Abstract

This meta-analysis research was conducted with several objectives. First is analyzing that influence given by the problem-based learning model of students' critical thinking skills. Second is to analyze the magnitude of the influence exerted by the problem based learning model based on the level of education (SMA and SMP). The third is to review the magnitude of the influence of using the problem-based learning model based on the material being taught (Work and Energy, Fluid, Substance Pressure, Motion, Elasticity, Harmonic Vibration, Electric Current and Electrical Resistance, Temperature and Heat). The fourth examines the magnitude of the influence of the problem-based learning model based on grade levels (VII, VIII, X and XI). The method used in this research is meta-analysis, which is to analyze 20 articles from existing research. Obtained 4 effect size values from the research that has been done. For the effect size, the ability to think critically is 2.25 which is in the high category. Aspect effect size based on the level of education is 2.43 for SMA level. The effect size for the aspect based on the material is 2.99 for the fluid material and the effect size for the aspect based on the grade level is 3.33 at grade XI level.

Abstract

The 2013 curriculum contains 4 components, one of which is literacy skills. One of the important literacy skills in learning physics is scientific literacy. Physics learning is always closely related to practicum which requires practicum tools such as the physics practicum KIT. The reality found in the field is the KIT for physics practicum in schools is available but has not been utilized optimally by teachers and the worksheets used have not been integrated with scientific literacy. This study aims to determine the validity value of the student worksheet integrated scientific literacy for the use of physics practicum KIT. The type of research carried out was research and development on Sugiyono's book which consisted of 10 stages, but in this study it was only limited to the design revision stage. The object that is the focus of research is the student worksheets used in schools. The data analysis technique used in this research is descriptive statistics, namely validity analysis. Based on the research, it can be concluded that the validity score of the LKS integrated with scientific literacy for the use of KIT practicum was obtained from an analysis of content eligibility with a value of 0.87; language component with a value of 0.85; clarity component with a value of 0.87 and a graphic component with a value of 0.89. The average validity value of the integrated scientific literacy worksheet for the use of the physics practicum KIT is 0.87 which is classified as very valid.

Abstract

One of the efforts to improve the quality of education carried out by the Indonesian government is the implementation of the 2013 curriculum revision. The revised K-13 learning is expected to form students' critical thinking patterns in solving the problems. One of the components required is scientific literacy. In the learning process observed during the needs analysis at SMAN 1 Lubuk Alung, scientific literacy has not been fully integrated into learning. Moreover, the practicum KIT contained in the school laboratory is complete, but it rarely used by teachers in learning. The purpose of this research was to determine the validity of the scientific literacy integrated student worksheet for the use of practicum KIT in temperature and heat. Research and development (RD) was used the Sugiyono model. Sugiyono's RD research model consisted of 10 stages, but in this study, it was limited to the design revision stage. The data analysis technique used was validity analysis. Based on the result, scientific literacy integrated worksheets for the use of physics practicum KIT in temperature and heat had produced. The product had an average value of 0,93 with a very valid category. Therefore, it can be concluded that the scientific literacy integrated worksheets for the use of physics practicum KIT in temperature and heat developed were very valid. This scientific literacy integrated worksheet is expected to be useful for students and teachers in the learning process, especially learning in the laboratory
