Abstract

Education on waste management during the Limited face to Face Learning needs to emphasize more to school residents. Schools environments with lots of trees produce a lot of dry leaf organic waste. The solution related to this issue is to eliminate dry leaf organic waste with the least damaging effect on the environment and make it valuable. The innovation that can be offered is dry leaf composting using an M-BIO activator. Partners in this community service are students of SMAN 1 Baregbeg and SMAN 2 Ciamis.  The method used is lectures, discussion, questions &answers, and training in composting practice. Based on the evaluation, 67% of the participants experienced increased knowledge about dry leaf organic waste composting. In addition, regarding the sustainability of independent composting, 83% of the participant were interested. The program opens up insights and changes participants' mindsets towards organic waste. In the future, this program will be school routine programs. Compost produced from students' practical activities during training and counseling can be used as plant fertilizer in school greening areas.

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi rendahnya kemampuan kognitif siswa pada pembelajaran fisika yang disebabkan oleh kegiatan pembelajaran kurang maksimal akibat pandemi covid-19 dan pembelajaran masih secara konvensional dengan metode ceramah. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk menganalisis pengaruh model pembelajaran Visual, Auditori, Kinestetik (VAK) terhadap kemampuan kognitif siswa. Metode penelitian merupakan metode kuantitatif dengan desain penelitian quasi eksperimental dan bentuk desain penelitian nonequivalent control group design. Sampel penelitian berjumlah 72 siswa kelas X MIPA SMA Negeri 3 Tasikmalaya Tahun Ajaran 2021/2022 yang terdiri dari 36 siswa kelas X MIPA 1 dan X MIPA 6 sebagai kelas eksperimen dan 36 siswa kelas X MIPA 4 dan X MIPA 7 sebagai sebagai kelas kontrol. Instrumen penelitian yang digunakan adalah tes pilihan ganda ranah kognitif C1-C4. Uji coba instrumen yang digunakan adalah uji validitas dan reliabilitas, sedangkan analisis data menggunakan uji normalitas, uji homogenitas dan uji t dengan menggunakan rumus independen sample t-test. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa hasil perhitungan uji t pada taraf signifikansi 1%, diperoleh nilai 16thitung≥ttabel">   16(4,895 ≥2,385)"> , maka 16H0">  ditolak. Ini berarti bahwa Model Pembelajaran VAK berpengaruh secara signifikan terhadap kemampuan kognitif siswa kelas X MIPA SMA Negeri 3 Tasikmalaya. Nilai n-gain siswa kelas eksperimen 0,65 lebih besar dari nilai siswa kelas kontrol dalam katagori sedang. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian bahwa model VAK mampu meningkatkan kemampuan kognitif siswa. This research is motivated by the low cognitive ability of students in physics learning caused by learning activities that are less than optimal due to the Covid-19 pandemic, and learning is still conventional with lecture methods. This study aims to determine the influence of Visual, Auditory, and Kinesthetic (VAK) learning models on students' cognitive abilities. The research method is quantitative with a quasi-experimental research design and a form of research design nonequivalent control group design. The research sample comprised 72 students of class X OF MIPA SMA Negeri 3 Tasikmalaya For the 2021/2022 School Year consisting of 36 students of class X MIPA 1 and X MIPA 6 as experimental classes and 36 students of class X MIPA 4 and X MIPA 7 as control classes. The research instrument used is the C1-C4 cognitive realm multiple-choice test. The instrument trial is a validity and reliability test, while data analysis uses normality tests, homogeneity tests, and t-tests using independent sample t-test formulas. The results of the study showed that the results of the calculation of the t-test at the level of significance of 1%, obtained a value, then rejected. This means that the VAK Learning Model significantly affects the cognitive abilities of students of class X of MIPA SMA Negeri 3 Tasikmalaya. The experimental class student's n-gain score of 0.65 is greater than that of the control class student in the medium category. Based on the study's results, the VAK model can improve students' cognitive abilities.

