This study aimed to determine the potential of freshwater fish aquaculture in Minasatene District, Pangkep Regency, South Sulawesi Province. Data collection techniques were carried out by observing the location of freshwater fish aquaculture, interviewing respondents using questionnaires and documentation. The type of data collected is primary data, namely observation data regarding the distribution of freshwater fish aquaculture locations, types and quantities of freshwater fish production as well as supporting data through interviews with respondents of freshwater fish aquaculture business actors related to the activities carried out, then secondary data from agencies related to production results. Freshwater fish in Minasatene District. This research was conducted in Minasatene District, Pangkep Regency, South Sulawesi Province, in February – April 2021. The results of this study are the aquaculture potential of freshwater fish in the Minasatene sub-district of 1.28 tons/year/ha with the largest producer of freshwater fish coming from Minasate'ne Village and Kalabbirang Village with potential production of tilapia, catfish and koi fish. Factors affecting the production of freshwater fish aquaculture in the Minasatene sub-district are the number of abandoned freshwater fish aquaculture lands, non-optimal management, traditional management, dependence on government assistance, the influence of COVID-19, and conversion of cultivated land into tourist areas.

Abstract

Hasilpenelitian didapatkan 8 jenis mangrove yakni Rhizophora mucronata, Rhizophora lamarckii,Rhizophora apiculata, Nypa fruticans, Sonneratia alba,Avicenia marina, Avicenia officinalis,Xylocarpus granatum. Vegetasi mangrove di tiap kecamatan pesisir Kabupaten Bone didominasioleh kategori pohon yang memiliki kerapatan berkisar 1.600-10.200 individu/ha. BerdasarkanKeputusan Menteri Lingkungan Hidup tahun 2004 tentang kriteria baku mutu kerusakan mangrovedapat disimpulkan bahwa, kondisi mangrove di tiap kecamatan Kabupaten Bone berada dalamkondisi “baik” dengan tingkat kerapatan “sangat padat”. Kerapatan tertinggi dijumpai diKecamatan Awangpone Desa Kajuara dengan nilai kerapatan mencapai 10.200 individu/ha,sedangkan kerapatan terendah ditemukan di Desa Usto Kecamatan Mare dengan kerapatanpohon1.600 individu/ha. Nilai kepadatan relatif tertinggi dari jenis Nypa fruticans (35,94%),sedangkan untuk nilai indeks penting jenis Rhizophora mucronata (56,72%) dan Sonneratia alba(51,08%) memiliki nilai yang paling tinggi dibandingkan dengan 6 jenis mangrove lainnya yangterdapat pada lokasi pengamatan .Kata kunci :kondisi, vegetasi mangrove, wilayah pesisir, Kabupaten Bone.

Abstract

Mangrove ecosystems provide various ecological and economic functions, such as environmental services as an ecotourism area. This study aims to determine the factors that influence plastic waste on the socio-economic life of coastal communities in the Lantebung area. The data in this study are primary data obtained from interviews with respondents with structured questions and statements. The data collection method with structured interview and data analysis used in this research is an impressional statistical method with an SEM approach. The results of the data analysis, the factors that affect plastic waste are the volume of waste with a loading factor value of 0.966.  In contrast, the factors that affect the social economy is a loading factor value of 0.732. Plastic waste has a significant relationship to the socio-economic community, with a P value of 0.018 less than 0.05. The direction of the relationship between plastic waste and the socio-economic community is negative, with -0.240, meaning that the higher the plastic waste, the socio-economic community in the Lantebung mangrove area will decrease.

Abstract

Fishing communities in South Sulawesi are known as Punggawa-Sawi. Numerous researches have shown that the partnership between punggawa-sawi is considered as an “exploitation”, judging from its profit-sharing system. Purse seine is a Tuna fishing vessel with 5 to 8 sawi and 1 punggawa. The focus of this study is to explain the fisherman’s preference of performing partnership with the punggawa and the values they implement between the work system. There are 8 groups of purse seine fisherman as the sample with a consideration that there were similarities in the pattern of working relationships and fishing activities. This research used qualitative approach and analyzed by descriptive correlation. The results showed that the recruitment of sawi by the punggawa was based on affinity (25%), experience (12,5%), needs for the ship operation (62,5%). The termination of the applicant can be caused by untruthfulness (50%), illness (12,5%), career change (37,5%). The compensation that is originally accepted by the sawi who quits, will be moved to the afflicted ones. The reasons to become sawi is (1) blood relative (20%), assurance of family economic sustainability (65%), and (3). Difficulty to find another job (15%). The profit-sharing system by the retainer is based on 3 reasons, i.e: (1), retainer investment (55%) (2), high risk (30%) and continuing the existing system (20%). Punggawa-sawi fishing communities have strength in the value of social relations that are built on the basis of shared needs (62.5%) and trust (37.5%). The existence of the punggawa-sawi is because of the social security provided to the retainer’s family (87.5%), both in the form of loans and assistance, and the personality of the retainer (12.5%).

Abstract

Makassar City is one of the cities in Indonesia, with a large population and rapid economic activity with office buildings, settlements, industry, ports and other facilities such as trade, entertainment and tourism centres. This has attracted attention due to the need for more land to support the growth and development of the City area. One way to create new space in beach reclamation. The local government utilizes the coastal area to carry out various activities. One of the areas adjacent to Makassar City, which is used as mining for reclamation, is North Galesong District, Takalar Regency. Dredging sand for reclamation creates social conflict for the people of North Galesong. Excessive and uncontrolled use of sea sand can damage its carrying capacity. In addition to environmental impacts, socio-economic impacts are a significant problem in areas affected by sand mining and carried out by business people and the government in supporting the development of the Center Point of Indonesia CPI and New Port. Responding to these problems, this study aims to analyze the impact of sea sand mining on the socio-economic community of Aeng Batu-Batu Village, North Galesong District, Takalar Regency. The research method used is a case study investigating various phenomena. The population in this study is related to and directly impacts sea sand mining with a sampling technique, namely Non Purposive Sampling. The survey results show that sand mining activities in Aeng Batu Batu Village, North Galesong District, Takalar Regency have a socio-economic impact on the local community, which has a very significant impact on the conditions before and after sea sand mining activities. These impacts are: 1) Disturbing the activities of small fishermen, namely by the back and forth and the activities of sea sand mining companies. 2) Reducing the catch of fishing line and gill net fishermen by up to 80%. 3) Disturbing fishing operations, namely by disturbing the target habitat of fishermen. 4) Disturbing the fishing area so that the fishing ground changes, which results in increased operational costs.
