Abstract

The text of Jn 15:14-15 speaks of the friendship between Jesus and His disciples, between God and man. Jesus, The Logos became flesh (Jn 1:14), reveals in Himself a God who befriends man and gives His own life because of the love of friends (Jn 15:13). The initiative in this relationship is God, and therefore being His friends is a gift, a condition of 'grace'. For Jesus, the disciples are friends and not servants. The reason for this fact is given both by the commandment of love and the knowledge of the revelation of Jesus. Thetext of John15:14-15is part of thechapter, showsthatthe secondfarewell discourseat the Last Supper, and is divided into2 parts: the metaphorof the vine (15:1-17) andthe hatred of theworld (15:18-27). Many scholarsdivided thefirst partinto two sections; the metaphor of thevine and the branches (15:1-11) andthe commandment of love (5:12-17). Therearemany differences betweenservantand friend, butinthis verse of (15:15), Jesus clearlyshows only onethat is knowledge. Aservant does not knowwhathis master is doing, so he does nothave the knowledgeof the secretsof the master. Instead, Jesus gaveto His discipleswhat he hadheard from His Father. They, then, have the knowledge. Jesushasrevealed to themHisdivine mysteries, its secrets, andwhenthe disciplesse, know andaccept them, andstillbelievein Him, they become friends (cf. Jn1:35-51; 2:11; 6:68-69; 14:1-31a). The knowledgeof His secrets, then, is the central pointthat distinguishesthem as friends.

Abstract

Underscrutinized psalms of 93, 100, 121, 126 and 128 are underlaying and performing the very essence of the God of Israel as the merciful, loving and liberating God. Nothing is to lose with the God of Israel. The essence of the God of Israel as the eternal King (Ps.93), the faithful Keepguarder (Ps. 121) and the Hope of Israel (126) provokes and invites the people of Israel to hail and to adore Him in His Holy Place (Ps. 100) in order to get and to inherit His plentiful Blessings (Ps. 128). In other words, those who have the holy fear to God and faithfully obeying His commandments deserve God’s blessings. On these theological perspectives we have investigated the Catholic parishioners and its leaders of St. Peter and Paul’s half Parish - Oesapa, to find out howfar they have performed and embodied the mercy of God and obeying His commandments. And they are making effort and advancing in serving the Church and obeying the God’s commandments.

Abstract

Kedisiplinan diri adalah kunci utama dalam meraih prestasi belajar. Kedisiplinan akan membantu seorang mahasiswa dalam memanajemen waktunya dengan seefektif dan seefisien mungkin untuk belajar. Namun hanya dengan memanajemen waktu tanpa sebuah pengendalian diri maka niscaya kedisiplinan tidak akan terjadi. Di tengah era new normal, kedisiplinan diri bagi setiap mahasiswa merupakan sebuah keharusan. Mengingat sistem pembelajaran dilakukan secara daring, dengan menggunakan pelbagai platform media pembelajaran online. Pada titik ini, sistem pembelajaran ini menjadi peluang sekaligus menjadi tantangan baru dalam dunia pendidikan. Untuk memberikan pemahaman dan membangun kedisiplinan mahasiswa dalam proses pembelajaran demi mencapai prestasi akademik yang baik, maka perlu dilakukan upaya penyadaran bagi para mahasiswa. Kelompok mahasiswa yang menjadi sasaran pengabdian ini adalah mahasiswa di asrama rusunawa Universitas Katolik Widya Mandira Kupang. Metode yang digunakan adalah pemaparan, diskusi dan evaluasi kegiatan pendampingan penguatan kedisiplinan. Hasilnya para mahasiswa menemukan sendiri dalam proses bahwa kedisiplinan itu penting dalam pembelajaran untuk mencapai prestasi akademik. Dengan kesadaran ini, mahasiswa didorong untuk membangun komitmen berdisiplin dalam manajemen pembelajaran. Kunci keberhasilan dalam proses pembelajaran manapun adalah kedisiplinan diri.Kata kunci:Pandemi covid-19, pembelajaran online, kedisiplinan diri, pengendalian diri

Abstract

Persoalan ekologis mencakup dua hal. Di satu sisi ada realitas kerusakan alam yang masif oleh ulah manusia. Di sisi lain ada kenyataan minimnya kesadaran ekologis pada sebagian besar masyarakat. Berhadapan dengan kedua kenyataan ini semua komponen masyarakat bertanggung jawab untuk mengatasi persoalan ekologis, baik mengenai kerusakan alam maupun minimnya kesadaran masyarakat akan tanggung jawab ekologis. Gereja Katolik sebagai bagian dari masyarakat manusia turut berjuang membangun kesadaran ekologis dan aktif dalam berbagai upaya konkrit memulihkan lingkungan alam yang rusak. Katekese ekologis menjadi salah satu sarana Gereja Katolik dalam membangun kesadaran ekologis yang bermuara pada pertobatan ekologis. Melalui katekese Aksi Puasa Pembangunan, Gereja Katolik Indonesia ikut ambil bagian dalam upaya mewujudkan keadilan ekologis bagi seluruh ciptaan. Keuskupan Agung Kupang juga menyiapkan bahan katekese ekologis bertema “Keadilan ekologis bagi seluruh ciptaan; Semakin mengasihi, lebih peduli”. Bahan ini disosialisasikan kepada para para fasilitator yang berasal dari paroki-paroki sekota Kupang.  Kegiatan pembekalan katekese ekologis ini bertujuan memberikan pemahaman kepada para fasilitator katekese agar dapat melaksanakan kegiatan katekese ekologis di masa Prapaskah 2023 dengan baik. Hasil yang diharapkan adalah adanya kesadaran umat dan perubahan perilaku ekologis terhadap alam dengan membangun keadilan ekologis bagi seluruh ciptaan, mulai dari lingkungan keluarga masing-masing..