Abstract

Dampak adanya pandemi COVID-19 masih dirasakan oleh kelas masyarakat tertentu walau pemerintah telah menyatakan Pandemi telah berakhir. Hal ini juga dialami oleh mayoritas warga Kampung Cibangun Kaler, Kelurahan Ciherang, Kecamatan Cibeureum, Kota Tasikmalaya. Mayoritas pemuda menganggur karena dirumahkan di masa Covid-19 dan kurang mampu berkreasi serta berinovasi dalam aktivitas yang mampu memberikan nilai ekonomis bagi masyarakat. Hal ini berdampak pada ketahanan pangan masyarakat. Hasil observasi menunjukkan bahwa di kampung sasaran tersebut terdapat empang/kolam ikan dalam skala mikro dan rumah tangga. Berdasarkan keadaan tersebut tim pengabdian melaksanakan Pengabdian Masyarakat yang bertujuan untuk melatih membudidayakan Ikan air tawar menggunakan M-Bio. Sasaran Pengabdian Masyarakat adalah perwakilan pemuda yang berlokasi di Kampung Cibangun Kaler, Kelurahan Ciherang, Kecamatan Cibeureum, Kota Tasikmalaya yang tergabung dalam kelompok remaja masjid, karang taruna, serta warga yang memiliki kolam. Kegiatan Pengabdian Masyarakat dilakukan pada bulan Agustus sampai dengan Desember 2022. Pengabdian Masyarakat ini dilakukan dengan metode Penyuluhan dan Pelatihan Langsung meliputi tahapan Penyampaian Materi, Praktek, serta Pemantauan. Hasil monitoring dan evaluasi menunjukkan mitra telah memiliki pemahaman yang cukup terhadap penggunaan M-Bio sebagai booster dalam pakan ikan. Peserta juga telah mampu mempraktikkan budi daya ikan dengan M-Bio. Kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat untuk ketahanan pangan dengan memanfaatkan M-Bio untuk pakan ikan telah dilaksanakan dengan baik dan lancar sesuai indikator keberhasilan. Pelaksanaan kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat terkait budi daya ikan air tawar dengan M-Bio diharapkan menjadi pemicu untuk memulai dan mengelola usaha ikan air tawar secara mandiri dengan hasil yang lebih baik.The impact of the COVID-19 pandemic is still being felt by certain classes of people even though the government has declared the pandemic has ended. Most residents of Kampung Cibangun Kaler, Ciherang Village, Cibeureum District, and Tasikmalaya City also experience this. Most young people are unemployed because they are at home during the Covid-19 period and are less able to be creative and innovate in activities that can provide economic value to society. This has an impact on community food security. The observations showed that there were ponds/fish ponds on the micro and household scale in the target villages. Based on these conditions, the community service team conducted Community Service, which aimed to train freshwater fish cultivation using M-Bio. The Community Service targets youth representatives in Cibangun Kaler Village, Ciherang Village, Cibeureum District, Tasikmalaya City, who are members of a youth group for mosques, youth organizations, and residents who own fish ponds. Community Service Activities will be carried out from August to December 2022. Community Service is carried out using the Direct Counseling and Training method includes the stages of Material Submission, Practice, and Monitoring. Monitoring and evaluation results show partners have a sufficient understanding of using M-Bio as a booster in fish feed. Participants have also been able to practice fish farming with M-Bio. Community service activities for food security by utilizing M-Bio for fish feed have been carried out properly and smoothly according to indicators. Implementing community service activities related to freshwater fish farming with M-Bio is expected to be a trigger to start and manage freshwater fish businesses independently with better results.

