Abstract

Implementation of Jelajah Alam Sekitar-based worksheets (JAS) aims to improve student learning outcomes at SMPN 38 Semarang. JAS-based worksheets were developed by utilizing the environment around the school. Environmental problems are presented based on observations of environmental conditions around the school. Environmental problems around the school are presented in practical activities to increase student participation in learning. Experimental class learning using JAS-based worksheets with sources of environmental problems. The control class uses worksheets created by the teacher, learning with a cooperative model with a discussion method. This research uses a Quasi experimental design method with a Non-equivalent Control Group Design design. The population of this research is all students of class VII SMPN 38 Semarang. The research sample was determined by a purposive sampling technique, namely class VII D and class VII A. The results showed that the learning outcomes of the experimental class students were better than the control class in terms of cognitive, psychomotor and affective aspects (discipline and cooperation attitude). The results of the cognitive and psychomotor aspects t-test results were respectively obtained tcount (0.05) = 4.63 and tcount (0.05) = 4.18 with ttable = 2.001 then tcount> ttable, meaning that there were significant differences in results cognitive and psychomotor learning of students between the experimental class with the control class. Results of student? environmental care attitude in this research were not significant.

Abstract

Instrumen penilaian yang digunakan di sekolah SMA Negeri 1 Krangkeng belum berorientasi pada keterampilan berpikir tingkat tinggi. Hakikat dari biologi, tujuan pendidikan nasional dan perkembangan jaman menuntut keterampilan berpikir tingkat tinggi. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk menganalisis instrumen penilaian di sekolah, mengembangkan instrumen penilaian untuk mengukur keterampilan berpikir tingkat tinggi, dan menguji efektivitas serta kepraktisan instrumen. Jenis penelitian ini adalah Research and development. Prosedur pengembangan produk melalui tahap penelitian pendahuluan dan pengembangan. Pada tahap pendahuluan terbagi menjadi dua, yaitu studi lapangan dan studi literatur. Tahap pengembangan, melalui beberapa bagian, yaitu 1) menyusun jenis instrumen, 2) validasi ke pakar, 3) ujicoba skala terbatas dan 4) ujicoba skala luas. Hasil dari penelitian ini adalah jenis instrumen yang digunakan di sekolah memiliki tingkatan taksonomi kognitif C1 sampai C2, kadang digunakan C3. Instrumen penilaian yang dikembangkan adalah tes esai analisis, lembar performa berpikir, dan tes problem solving. Instrumen dinyatakan valid, reliabel, dan praktis. Instrumen juga berpengaruh positif terhadap hasil belajar kognitif. The type of assessment instruments used in the school were not oriented toward higher-order thinking skills. The nature of biology, national education goals and challenges of science and technology development of thinking skills require more than just the basic thinking. The purposes of this study were: 1) to analyze the assessment instruments used in the school, 2) to develop assessment instruments used to measure higher-order thinking skills, and 3) to test the effectiveness and practicality of the instrument. The type of study was Research and development. The procedure of product development were the preliminary research and development. In the preliminary research, the study was divided into two stages, they are the field of study, and literature study. The development stage started by constructing the type of instruments, validation of the expert,  limited testing  and extensive testing. The results of this study showed that the type of instruments used in the school were  in the range of cognitive taxonomy of C1 and C2 and sometimes used the C3 and concept-oriented. Assessment instrument developed were essay anlysis test, the sheet of students’ thinking performance, and problem solving test. The instruments were declared valid, reliable, and practical. The instruments were declared effective because it  showed positive impact on learning outcomes.

