Abstract

The objective of this research is to know what is antisocial disorder that was conducted by watching the dark knight movie. In this paper, the writers used descriptive qualitative method by visited the library and browsed of internet to get the references and data that related to the topic. For data collection, all information was collected by librarian research to obtain the theories of literary work and all support information that related to the objective of the research. The next stage was analyzing of The Dark Knight movie by watching it several times . The result of this research indicated that; (1) there are seven symptopms of antisocial disorder that occurred in joker character such as failure to conform to social norm, deceitfulness, impulsivity, irritability and aggressiveness, reckless disregard for safety of self or others, consistent irresponsibility, and lack of remorse (2) antisocial disorder in joker character developed by childhood trauma and abuse which is caused by his father’s treatments (3) there are three moral messages that can learned from the dark knight movie such as humanity, teamwork, and consideration.

Abstract

The objective of this paper is to know about popular culture especially type of popular culture which occurred in today society and the moral value. This analysis is done based on the source of movie is Confessions of a Shopaholic which focuses on main character only. The writer uses descriptive qualitative method for this analysis which focused on Brummet’s theory of popular culture as the main subject. The result indicates that there are two types of popular culture based on Brummet’s category, there are top down and bottom up. First is top down, which consist of eight points: branded-product, fancy store, shopaholic, credit card, look, property, taxi, and gadget. Second is bottom up, which consists of two points, there are: boot and coat. The writer considered that the most dominant type from those two types and ten points is top down. While for the moral values from the movie, the writes takes six points there are: confront the expenditure, do not let things define you, cost and worth are very different things, credit cards are not magic wands, lying is not a good idea, and everything happens for a reason.  Keyword: Main Character, Movie, Popular Culture.

Abstract

Abstract- This research aimed to understand the categories of code mixing in Sarah Sechan programme. This research uses qualitative descriptive since the data collected were collected by watching the TV program. The data of this study was the sentences that contained code mixing within the extent of words, phrases, clauses or sentences which were found in utterances between the hosts and guests in Sarah Sechan program on Net TV. The source of information was Sarah Sechan talk show. The technique of data collection applies during this study was documentary technique and therefore, the instrument of information collection was recorder. The data was collected by downloading the video Sarah Sechan programme through official channel. Then, she transcribed each of the host and the guests’ utterances while they talked, commented, interacted and responded one another. After doing analyzing, the researcher roll out some facts. This type of insertion and external code mixing are dominant for this episode. Key words: Code Mixing, Sociolinguistic, Sarah Sechan Talk Show Program