Abstract

In the introductory physics course, conducting experiments and learning topics that seem abstract using a PhET virtual laboratory is necessary. With several previous research results showing that PhET has benefits in learning activities, this study aims to find out Physics Education students related to the usefulness of the PhET virtual laboratory in the introductory alpha decay Nuclear physics course. This research is a quantitative descriptive technique with the research variable of the Colorado PhET virtual laboratory in the Introduction to Nuclear Physics course on alpha decay material. The data collection technique is through a questionnaire method using a Likert scale of five answer choices marked by giving a negative to positive score. The population of the survey is all students of physical education, which is 79 people. However, only 71 people filled out the questionnaire. Characteristics of students who are 21 years old on average with computer/laptop skills on average 81%, interest in introductory physics courses as much as 77%, interest in practicum as much as 86%, and interest in learning topics as much as 61% it can be said that the laboratory virtual PhET is helpful in the learning process of the introductory alpha decay Nuclear physics course with a proportion of 86% of PhET virtual laboratories can help the learning process, 81% of PhET virtual laboratories are the preferred learning method, 80% of PhET virtual laboratories are engaging learning, 81% virtual laboratories PhET can be done independently, and 79.99% use of the virtual laboratory application is easy to use.

Abstract

Kegiatan pertanian atau budidaya tanaman di Desa Pawindan masih bergantung pada penggunaan pupuk dan pestisida kimia. Solusi untuk mengatasi permasalahan tersebut dengan memanfaatkan Biosaka. Biosaka merupakan campuran yang berasal dari larutan tumbuhan atau rerumputan yang mampu melindungi tanaman dari serangan hama dan penyakit serta dapat mengurangi penggunaan pupuk hingga sekitar 50-90 persen. Kegiatan pengabdian ini bertujuan untuk memberikan edukasi dan pelatihan dalam pembuatan Biosaka sebagai alternatif pengganti pupuk dan pestisida kimia. Pelatihan dilakukan terhadap Kelompok Wanita Tani (KWT) Dahlia dan Bina Keluarga Remaja (BKR) Al Marzuq Desa Pawindan Kecamatan Ciamis. Waktu pelaksanaan kegiatan yakni Kamis, 13 Juli 2023 dengan peserta pelatihan sebanyak 17 orang. Pelaksanaan pelatihan menggunakan metode penyuluhan pelatihan, diskusi, dan praktik pembuatan Biosaka. Evaluasi kegiatan dilakukan dengan membagikan angket kepuasan kepada peserta. Angket terdiri dari dua bagian, yaitu persepsi peserta terhadap tim pengabdian dan persepsi peserta terhadap pembuatan Biosaka.  Berdasarkan hasil evaluasi, masyarakat memberikan respons yang sangat positif terhadap kegiatan yang telah dilaksanakan dan menilai kegiatan ini sangat bermanfaat. Kegiatan ini sesuai dengan kebutuhan masyarakat serta merupakan kegiatan yang belum pernah dilakukan sebelumnya. Selain itu, kegiatan ini juga dapat meningkatkan pengetahuan dan keterampilan masyarakat dalam membuat Biosaka Agricultural activities or plant cultivation in Pawindan Village still depend on chemical fertilizers and pesticides. The solution to overcome this problem is by utilizing Biosaka. Biosaka is a mixture derived from a solution of plants or grass, which can protect plants from pest and disease attacks and reduce fertilizer use by around 50-90 percent. This service activity aims to provide education and training in making Biosaka an alternative to chemical fertilizers and pesticides. The training was conducted for the Dahlia Women's Farming Group and Al Marzuq Youth Family Development in Pawindan Village, Ciamis District. The time for the activity is Thursday, July 13, 2023, with 17 training participants. The training was carried out using training counseling methods, discussions, and the practice of making Biosaka. Evaluation of activities is carried out by distributing satisfaction questionnaires to participants. The questionnaire consists of two parts, namely, participants' perceptions of the service team and participants' perceptions of making Biosaka. Based on the evaluation results, the community gave a very positive response to the activities that had been carried out and considered these activities to be very useful. This activity is following community needs and is an activity that has never been carried out before. Apart from that, this activity can also increase people's knowledge and skills in making Biosaka.