Abstract

Asesmen merupakan bagian integral dari proses pembelajaran sains. Aspek-aspek yang diukur dalam sains menentukan strategi pembelajaran dan jenis asesmen. Selama ini, aspek yang diukur masih terbatas pada kemampuan kognitif dan belum mengarah pada penguasaan literasi sains. Tujuan penelitian adalah untuk mengembangkan instrumen asesmen autentik berbasis literasi sains pada materi sistem ekskresi berdasarkan analisis kebutuhan disekolah. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan adalah Research and Development, dengan desain penelitian pretest posttest control group design. Subjek penelitian ujicoba skala kecil adalah 10 siswa anggota KIR SMAN 3Semarang, dan ujicoba skala luas adalah 68 siswa kelas XI IPA SMAN 3 Semarang. Produk penelitian berupa peer assessment, penilaian unjuk kerja, proyek, portofolio, sikap, dan tes. Hasil pengembangan instrumen asesmen autentik berbasis literasi sains menunjukkan bahwa instrumen asesmen valid, reliabel, efektif, dan tingkat kepraktisannya tinggi. Hal ini ditunjukkan oleh rata-rata validitas menunjukkan kriteria sangat tinggi. Keefektivan instrumen ditunjukkan dengan perubahan positif hasil belajar siswa, peningkatan indeks gain berada pada kisaran sedang, dan adanya pengaruh positif penerapan instrumen asesmen terhadap hasil belajar. Kepraktisan instrumen asesmen ditunjukkan oleh adanya respon positif siswa dan guru. Assessment is an integral part of the learning process of science. Measured aspects in determining science learning strategies and types of assessment. During this time,aspects ofthe measured is limited to cognitive abilities and not lead to mastery of science literacy. The research objective is to develop authentic assessment instrument based on material science literacy excretion system based on analysis of school needs.The type of the research was Research and Development, and pretest posttest control group design. The limited-scale subjects were 10 scientific group students of SMAN 3 Semarang, and the implementation-scale subjects were 68 students of Grade XI IPA of SMAN 3 Semarang. Product research is peer assessment, performance assessments, projects, portfolios, attitudes, and test.The research analysis showed that the science literacy based authentic assessment instrument developed in the study was valid, reliable, effective, and practical. This was shown from the very high score of the validity mean. The effectiveness of the instrument could be shown from the positive changes on the students’ study outcomes, with the gain index in medium rate, and the positive impact of the instrument implementation on the students’ study outcomes. The assessment instrument was considered practical based on the positive responses from students and teachers.

Abstract

Pembelajaran IPA di SMP Negeri 13 Magelang selama ini belum menerapkan pembelajaran bervisi konservasi dengan pendekatan scientific skill. Pembelajaran masih menggunakan metode ceramah sehingga kurang aplikatif dan kurang memotivasi siswa dalam belajar Hal ini menyebabkan karakter konservasi siswa belum berkembang dengan baik. Oleh sebab itu perlu dikembangkan perangkat pembelajaran biologi bervisi konservasi dengan pendekatan scientific skill melalui pengolahan sampah organik di sekolah dan menguji efektifitas serta kepraktisan perangkat pembelajaran untuk menanamkan nilai-nilai konservasi siswa. Metode yang digunakan adalah Research and Development dengan menganalisis kebutuhan kemudian mengembangkan produk dan diuji validitas, efektivitas, dan kepraktisanya hingga diperoleh produk final. Produk yang dikembangkan adalah perangkat pembelajaran bervisi konservasi  dengan pendekatan scientific skill yang  meliputi silabus, rencana pelaksanaan pembelajaran (RPP), bahan ajar, lembar diskusi siswa (LDS), dan lembar penilaian scientific skill. Hasil penelitian berupa perangkat pembelajaran IPA materi lingkungan hidup bervisi konservasi dengan pendekatan scientific skill pada pengolahan sampah organik di sekolah cukup valid, praktis dan efektif untuk diterapkan dalam proses pembelajaran. Hasil uji coba menunjukkan rata-rata respon siswa 97,57% atau sangat baik,  rata-rata nilai  scientific skills siswa  3,53 atau baik, hasil  t-test menunjukkan sig = 0,001 = 0,1% < 5 % dan nilai rata-rata  konservasi siswa sebesar 89,43 berada dalam kategori sangat baik.   Science teaching learning at Sekolah Menengah Pertama Negeri  13 Magelang at present has not applied yet the conservation  vision, using scientific skill approaches. Teaching learning process still uses lecturing methods, consequently it is not applicative and motivating students. It also makes student conservation character is not developed yet. Because of the needs, this study was aimed at developing science teaching tools grounded in conservation using scientific skill approaches through student activity ‘making compost’ at schools, and  testing its effectiveness and practicability, in terms of  student conservation values.  The method used is research and development by analyzing needs and then develop products and test their validity, effectiveness, and convenience to the final product obtained. products developed are learning devices visionary approach to conservation with scientific skills include syllabi, lesson plans, teaching materials, sheet student discussions, and scientific skills assessment sheet. The results of the research are: the science learning device of living space in conservational vision using scientific skill approach is valid, practice and effective to apply in teaching learning process. The result of the experiment shows the average of students responses 97. 57% (very good), the average of students scientific skill values 3.53 (good), The result of T-test shows sig = 0.001 = 0.1%< 5% and The average of students conservation values 89.43 in very good category.

