegiatan ini diharapkan menjadi upaya efektif dalam meningkatkan kesadaran masyarakat akan pentingnya keamanan pangan. Kata kunci: sosialisasi; keamanan pangan; pestisida. ABSTRACTFood safety is the condition of food without contamination by biological, chemical and other objects that harm to the environment and human health. Pesticide residue as one of the chemical contaminant in agricultural products such as fruits and vegetables need to be monitored so that its negative impact can be minimized. Community service activitiy namely socialization of food safety supervision of fresh plant origin (PSAT) is carried out as a shared responsibility in food safety supervision. The activity was carried out in collaboration with Dinas Ketahanan Pangan Kabupaten Lombok Barat with target partners of farmer groups as producers of local commodity PSAT in Lombok Barat. The purpose of this service is to increase the knowledge of the farming community about the negative impacts of using pesticides so that farmers use the right dose of pesticides with proper handling. The activity started with a FGD between Dinas Ketahanan Pangan Kabupaten Lombok Barat and the Analytical Chemistry Laboratory as a partner in testing pesticide residues in samples of local commodities according to SNI-06-6991-1-2004. Then, continued with socialization on material exposure related to the definition of functional food and food safety, PSAT, food contaminants and handling of pesticides. The result of the activity is an increase in partner understanding which is indicated by increasing in test scores after the activity compared to before the socialization activity was carried out. This activity is expected to be an effective effort in increasing public awareness of the importance of food safety. Keywords: socialization; food safety; pesticide.

Abstract

INTEGRATION OF PLANTATION, FISHERIES, AND LIVESTOCK TO ACHIEVE SUSTAINABLE FOOD HOUSES IN THE VILLAGE OF BANYU URIP, LOMBOK TENGAH. A service activity that is integrating of plantations, livestock and fisheries to realize a sustainable food house has been carried out. Banyu Urip Village is one of the villages in Gerung Subdistrict, West Lombok regency with the majority of the population as farmers and breeders. Almost every family head in the village of Banyu Urip has large yard and has not been used optimally. The use of land is needed as a source of food and family income through sustainable food house. Sustainable food house can be realized by integrating the use of home garden as land for planting various types of vegetables and fruits, livestock and fisheries. The method of activity is carried out through socialization and work practice regarding planting vegetables and fruits through horticulture technique, utulization of livestock manure as compost and household scale tilapia cultivation. The target partners of the activity are farmer group, family welfare group and student group, while the implemanting partners are some agent of Agricultural Service of Lombok Barat Regency. Integration of plantations, livestock and fisheries are expected to be able to fulfill their daily needs, moreover to improve community welfare.

Abstract

On the West Nusa Tenggara island of Lombok, a local plant called moringa (Moringa oleifera) is frequently found. Due to its high nutritional value, this plant can be consumed in almost all of its components, particularly the leaves and seeds. With the help of Flamboyan Women Farmers Group (Kelompok Wanita Tani Flamboyan) partners, this service activity was carried out by lecturing the public on the uses of moringa plants and other local flora as antiseptic soap and providing instruction on how to make soap from moringa seed oil. The activity's external advantages include: (1) enhancing farmer group mothers' knowledge of the advantages and potential of nearby plants; (2) facilitating the need for antiseptic soap for families; (3) enhancing mothers' motivation and creativity to create independent jobs in an effort to improve the family economy; and (4) producing publications in scientific journals. According to the outcomes of the community service projects, this training activity can improve the knowledge and skills of the women of the Flamboyan Farmers Group in the production of antibacterial soap using moringa seed oil.
