Abstract

This research was conducted to see the effect of communication through Whatsapp groups to improve employee’s performance at PT. Smartphone Lenovo Medan. The approach applied in quantitative descriptive research. The sampling technique used is total sampling with a sample of 49 people. The research carried out shows that communication that occurs in the form of messages or information sent can arrive quickly without having to convey it to several people, but by notifying it in the company's whatsapp group all employees can read and find out the information provided so that they quickly get good results within the company. The existing performance of employees at PT. The Lenovo Medan smartphone is getting better because it is more helpful by using the whatsapp group. There is the influence of communication through the whatsapp group to improve the performance of employees at PT. The Lenovo Medan smartphone is 0.627, which means that the relationship is quite significant with the WhatsApp application because its use is very helpful in the process of delivering messages between employees, especially employees who have groups in it, making it easier to deliver messages.

Abstract

This study aims at determining the role of intercultural communication carried out by the congregation of the GMII Syalom Church Medan having different cultural backgrounds and finding out the supporting and inhibiting factors in conducting intercultural communication carried out by the congregation of GMII Syalom Medan Church. Research method used is a qualitative descriptive approach with data collection techniques through interviews, document studies, observations and literature. The design of this research is expected to provide abstract and general answers to questions arising in a basic research. Research f of this indings show that (1) The patterns of intercultural communication carried out by the congregations of the Church of GMII Syalom Medan with different cultural backgrounds are in the form of symbolic intercultural communication patterns and direct intercultural communication patterns (2) Supporting factors contained in this intercultural communication process are the ability to communicate, attitudes to accept each other differences, friendly attitude and courtesy, the ability to adapt, a sense of family in the congregation, interest when communicating, and understanding of the Word of God. Whereas the inhibiting factors of intercultural communication are individual character, perception of communication actors, influence of other cultures, and language differences.

Abstract

Penelitian ini berjudul “Pengaruh Intensitas Penggunaan Smartphone Terhadap Tingkat Keintiman Komunikasi Interpersonal” yang bertujuan untuk menganalisis pengaruh komunikasi melalui blackberry messenger untuk meningkatkan keintiman komunikasi interpersonal. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode korelasional, yaitu metode yang bertujuan meneliti sejauh mana variasi pada suatu faktor berkaitan dengan faktor lain. Penarikan sampel dalam penelitian ini menggunakan teknik Total Sampling, dimana teknik pengambilan sampel adalah mengambil seluruh anggota populasi sebagai responden atau sampel. Hasil keseluruhan penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa terdapat pengaruh intensitas penggunaan smartphone terhadap tingkat keintiman komunikasi interpersonal . Pengaruh tersebut merupakan hubungan yang cukup berarti. Hasil ini diperoleh dengan menggunakan uji hipotesis yang dilambangkan dengan rs. Diperoleh hasilnya = 0,627, dan berdasarkan skala Guillford berada pada skala yang menunjukkan hubungan yang cukup berarti.