Abstract

Abstrak ___________________________________________________________________ Buku panduan asesmen otentik yang disusun oleh Direktorat Pembinaan SMA (2013) menunjukkan ‘kurang tepat’ untuk digunakan oleh guru biologi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan buku panduan asesmen otentikbagi guru biologi SMA/MA dan mendeskripsikan validitas, kelayakanisi, keterbacaan dan implementasi buku tersebut. Penelitian ini adalah Research and Development (R &D). Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di SMA Negeri 1 Pecangaandan SMA Negeri 1 Jepara dengan 5 orang guru biologi yang menerapkan kurikulum 2013 sebagai responden. Buku panduan divalidasi oleh 2 ahli (ahli media danahlimateri). Data diambil menggunakan teknik wawancara dan observasi. Data dianalisis menggunakan analisis deskriptif kuantitatif dan kualitatif. Buku panduan yang disusun oleh Direktorat Pembinaan SMA (2013) disusun untuk guru secara umum dan guru biologi pada kenyataannya mengalami kesulitan dalam menyusun instrument dan rubric untuk pembelajaran biologi dengan tepat. Guru  biologi membutuhkan buku panduan asesmen otentik yang khusus untuk biologi agar  dapat menerapkan asesmen otentik sesuai dengan pembelajaran biologi dan tujuan pendidikan sains. Buku panduan asesmen otentik yang dikembangkan diklasifikasikan ‘sangat valid’, ditinjau dari segi media (95,875%) dan materi (95,31%). Buku panduan tersebut juga diklasifikasikan ‘sangal layak’ ditinjau dari kelayakanisi (95,31%) dantingkat keterbacaannya ‘tinggi’ (79,2%) oleh guru biologi. Keterterapan buku panduan tersebut diklasifikasikan dalam criteria baik. Meskipun demikian, guru biologi belum bias melaksanakan asesmen, utamanya asesmen afektif dan psikomotorik karena berbagai kendala.   Abstract ___________________________________________________________________ The authentic assessment guidebook  compiled by Direktorat Pembinaan SMA showed ‘less appropriate’. This study  was aimed  at   developing an authentic assessment guidebook  for senior high school biology teachers and   describing its validity, worthiness, legibility, and implementation.  This study was Research and Development modified from Borg & Gall (2003). This research was conducted at SMA Negeri 1 Pecangaan and SMA Negeri 1 Jepara, with  5  biology teachers that applied the Curriculum of 2013 as respondents. The Guidebook was validated by experts on media and subject matters. Data were collected by interview and observation techniques. Data were analyzed by descriptive analysis of quantitative and qualitative. The guidebook was compiled  for teachers in general and biology teachers in particular who had  difficulty in preparing  instruments and rubrics for biology appropriately. Biology teachers need authentic assessment guidebook  specifically for biology to apply authentic assessment appropriate for biology learning and science education goals. The guidebook was  classified  ‘very valid’ in term of both the media (96,875%) and materials (95,31). The guidebook was also classified ‘very appropriate’ (95,31%) and  high level of legibility  (79,2%) by  biology teachers. Implementation of authentic assessment guidebook  was  under good criteria. However, biology teachers was unable to apply authentic assessment mainly  on affective and psychomotor aspects effectively because of   various constraints. .

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menguji pengaruh pendekatan Problem-based Learning (PBL) dalam pembelajaran terhadap kemampuan analisis siswa SMA 1 Ambarawa. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian Quasi Experimental Design dengan pola Pre and Post-test Design yang diterapkan pada kelas X-7 sebagai  kelompok  kontrol  dan  X-8 sebagai  kelompok  eksperimen,  pada  materi  pencemaran lingkungan.  Teknik Pengambilan sampel  menggunakan  purposive  sampling.  Data  tingkat keterlaksanaan  PBL  diperoleh  melalui  lembar  observasi.  Data  jumlah  solusi  siswa  dikumpulkan dengan  angket  dan  lembar  observasi.  Data  kemampuan  analisis  siswa  dikumpulkan  dengan  tes. Data dianalisis secara kuantitatif. Data dianalisis dengan uji t dan uji regresi linier sederhana. Hasil observasi  menunjukkan  tingkat  keterlaksanaan  PBL  tergolong  tinggi  (81,1%).  Hasil  uji  t menunjukkan perbedaan yang nyata dari kedua kelompok (thitung>ttabel). Uji regresi linier sederhana mengindikasikan bahwa PBL berpengaruh nyata pada kemampuan analisis siswa (nilai sig.<0,05, r kuadrat  0,281).  Simpulan  dari  penelitian  ini  adalah  penerapan  pendekatan  PBL  berpengaruh positif terhadap kemampuan analisis siswa.   This research aimed to determine the effect of the implementation of Problem-based Learning (PBL) approaches of teaching on student’s analysis skills at SMA 1 Ambarawa. This study was a Quasi Experimental Design with Pre and Post-test Design which was applied on X-7 as a control group and  X-8 as a experimental group. The subject studied was Environmental Pollution. Sample was collected with a purposive sampling technique. Data  of  the  implementation  of  PBL  approaches  were  collected  by  observation  sheet.  Questionaire  and observation sheet were used to collect student’s solutions skills. Test was used to collect data of student’s analysis skills scores. Data were analyzed by using quantitative methods. Data were analyzed by t-test and simple linear regression test. The findings showed that level of implementation of PBL approaches were high (81.1%). T-test result showed that there was a significant difference between both groups (tcount>ttable). Simple linear regression test indicated that PBL brought a significant effect on students’s analysis s kills (probability sig.<0.05, r square 0.281). The conclusion of this research was that implementation of PBL approaches had a positive effect on student’s analysis skills

