Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kepedulian siswa terhadap lingkungan dan penguasaan konsep siswa terhadap materi pengelolaan lingkungan di SMP Negeri 1 Jekulo Kudus. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian pre-experimental design dengan pola one group pretest-posttest design yang diterapkan pada kelas VII B dan VII C. Pengambilan sampel menggunakan teknik convenience sampling. Penilaian kepedulian siswa terhadap lingkungan diambil dari skala psikologis kepedulian siswa dan hasil observasi, sedangkan untuk penguasaan konsep diambil dari perbandingan N-gain nilai pretest-posttest. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa nilai rata-rata skor psikologis siswa yakni 71,03% dan rata-rata N-gain untuk penguasaan konsep 0,46 pada kelas VII B dan 0,47 pada kelas VII C. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, pembelajaran biologi yang mengarah pada penanaman karakter peduli lingkungan dapat meningkatkan kepedulian siswa terhadap lingkungan dan penguasaan konsep siswa pada materi pengelolaan lingkungan This study aims to increase the students environmental awareness and concept mastery of the environmental management material in SMP Negeri 1 Jekulo Kudus. This study was a Pre-Experimental Design with One-Group Pretest-Posttest Design which was applied to the class of VII B and VII C. Samples were collected by convenience sampling. Students’ environmental awareness were assessed by the use of the psychological scale and observations, while the mastery of the material concepts were drawn from a comparison of N-gain pretest-posttest scores. The results showed that the average of students psychological scale scores  is 71,03% and the N-gain average of the concept mastery was 0.46 in VII B class and 0.47 in VII C class. the study results support that biology class which orient the students to develop their environmental awareness character can improve the students environmental awareness and mastery concept of environment management.

Abstract

Implementation of Conservation and Environmental Education (PKLH) courses is expected to foster mental attitudes and conservation behaviors of Univeritas Negeri Semarang (UNNES) students. This is in line with the application of UNNES as a conservation university that aims to support the protection, preservation and utilization of the environment as stated in the seven pillars of conservation. Although this course has been implemented since 2010, this does not have an effect on student attitudes, as does student participation in disposing of waste according to rules that are still limited. The survey was conducted on 385 respondents to analyze the attitudes and conservation behaviors of students who have taken PKLH courses, as well as analyze the relationship between attitudes and student conservation behaviors. Data was taken using a psychological scale of attitudes and behaviors. Attitudes are measured based on cognitive, affective and conative aspects, while behavior is measured based on the seven pillars of UNNES conservation. Results showed that the conservation attitude of students who had taken PKLH courses was included in the high category, while the conservation behavior of students showed a moderate category. Correlation test shows that there is a positive and significant relationship between attitude and behavior.
