Abstract

The balance between cognitive and mathematical affective abilities is very important to be mastered by students in order to face future challenges. Background of the research is based on the students’ low ability of mathematical problem solving and mathematical learning activeness. The purpose of this research is finding the relation between students’ mathematical problem-solving ability and students’ mathematical learning activeness by using Realistic Mathematics Education approach using GeoGebra. The method in this research is the experimental research in the form of pre-test-post-test Control Group Design. In addition, the population for this research is the entire Public middle schools (SMP Negeri) in West Bandung regency. From all public middle schools in West Bandung, a school named SMP Negeri 3 Batujajar is randomly selected, and two classes of the 1st-gradestudents of the school are selected as the research sampling data. The first class becomes an experimental class which gains learning using GeoGebra assisted realistic mathematics educational approach and the other class gets common learning. The result of the research shows that there is a more positive relationship between mathematical problem-solving ability and mathematical learning activeness of learning by using Realistic Mathematics Education approach with GeoGebra rather than using common learning. In addition, the approach gives positive impacts, such as more interactive learning, understanding concepts, and more meaningful learning.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of the Problem Based Learning approach through the cooperative learning model of the Team Assisted Individualization (TAI) type, toward the problem solving skills of vocational high school students. The population in this study were all students of SMK Industri Mandiri Karawang, with each 20 selected samples from class X-TKJ and AKA. The instruments used were a test of problem solving skills as many as 5 items. The result of the study show the achievement of problem solving abilities of students who get learning with the Problem Based Learning approach through the cooperative learning model Team Assited Individualization type is better than the class that uses ordinary Problem Based Learning.

Abstract

This type of research is a classroom action research. This study aims to examine the improvement of mathematical problem solving ability of junior high school students on the opportunity material. This research was conducted on the students of class IX-C SMP Mahardhika Batujajar academic year 2017/2018 with the number of students 34 people. The instruments used are cycles I and II (after giving of action); and an observation sheet on teachers and students for the conditions of action implementation. The procedures of this study consist of: (1) Planning, (2) Implementation of action, (3) Observation and evaluation, and (4) Reflection. The results showed that students' mathematical problem solving ability in the subject matter could be improved through contextual approach.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to find the correlation between mathematical generalization skill and student’s self-concept in learning activities by using learning strategy based on VBA’s Microsoft Excel. Experimental method is used in the research with 2 different classes. The first class is given by VBA Microsoft Excel learning based, while the other class is given common learning method. In addition, the data sample used in this research are all Junior High School in Cimahi, one school is selected randomly and SMP Negeri 4 Cimahi has been selected. The Sample chosen is the 8th grade pupils which selected randomly. One class as experiment class, and the other is controlled class. The result of the research is obtained from mathematical generalization skill test instrument of phytagoras and self-concept skill inquiry as non-test instrument. Mathematical generalization skill post-test result and final inquiry are analyzed by using Spearman to find the correlation. The result shows that there is a correlation between mathematical generalization skill and student’s self-concept in learning mathematics.

Abstract

Students mastery of mathematical communication ability can be one of benchmark to know the level of students understanding about the material that has been submitted. Mathematics is not only a tool for thinking but also math can be a tool to communicate an idea. This research aim is to describe the mathematical communication ability of class IX SMP. The research takes place in one of SMP in Bandung Regency. The mathematics material that discussed is about polyhedron. Data were taken from the results of the test instrument about the ability of mathematics communication. The samples that researcher used are about 30 students of class IX SMP. The results of this research showed the percentage of students' mathematics communication ability at 31% that means most of the students have a low percentage of understanding mathematics communication.

