Abstract

GDP per capita is the average value of every citizen’s income which is obtained by dividing the GDP value of a country with the amount of citizens it has. GDP per capita can be used as an indicator to assess whether a country is successful and performs well economic wise. In Southeast Asia, the country with the highest GDP per capita is Singapore. One of the driving factors for Singapore’s success was Lee Kuan Yew’s assertive and semi-authoritarian leadership style. This style of leadership allowed Lee Kuan Yew to build a strong initial foundation for Singapore’s economic growth. As the economy of Singapore grows the value of GDP per capita also increases. One of the other factors that contributed to the increasing value of GDP per capita is Foreign Direct Investment (FDI). FDI can increase capitals and assets owned by a country and create new jobs opportunity that can increase the citizens income and thus increasing the overall value of GDP and GDP per capita. So it makes sense that Singapore, the country with the highest GDP per capita value in Southeast Asia, also has the highest value of FDI inflows. The aims of this study is to analyze the the impact of Lee Kuan Yew’s leadership style and FDI toward the increasing value of Singapore’s GDP per capita value. From this analysis we have concluded that both Lee Kuan Yew’s leadership style and FDI inflows have positive impact toward the increase of GDP per capita.

Abstract

Until now the COVID-19 pandemic has not subsided and has had a huge impact on the world economic conditions. One of the community groups affected by this condition is the college students in Universitas Internasional Batam, whereas most of the students are self – financing for their studies. The main objective of this community service activity is to increase the understanding of UIB students about money management and investment through infographics which contain information to be conveyed so that students can easily understand. This activity was divided into three stages, namely extracting initial information about the level of knowledge of UIB students regarding money management, designing infographics, and finally distributing and disseminating the resulted infographics. By using infographics, hopefully, could help students in managing finances so they can avoid financial problems and know the importance of providing emergency funds that can be saved in the form of investments because the investment is also one way to get additional income. The infographic has been socialized through social media, especially in some webpages related to Universitas Internasional Batam. Based on a poll conducted on students who have read the infographic, 92% of them said this infographic was useful, and it could increase their understanding of money management and investment.

Abstract

AbstractLack of society’s awareness related to financial planning will have an impact on financial needs, both short-term and long-term financial goals. In meeting these financial needs, two types of funds that must be known are emergency fund and pension fund. The purpose of this study is to describe the level of importance of emergency fund and pension fund and how to manage them so that people are supposed to be aware and start thinking about their readiness and plan to fulfill the two funds. This study uses descriptive qualitative analysis with a scientific approach based on valid and reliable sources according to the facts on the ground. The results of the research discussion emphasize that the society must first understand their financial needs so that their management can run optimally and sustainably. In an emergency fund, the placement of funds must be in liquid and short-term financial instruments. Whereas in pension fund, the placement of fund can be done in long-term financial instruments as the fund will only be used when old age. Various financial instruments that can be used as placements for emergency and pension funds, namely time deposits, money market mutual funds, gold, stocks and bonds.Keywords: emergency fund; pension fund; management; investment.  AbstrakKurangnya kesadaran masyarakat terkait dengan perencanaan keuangan akan berdampak pada kebutuhan finansial, baik itu tujuan keuangan jangka pendek maupun panjang. Dalam memenuhi kebutuhan finansial tersebut, dua jenis dana yang harus diketahui adalah dana darurat dan dana pensiun. Tujuan dalam penelitian ini adalah untuk mendeskripsikan tingkat kepentingan dana darurat dan dana pensiun serta cara mengelolanya sehingga masyarakat diharapkan dapat sadar dan mulai memikirkan kesiapan serta rancangannya dalam memenuhi kedua dana tersebut. Penelitian ini menggunakan analisis kualitatif deskriptif dengan pendekatan ilmiah yang didasari sumber valid serta reliabel sesuai dengan fakta di lapangan. Hasil pembahasan penelitian menegaskan bahwa masyarakat harus memahami terlebih dahulu kebutuhan finansial mereka supaya pengelolaannya dapat berjalan secara optimal dan berkelanjutan. Pada dana darurat, penempatan dananya harus pada instrumen keuangan yang likuid dan berjangka pendek. Sedangkan pada dana pensiun, penempatan dananya dapat dilakukan pada instrumen keuangan yang bersifat jangka panjang sebagaimana dana hanya akan terpakai ketika masa tua. Berbagai instrumen keuangan yang dapat dijadikan penempatan dana darurat yang bersifat dan pensiun, yaitu deposito, reksadana pasar uang, emas, saham dan obligasi.Kata kunci: dana darurat; dana pensiun; pengelolaan; investasi.