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mendeskripsikan pelaksanaan asesmen yang dilakukan di SMP Negeri 1 Boja, mengidentifikasi hambatan dalam melaksanakan asesmen dan menganalisis hasil belajar siswa. Sumber data penelitian ini tiga guru IPA/Biologi, waka kurikulum dan sepuluh siswa kelas VII & VIII yang dipilih dengan teknik purposive sampling. Data tentang pemahaman asesmen dan penerapannya, kemampuan guru menyusun dan menggunakan instrumen, kesesuaian asesmen, hambatan melaksanakan asesmen, kualitas soal dan ketuntasan hasil belajar diperoleh dengan wawancara, observasi dan dokumentasi; data respon siswa dan peran sekolah terhadap asesmen dengan wawancara. Data dianalisis menggunakan metode kualitatif Miles & Huberman. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan guru telah paham asesmen, menyusun instrumen dan menerapkan tes (pilihan ganda, menjodohkan, uraian), portofolio, dan unjuk kerja, tetapi belum sesuai kurikulum KTSP. Pelaksanaan asesmen terhambat oleh kurangnya waktu, banyak siswa dan tugas administrasi. Kualitas soal UTS dan UKK belum memenuhi syarat. Ketuntasan siswa rata-rata 60%. Respon siswa kurang baik, sistem penilaian guru tidak terbuka. Simpulan pelaksanaan asesmen di SMP Negeri 1 Boja belum memenuhi prinsip-prinsip penilaian, terkendala oleh banyaknya siswa dan kesibukan guru, hasil belajar rendah. This research was to deepen an understanding of biology learning assessment at Sekolah Menengah Negeri 1 Boja, to describe characteristics and problems faced by its biology teachers in the implementation of competency-based assessment and analyze students’ learning achievement. The prime resource persons of this research were three biology teachers, a vice school principal, and ten grade VII & VIII students selected by purposive sampling technique. Data an understating of assessment and its implementation, ability teachers’ in making and using instrument, uniformity of assessment, barriers impending assessment, quality test, and mastery learning outcomes were collected through observation, interview and documentation study; data of student responses and the role of schools in assessment were collected through interview. Data was analyzed by Miles & Huberman’s methode. The findings showed that teachers theoretically understood the nature of better assessment, making instrument, and applying test (multiple choice, matching, and essay), portfolio, and lab-work/demonstration but not yet fully implemented in accordance with the demands of school-based competency curriculum (KTSP). Iimplementation of classroom assessment impeding by time, students size, and load of teachers administration work. The quality UTS and UKK test not yet fully standart. The average of mastery learning result was 60%. Students respons were unfavorable, teachers didn’t transparant. In sum, implementation assessment at SMP Negeri 1 Boja not yet fully assessment principles, constrained students size and teachers’ activity, students’ learning achievement was low.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan antara jurnal belajar dan strategi berpikir metakognitif serta menguji pengaruh penerapan jurnal belajar sebagai strategi berpikir metakognitif pada pembelajaran sistem imunitas terhadap hasil belajar siswa di SMA Negeri 1 Kajen. Desain penelitian menggunakan Quasi Experiment dengan pola Pre-Posttest Design yang diterapkan pada kelas XI IPA 2 sebagai kelompok eksperimen (26) dan kelas XI IPA 3 sebagai kontrol (26). Pengambilan sampel secara convenience sampling. Data tentang skor jurnal belajar diperoleh melalui jurnal belajar. Strategi berpikir metakognitif diukur melalui lembar inventori strategi berpikir metakognitif. Data hasil belajar diperoleh melalui Post-test. Data jurnal belajar dan strategi berpikir metakognitif dianalisis secara kuantitatif melalui uji korelasi. Data hasil belajar dianalisis secara kuantitatif dengan uji t dan uji regresi linier sederhana. Hasil penelitian diperoleh bahwa strategi berpikir metakognitif berkorelasi positif dengan jurnal belajar (93,8% dan sig < 0,05). Hasil uji t-test menunjukkan perbedaan nyata dari kedua kelompok. Hasil penelitian penerapan jurnal belajar sebagai strategi berpikir metakognitif berpengaruh secara signifikan terhadap hasil belajar siswa (nilai sig.<0,05).  Abstract ___________________________________________________________________ This research aimed to know the relation between learning journal and metacognitive thinking strategy and examine the influence of the use of learning journal as a metacognitive thinking strategy, for teaching Human Imunity Systems, on students’ learning achievement at SMA Negeri 1 Kajen. This research design was Quasi Experiment with Pre-Posttest Design. Subject involved in this research were XI IPA 2 class as the experimental (26) and XI IPA 3 as the control (26). Sample was collected by the convenience sampling technique. Score of learning journal was obtained by scoring the journal. Score of metakognitive thinking strtategy was obtained by Inventory Sheet of Metacognitive Thinking Strategy. Data of the learning achievement were obtained by Post-test. Data of learning journal and metacognitive thinking strategy were quantitatively analyzed using correlation test. Data of students’ learning achievement were quantitatively analyzed using t-test and simple linear regression test. Reseach finding indicated that metacognitive thinking strategy was positively correlated with learning journal (93,8% and sig < 0,05). T-test indicated the significant difference between two groups. The use of learning journal as metacognitive thinking strategy brought significant effect on the students’ learning achievement (sig. value <0,05).Keywords: Imunity System of Learning, Learning Journal, and Metacognitive Thinking Strategy