Abstract

The objective of this research is to analyze theimprovement of problem solving ability from students at VIII grade on material of two variables linear equationssystem thtough open ended approach. This research uses Classroom Action Reserch. The method of the  research is descriptive. The research is conducted to VIII H grade student of  SMP Negeri 9 in academic year 2017/ 2018 which consist of 40 students. The instrument is the testof students’ mathematical problem solving ability, cycle test I and II after giving action. The result aspectof this research shows that the aspect of students’ mathematical problemsolving ability increased, it can be seen from the result of the test, many studentsachive above beverage score (KKM).Bsed on indicator, it concludes that students’ problem solving ability at VIII H grade of SMP Negeri 9on material of two variables linear equations system can be improved through open ended approach

Abstract

Pengetahuan dan pengalaman kepada seluruh komponen sekolah untuk tanggap terhadap bencana merupakan salah satu upaya meminimalisir korban bencana. Kemampuan dari seluruh komponen sekolah untuk mengurangi risiko bencana di lingkungan sekolah, dengan membangun kesiapsiagaan melalui penguatan pengetahuan dan sikap, implementasi rencana tanggap darurat, kebijakan kesiapsiagaan sekolah serta sistem peringatan dini sekolah dan kemampuan memobilisasi sumberdaya sekolah, sebelum, saat dan sesudah bencana datang. Metode yang digunakan pada kegiatan ini adalah pemetaan partisipatif dengan melibatkan seluruh unsur warga MTsN 2 Bone. Hasil kegiatan ini diperoleh peserta pelatihan baik siswa maupun guru telah memahami konsep madrasah tanggap bencana. Pengetahuan warga sekolah terhadap hal hal yang dapat mengakibatkan bencana dalam lingkungan sekolah sudah dapat diprediksi, sehingga dapat meningkatkan kepekaan mereka terhadap menjaga lingkungan sekitarnya. Pengabdian ini menghasilkan output berupa atribut dan peta madrasah tanggap bencana.

Abstract

This research is based of low mathematics creative thinking ability from students in Vocassional High School in order to be needed study method to solve that problem. Alternatife of study method and strategy is use Mind Mapping method by Thinking Aloud Pair Problem Solving (TAPPS) strategy. The purpose of this research is to identify weather achievement of mathematics creative thinking ability of students in High School through use Mind Mapping method by Thinking Aloud Pair Problem Solving (TAPPS) strategy is better than use convensional study. The population in this study were vocational high school students in Bandung, while the sample was SMK MAARIF Cicalengka and selected two classes randomly from all of the existing XI class. Then from the two classes are assigned randomly into the experimental class and control class. The experimental class received learning get Mind Mapping Method by Thinking Aloud Pair Problem Solving (TAPPS) strategy and control class gained regular learning. The instrument used is the test of creative thinking ability mathematically. Based of the calculation and hypothesis test concluded that the achievement of creative thinking ability of mathematic of students who get Mind Mapping Method with Thinking Aloud Pair Problem Solving (TAPPS) Strategy is better than those who get regular learning.

Abstract

This study intended to studied student’s ability to mathematical creative thinking and mathematical disposition of student who receive contextual approach compared to those who receive regular learning. Method use in this study is Experiment Method. Population in this study is the students of Junior High School in West Bandung Regency while the sample is SMP Negeri 1 Cihampelas and two classes are randomly chosen from all existing VII grade. From those two classes randomly appointed which will be the experiment class and control class. Experiment Class receive learningwith contextual approach while Control Class receive regular learning. Instrument used are mathematical creative thinking ability test and mathematical disposition scale. From the result and hypothesis testing concluded that increasing ability to mathematical creative thinking and mathematical disposition of students who receive contextual approach learning are better than those that receive regular learning.

Abstract

The problem that becomes background of this research, the abilitity of mathematical understanding of students is still lowThe purposes of this research are to know the influences of the use of active learning model type Everyone is a Teacher Here on raising the abilitity of mathematical understanding of students and to know students response of mathematics learning by using mathematics learning model. The method that is used in this research is Experimental, with research design Non-Equivalent Control Group Design. The research is done in SMP N 1 IBUN. The population in this research is all of students of class VII-C as experiment class and class VII-B students as control class that is choosed randomly. And the instrument that is used is mathematical understanding test, observation sheet of students learning activity and questionnaire. In this research obtained qualitative data and quantitative data. Based on analysis of the result of the abilitity of mathematical understanding test concluded that active learning model type Everyone is a Teacher Here has positive effect on abilitity of mathematical understanding of students in mathematics learning. While based on analysis of observation sheet and questionnaire concluded that there is raising students learning activity in mathematics learning by using active learning model type Everyone is a Teacher, and the students give positive response on mathematics learning by using active learning model type Everyone is a Teacher Here