Abstract

Sensus penduduk dalam skala desa adalah perhitungan jumlah penduduk desa secara periodik atau pengumpulan data yang dilakukan melalui proses pendataan. Sesudah pendataan pemerintah desa mengolah data penduduk yang dapat digunakan untuk meningkatkan efisiensi dan efektivitas dalam hal pelayanan masyarakat. Demikian pula halnya Desa Oemasi, Kecamatan Nekamese, yang melaksanakan sensus penduduk desa pada bulan Januari-Februari 2023. Kendala yang dialami adalah proses pengolahan data masih secara manual karena kurangnya pengetahuan, pemahaman, dan keterampilan aparat desa dalam penggunaan aplikasi Microsoft Excel sederhana. Proses input data secara manual menghabiskan banyak waktu, dan hasilnya kurang akurat, karena sering terjadi kekeliruan dalam penghitungan jumlah. Solusi atas masalah ini adalah pendampingan untuk membantu aparat Desa Oemasi menangani proses pengolahan data. Metode yang digunakan adalah belajar sambil berproses atau learning by doing. Aparat Desa Oemasi diberikan penjelasan tentang aplikasi Microsoft Excel sederhana, sambil ditunjukkan cara mengoperasikannya dan sekaligus menginput data penduduk. Hasilnya aparat Desa Oemasi mendapatkan pengetahuan dan keterampilan mengoperasikan aplikasi Microsoft Excel sederhana dan menerapkannya dalam pekerjaan mengolah data desa.

Abstract

The Scriptures is a way of life for human beings who believe in Catholicism. The holy Bible contains the word of God which is an inspiration for human beings of faith to manage life properly and correctly. Therefore, it is very important to pronounce the scriptures for the faithful as expected by the Second Vatican Council (Dei Verbum 25). Responding to the wishes of the Council, the Bible Study for the Catholic Charismatic Prayer Fellowship of the Liquica Parish, Timor Leste, was carried out as part of community service. The Catholic Charismatic Prayer Fellowship consists of Catholic faithful who need guidance in reading and studying the holy scriptures. The method used is an explanation of the scriptures and techniques for reading and studying the texts of the scriptures in a simple way. As a result, the participants gained a global understanding of the scriptures and simple techniques for reading and studying the scriptures.

Abstract

Education is a systematic and programmed effort to develop all aspects of human life so that they become mature and balanced. Therefore the development of various actual and adequate educational methods is needed to support human development. Among the various methods that have been successfully developed, the Jigsaw Cooperative Learning Method is one that is very well practiced in today's learning environment. The jigsaw cooperative learning method aims to develop intellectual abilities and train students' social sensitivity. Realizing this use, the author carries out community service activities in the form of the Jigsaw Cooperative Learning application at Santo Yoseph Kuaputu Catholic Elementary School, which aims to develop the intellectual aspects and social sensitivity of students. The result achieved is the growth of intellectual capacity and social sensitivity in interactions in the classroom and in the local social environment.

Abstract

Saving is an art of managing finances by setting aside money and saving it for later use when there is an urgent need. Knowledge and skills in managing finances should be instilled in early childhood. Children need to be given an understanding so that they are skilled at managing finances from a young age and it will benefit them in the future. The target of this community service activity is the children of Oemasi Village with an age range of 6 to 12 years who are at the Santo Yoseph Catholic Elementary School of Kuaputu. The method used is to provide knowledge about saving to children through dialogue, quiz games and distributing piggy banks to train children's knowledge and skills in saving. As a result, children have understanding and a willingness to save.

Abstract

Organic fertilizers come directly from plant or animal sources. One type of organic fertilizer is bokashi fertilizer. Bokashi fertilizer is produced from the fermentation of organic materials such as compost and manure by utilizing the help of decomposing microorganisms such as microbes or fermenting fungi. The result is in the form of solid fertilizer and the condition has decomposed so that it contains more macro and micro nutrients which are ready to be absorbed by plant roots. The use of organic fertilizers in agriculture is in accordance with agricultural efforts in harmony with nature which is healthy and brings benefits to both the soil and also to humans. The vegetable farming community in Tarus Village is one of the producers of vegetables that are supplied to the needs of the city of Kupang. Healthy vegetables presuppose the use of organic fertilizers, not chemical fertilizers. The high level of interest in the people of Kupang City for healthy vegetables has made vegetable farmers try to adjust production to consumer demand. The training on making bokashi fertilizer is beneficial for vegetable farmers in the Tarus Village to answer the needs and health of consumers.

Abstract

Road development planning is a type of infrastructure development, which functions as a fulfillment of one of the community's needs. Road construction includes the process of opening traffic spaces to connect one area to another. Road construction aims to get comfortable, safe and economical roads for the people who use them. Thus, it makes it easier for road users to reach a location and produces a high level of comfort and safety. The construction of the sirtu road and complementary buildings in hamlet III, Oemasi Village will greatly assist the people in Oemasi Village to expedite the flow of distribution of goods and services and economic activities in Oemasi Village. This requires good planning. This prepared plan is a solution for the Oemasi Village government to build roads according to community needs with a transparent and accountable budget.