Abstract

Abstract ___________________________________________________________________The purpose of this research was to determine the effect of the remedial teaching using analogy on transport mechanism of cell on learning achievement. This research was a quasi experiment using nonrandomized control group pretest-posttest design. The population (79) was all science students grade XI at SMA N 1 Gubug who had difficulty in Biology. The number of sample was 65 students. Convenience sampling technique was used to select students for experiment and nonexperiment class. The remedial teaching using analogy was indicated with students activity, students opinion and teacher opinion. The students activity was 81,84% and students opinion was 84%. Teacher had a positive opinion about implementation of remedial teaching using analogy in experiment class, so the remedial teaching using analogy was implementable. Learning achievement of experiment class was higher than nonexperiment class. Learning achievement of experiment class was up to Minimum Passing Grade, but nonexperiment class not yet. There were significant differences of lerning achievement (posttest) between experiment and nonexperiment class. The remedial teaching using analogy on transport mechanism of cell was effective for biology teaching.Abstrak ___________________________________________________________________ Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk menguji pengaruh pembelajaran remidial menggunakan analogi pada materi mekanisme transpor sel terhadap hasil belajar. Penelitian ini merupakan quasi experiment, menggunakan rancangan nonrandomized control group pretest-posttest design. Populasi sebanyak 79 siswa dari seluruh siswa kelas XI IPA SMA Negeri 1 Gubug yang mengalami kesulitan belajar dalam mata pelajaran Biologi pada materi mekanisme transpor sel. Besarnya sampel yang digunakan sebanyak 65 siswa. Penentuan kelas eksperimen dan kelas kontrol dipilih dengan teknik convenience sampling. Tingkat keterlaksanaan pembelajaran remidial menggunakan analogi dilihat berdasarkan aktivitas, tanggapan siswa dan tanggapan guru. Rata-rata aktivitas siswa sebesar 81, 48% dan rata-rata tanggapan siswa adalah 84%. Guru juga memberikan taggapan yang positif mengenai pelaksanaan pembelajaran remidial menggunakan analogi, sehingga dapat disimpulkan bahwa pembelajaran remidial menggunakan analogi telah terlaksana dengan baik. Hasil belajar siswa pada kelas eksperimen lebih tinggi dari pada kelas kontrol. Hasil belajar pada kelas eksperimen telah mencapai ketuntasan klasikal, sedangkan pada kelas kontrol belum mencapai ketuntasan klasikal. Hasil ini menunjukkan bahwa ada perbedaan signifikan hasil belajar (rata-rata nilai posttest) antara kelas eksperimen dan kelas kontrol. Simpulan dari penelitian ini adalah pembelajaran remidial menggunakan analogi pada materi mekanisme transpor sel berpengaruh terhadap hasil belajar siswa..
