Abstract

The aim of this research is to know the peasants’ perception factors to UPJA, to analyze the peasants’ perception to UPJA, to analyze the correlation between the peasants’ perception maker with the peasants’ perception to UPJA, and to analyze the difference of the peasants’ perception to UPJA based on the farmers area and peasants’ position in the peasants’ group. The basic method used in this research was descriptive quantitative with survey technique. The location of the research was determined by the purposive that was in Tawangsari District Sukoharjo Regency, by taking 2 peasants’ group that was Ngudi Rejeki in Dalangan and Ngudi Makmur in Majasto Village. The sample was determined by multistage cluster random sampling technique, as many as 60 farmer’s respondents. The data analysis used was rank spearman  and  U  Mann-Whitney.  The  result  of  this  research  indicate  that  the perception form factor was the age of the farmers in the medium category, formal education in the high category, non-formal education in the low category, experience in the medium category, income in the very high category, wide land in the very broad categories and the economic environment in the medium category. The Peasants’ Perception to UPJA that was 61.67% farmer’s respondents had the good perception to UPJA.  There  was  a  significant  relation  between  non-formal  education  and  the economic environment with peasants’ perception to UPJA at 99% level of confidence, at 90% level there was a significant relation between the experience, income and land area with the peasants’ perception to UPJA, while the age and formal education there was no significant correlation with the farmers perception to UPJA. There was a significant difference perception to UPJA based on peasants’ area and peasants’ position in peasants’ group.

Abstract

Communication behavior shows the initiative of individuals or communities in adopting related innovations in seeking or disseminating information.This study aims to analyze: (1) attitudes, (2) subjective norms, (3) intentions, (4) communication behavior of farmers regarding the adoption of red chili cultivation in coastal sandy land, (5) the influence of attitudes on intentions, (6) the effect of subjective norm on intention, (7) influence of attitude on communication behavior, (8) influence of farmer's subjective norm on communication behavior, (9) influence of intention on communication behavior, (10) influence of attitude on communication behavior through intention, (11) influence of norm farmer's subjective perception of communication behavior through farmer's intention to adopt red chili in coastal sandy land. The basic research method is quantitative with survey techniques. The research locations were deliberately determined to include: Bugel Village, Pleret Village and Garongan Village, Panjatan District. Sampling using proportional random sampling technique consisted of 100 farmer respondents. Data analysis used path test (path analysis) with SPSS Statistics 22.0 program. The results showed that: (1) attitudes were included in the confident category, (2) subjective norms were included in the caring category, (3) intentions had a high category regarding communication behavior (4) communication behavior had a low category, (5) attitudes had no effect on communication behavior. intention, (6) farmer's subjective norm has no effect on intention, (7) farmer's attitude has no effect on communication behavior, (8) farmer's subjective norm has no effect on communication behavior, (9) farmer's intention has no effect on communication behavior, (10) farmer's attitude has no effect on communication behavior through farmers' intentions, (11) Farmers' subjective norms affect communication behavior through farmers' intentions to adopt red chilies on coastal sandy fields. The suggestion proposed is that there is a need to increase the intensity of gathering in farmer group activities and frequent discussion forums among red chili farmers in coastal sandy areas.

Abstract

Information has a very important role in our efforts to reach goals. It serves to reduce uncertainty, particularly as input to solve problems, make decisions plan and improve knowledge. The objectives of this study were to identify the peasants’ need for informations. The reach used a qualitative approach with a constructivism paradigm. It was found in the research site that to maintain all of the jobs they were serious engaged in, information had become an important factor. They need for informations was inseparable from the problems they experience in both farming and non-farming activities. They need not only farming hut also non-farming informations. The information need of among the peasants were different depending on, the type of peasant. The information need of the peasant that take height risk different from the peasant that take low risk.

Abstract

Increasing agriculture product by farmers have not been followed yet by increasing farmers income and welfare significantly.Institutional building become important thing for agricultural development that the most actors are small farmer and peasant. The institutions are farmer economic institution and agricultural extension institution. They must can be accessed by farmer to increase their welfare. Therefore there are needed inceasing acess ofits institutions by farmers.