Abstract

PT. Astra Honda Motor adalah sebuah perusahaan manufaktur yang bergerak di industri penghasil produk berupa kendaraan seperti mobil, motor, dan perlengkapan alat-alat kendaraan. Sebagai sebuah perusahaan manufaktur yang memiliki aktivitas operasional, tentu diperlukan manajemen operasional untuk memastikan bahwa tahap dan prosedur aktivitas operasioal tersebut dilakukan secara baik dan benar. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk memahami lebih dalam kebijakan manajemen operasional PT. Astra Honda Motor sebelum, selama, dan sesudah pandemi, dan melakukan analisis bagaimana kebijakan tersebut telah membantu perusahaan untuk bertahan selama masa pandemi. Objek penelitian adalah PT. Astra Honda Motor, dan penelitian ini adalah penelitian kualitatif yang dimana penelitian dilakukan dengan analisis data berdasarkan landasan teori manajemen operasional. Teori manajemen operasional yang akan dianalisis adalah project management, managing quality, process strategy, dan location strategy. Hasil dari analisis menemukan bahwa PT. Astra Honda Motor terus melakukan penyesuaian dan perencanaan ulang pada kebijakan manajemen operasionalnya untuk menyesuaikan kondisi pasar dan ekonomi, oleh karena itu perusahaan masih terus bisa bertahan meski terdapat masa sulit yang disebabkan oleh fenomenca Covid-19

Abstract

Ahong Grocery store is an MSME that is engaged in selling products that are basic needs of the community such as rice, flour, sugar, spices, cooking spices, eggs, cooking oil, and others. Since running the business, Ahong Grocery Store has continued to experience an increase in revenue every year. But even so, Mr. Ahong as the owner of the business admits that the net income earned is only enough to finance operational activities, home loans and daily needs, so he hopes that there are ways to increase business income. In this practical work, planning and implementing promotional and marketing strategies to sell products are carried out by utilizing social media as a promotional platform in order to increase business sales and increase income. Data collection was carried out by interviewing the owner of the store, and the data obtained is primary data in the form of partners' monthly sales income for the period 2010-2021 along with the products and prices of the products sold. The data analysis method is carried out quantitatively by analyzing partners' sales income data in the form of numerical figures and analyzing the increase in business income during the promotion implementation period. The method of analysis was also carried out qualitatively by interpreting the relationship between increased income and the promotion strategy implemented. The result of the practical work is that the partner's monthly income has increased by 17% since the implementation of the promotional strategy on social media, and the partner's Instagram accounts have managed to garner a total amount of 252 followers. Based on the results of practical work, it is recommended that partners continue to plan promotional strategies and implement them because it is proven that promotions through social media can increase business sales and income.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisa peran manajer terhadap kinerja keuangan pada PT. Bank Tabungan Negara Tbk untuk periode tahun 2018 sampai dengan tahun 2022. Objek yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah PT. Bank Tabungan Negara Tbk. Metode penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode analisis dokumen dan literatur. Kinerja keuangan dalam penelitian ini diukur dengan menggunakan rasio-rasio keuangan, yang terdiri atas rasio profitabilitas, likuiditas, dan solvabilitas. Untuk Rasio Profitabilitas diwakili oleh Return on Assets (ROA), Return on Equity (ROE), dan BOPO. Untuk Rasio Likuiditas diwakili oleh Current Ratio (CR). Sedangkan, untuk Rasio Solvabilitas diwakili oleh Debt to Equity Ratio (DER). Berdasarkan hasil penelitian dapat ditemukan bahwa, manajer mempunyai peranan penting dan signifikan terhadap kinerja perusahaan. Diperoleh juga hasil berupa persentase ROA antara 0,13%-1,81%, ROE antara 1,00%-16,42%, BOPO antara 85,58%-98,12%, CR antara 0,73%-1,98%, DER antara 1,11%-1,61%. Untuk peneliti selanjutnya direkomendasikan untuk menggunakan variabel lain dan menambah periode penelitian untuk memperluas lingkup penelitian.
