Abstract

Mangrove ecosystems are one of the most important areas in maintaining the level of diversity of organisms in the sea. Mangrove damage is caused by abrasion, lack of heeding of the carrying capacity of the coastal environment, and lack of knowledge and awareness of the community around the coast about mangrove ecosystems ecologically / economically. This research was conducted in January – March 2021 in Bira Village, Tamalanrea District, Makassar City, South Sulawesi Province. This study aims to determine the level of mangrove damage, find out damage factors and calculate the estimated value of mangrove ecosystem damage claims in Bira Village, Makassar City. This research used a survey or direct observation method. The results showed that mangrove vegetation in Bira Village is low with very little species diversity. The level of mangrove forest destruction is still in the good category with a percentage of 30.89%. The causative factors are due to the felling of mangrove trees for fuel, infrastructure development, and coastal abrasion. Based on rehabilitation costs referring to P.8 / KSDAAE / SET / REN.2 / 10/201 concerning Activity Standards and Costs for Conservation of Natural Resources and Ecosystems in 2018, a total rehabiliation cost of Rp. 350,220,000 was obtained with a total mangrove forest area of 10 Ha.

Abstract

Vannamei shrimp (Litopenaeus vannamei) is a fishery product that is able to generate foreign exchange for the country besides tiger prawns. This shrimp has the advantage of being more resistant to environmental conditions and disease. Feed plays an important role in its cultivation because it absorbs the largest cost of 60-70% of the total production cost. At present, there are still many farmers, both traditional and modern, who have not carried out effective feeding because of the high cost of providing feed. Amazon sailfin catfish, Pterygoplichthys pardalis are invasive fish in waters that need to be limited in population development by using them. One form of utilization is to make it a fish meal product and then it becomes a raw material for feed. This study aims to analyze the use of P. pardalis meal as feed for vaname shrimp. The test animals were vaname shrimp with a weight of 3.35±0.5 g; total length 6±0.5 cm, first acclimatized for 5 days. The percentages of using broomstick fish meal were 25%, 30%, 35% as treatment and commercial feed as control feed. The study used a completely randomized design (CRD) with 4 treatments and 3 replications. Research for 60 days, the dose of feed given is 5% with a frequency of 5 times a day. The parameters observed were: absolute growth (PM), daily growth (PH), daily growth rate (LPH), feed conversion (KP), feed efficiency (EF) and survival (KH). Data were analyzed for variance (ANOVA). The results showed that the higher the percentage of P. pardalis meal, the better the response of vannamei shrimp to growth parameters, but based on the analysis of variance, it showed that the treatment not significant all the parameters observed.

Abstract

Public transportation in Makassar City is not yet well integrated, be it physical integration (routes and modal shift facilities), schedule integration, and service integration (tariffs). The existence of a new mode, namely Sahabat Bus, is considered not to improve the condition of public transportation in Makassar City, but instead takes over the function of the existing city transportation. The purpose of this research is the first to find out the characteristics of the bus friend's passenger journey and the second is to find out the type of integration that can be done by bus friends and city transportation. The method used is the analysis of boarding and alighting points of passengers overlaid with bus route maps and city transportation to produce alternative stops and new stops at nodes and road sections. The results of the study show that 2. The form of physical integration that can be carried out is in the form of adding stops or points for boarding and alighting passengers at 37 alternative node points or on 15 alternative road sections based on the points and segments traversed by both modes of city transportation and Friend Bus. While the non-physical form can be carried out by collaboration between each manager or by creating a new institution specifically to operate public transportation

Abstract

Bira Village, Tamalanrea District, Makassar City is one of the villages that has extensive mangrove forest potential. The people of the village have a very high dependence on the mangrove ecosystem, but their understanding and concern for the importance of maintaining the mangrove ecosystem is still low, even though in Bira Village there are Community Leaders who have received the Kalpataru Award from the Government of the Republic of Indonesia. This PKM aims to increase partners' understanding of ecological and biological aspects and improve partners' skills in mangrove planting. PKM activities will be held on January 5, 2022 in Bira Village, Tamalanrea District, Makassar City. The implementation methods carried out are 1) Education about aspects of mangrove ecology; 2) Education on aspects of mangrove biology; 3) Mangrove planting training. The implementation of the service activities went smoothly and received very high appreciation by partners (Lantebung Mangrove Observer Group); Partners' skills in choosing and how to plant mangroves are improving. The community really hopes to be given assistance in a sustainable manner, not only for ecological and biological interests but also economic interests.

Abstract

Ornamental fish farming in Makassar City is growing rapidly, both as a main livelihood and as an alternative. Demand continues to increase and prices are high, causing many people to cultivate freshwater ornamental fish, both as breeders and enlargement activities. One species of ornamental fish that has high economic value is koi fish (Cyprinus carpio). Along with the higher demand and the hope that new varieties will be found, cultivators/breeders are trying to do crosses. However, low lineage records and the use of unselected parents lead to frequent inbreeding. To obtain high-quality fish seeds, good parental quality, skills in reproduction, spawning, hatching, larval rearing and harvesting are needed. The ornamental fish cultivating group in kelurahan Balang Baru, kecamatan Tamalate, Makassar City as partners, was held on November 21, 2021. The aims of the PKM are: 1) Increasing public knowledge and understanding through counseling about the biology and reproduction aspects of koi fish; (2) Training on procedures for selecting broodstock, selecting and preparing broodstock for the process of reproduction, mating, spawning, hatching, rearing larvae, harvesting and packing. The expected outputs from this activity are: cultivators who become partners who understand the reproductive biology aspects of koi fish and are skilled at carrying out brood selection procedures, selecting and preparing broodstock for reproduction, mating, spawning, hatching, and larval rearing processes