Abstract

This study aims to assess the factors that influence farmers' interpersonal communication in organic rice cultivation; assess the level of effectiveness of farmer interpersonal communication in organic rice cultivation; and analyze the influence of openness, empathy, attitudes and equality partially and simultaneously on the level of effectiveness of interpersonal communication of farmers in organic rice cultivation. The research location in Gentungan village, Mojogedang Subdistrict, Karanganyar Regency, with the consideration that Mojogedang Subdistrict has the highest organic rice production in Karanganyar Regency and Gentungan Village is the only village that has an organic rice certificate. This research was conducted using quantitative deskriptive method with census technique for all organic rice farmers who were certified with a total of 45 people. The data analysis used in this study is multiple linear regression. The results of the study indicate that; openness is included in the category of being quite open, empathy is included in the medium category, attitudes are included in the good category, and equality in the medium category; the level of effectiveness of interpersonal communication of farmers in organic rice cultivation is included in the high category; factors that influence interpersonal communication (openness, empathy, attitude and equality) simultaneously have a significant effect on the level of effectiveness of interpersonal communication while partially openness (X1), attitude (X3) and equality (X4) significantly influence the level of effectiveness interpersonal communication while empathy (X2) does not significantly influence the 95% confidence level.

Abstract

To previous research entitling "Penataan Kelembagan Penyuluhan Pertanian Dalam Rangka Revitalisasi Penyuluhan Pertanian di Kabupaten Sragen " the aimed of rhis research circumstansial congeniality about settlement of extension institute in Sragen Regency. The research result showed in the effort revitality extension agriculture in Sragen Regency have formed the "house self' to field extension workers namely with "Badan Pelaksana Penyuluhan (BAPELUH)." In other side, so far perception of field extension workers and farmer toward effort revitality institute is positif. According to them, with the existance of this program, field extension workers more paid attention. Though some among farmer don't know the name of extension revitality instirute but farmer assess the condition of farmers extension workers in now more motivated, active and proactive and progressively entangle the farmer partisipatively in decision making.

Abstract

This study aimed to identify internal and external factors and determine alternative strategies for improvement of communities’ adoption toga at crowded occupancy in Solo. Basic method of the research was descriptive qualitative. The technique of determining informants with the purposive sampling. The data was obtained through observation, deep interview, FGS, and document study. The research location was purposely determined by referring to active participation from communities in supporting the greening program in Solo, namely Serengan Urban Village. This urban village is quite active in supporting the greening program in Solo. The result showed that there were six strength and nine weaknesses as internal factors, seven opportunities and six threats as external factors. The result of IFE table showed that value of 3.058 meant strong and value in EFE of 2.915 meant medium. Based on the analysis of those two matrixes, it was found that the matrix result of IE was in category four, growing and building, so that in SWOT matrix, the researcher offered five strategies for improvement of urban farming TOGA adoption; (1) Improving experience and knowledge from communities to conduct urban farming TOGA, both in the cultivation and the utilization, 2) Improving communities’ awareness about the potential and opportunities of urban farming TOGA, 3) Improving communities’ ability to conduct the TOGA maintenance through assistance, 4) Improving communities’ knowledge and modal by building cooperation with other parties, 5) Encouraging farmers to build cooperation with government and other institutions for increasing experience in technology, maintenance, and sale.

Abstract

This research are to analyze the farmers’s attitude to the existence of the STA   Watusambang,   analyze   the   factors   forming   attitudes,   and   analyze   the relationships between the factors forming attitudes and the farmers’s attitude to the existence  of  STA  Watusambang.  The  basic  method  used  in  this  research  was descriptive quantitative with survey technique. The location of the research was determined purposively in Blumbang Village, Tawangmangu Subdistrict, Karanganyar Regency. Sampling method used proportional random sampling, there were 60 carrot farmers chosen from each member farmer groups (4 farmer groups). The attitude- forming  of  carrot  farmers  in  this  research  is  age,  formal  education,  personal experience, culture, and exposure to the mass media. The relationship of attitude- forming factors with the farmers’s attitude could be known by using Rank Spearman analysis. The result of this research indicate that the attitude of carrot farmers against to  STA  Watusambang  50.0%  as  much  as  the  farmer  respondents  have  a  neutral attitude. The largest percentage age farmer respondents in the age category 37-44 years, formal education and culture in low category, personal experience and influence others who are considered important in the medium category, and exposure to the mass media in the category. Relationship analysis of test results showed there are a very significant relationship (α=0,01) between the influence of others considered important, personal experiences, and culture with an attitude of carrot farmers against STA; There is no significant relationship between age, formal education, and the media with the attitude of carrot farmers against the STA.
