Abstract

This study aims to analyze the quality of the Lasolo River water, compare it with the quality standard for class I PP Number 22 of 2021, and determine the Status of Water Quality using the Pollution Index (IP) method according to the Minister of Environment Decree Number 115 of 2003. Water quality measurements were carried out at 4 points while the parameters measured were pH, TSS, and Fecal Coliform. Based on the data, it was found that the water pH parameter fluctuated between 7.0 to 7.8 obtained at points ST1 to ST4 under normal conditions, which explained that Lasolo River water met the established quality standards. An increase in the TSS parameter is shown at each point with an average of 70-74 mg/L range, which explains that the TSS value exceeds the maximum water quality standard limit of 40 mg/L. In contrast, the Fecal Coliform parameter at each sampling point has a measurement value of 0 MPN/100 mL, which means it is below the standard quality limit of 100 MPN/100 mL. The water quality status of the Lasolo River was determined using the Pollution Index (IP) method and found that all sampling points were in "lightly polluted" conditions with a range of pollution values between 1.0 < Plj ≤ 5.0 according to Ministerial Decree No. LH. 115 of 2003.

Abstract

Peningkatan ilmu pengetahuan bagi masyarakat desa tentu perlu pembinaan dalam mengelola limbah menjadi bahan yang bermanfaat untuk meningkatkan taraf hidup dan pengetahuan masyarakat. Pentingnya dukungan dari semua pihak menjadi kunci kesejahteraan masyarakat desa dalam membagikan ilmu pengetahuan yang bermanfaat. Terkhusus dalam naskah ini, kami menghadirkan cara-cara pembuatan briket berbahan dasar dari limbah padat kopra dan pengujian ilmiahnya bagi masyarakat Desa Mawa, Kecamatan Wawonii Utara, Kabupaten Konawe Kepulauan. Metode yang dilakukan dalam kegiatan kemasyarakatan ini yaitu sosialisasi cara-cara pembuatan briket dari pencampuran sabut dan tempurung kelapa sebagai bahan baku, karbonasi, penghalusan. Kemudian hasil karbonasi dicampurkan dengan tepung tapioka, pencetakan, pengeringan, dan uji coba hasil briket yang dibuat dalam skala laboratorium. Hasil uji laboratorium dari karakteristik fisik menunjukkan nilai kalor briket yang telah dibuat dapat mencapai 5551,90 Kal/g, kadar air 6,06527%, kadar abu 5,1929% dan kadar zat mudah menguap14,7065%. Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa briket yang dihasilkan sangat baik dan sudah memenuhi sesuai dengan Standar Nasional Indonesia (SNI No.01-6235-2000) sehingga produk ini dapat dikomersilkan untuk meningkatkan pendapatan dan pemanfaatan bagi Desa Mawa.

Abstract

This study reports on the utilization of gallons of water used as containers for household-scale water purification filtration devices. The method of making a filtration device is by making a tap hole (outlet) at the bottom of the gallon and then putting in a filter material consisting of gravel, fine sand, charcoal, coarse sand, sponges, and palm fibre. A water filtration system by entering the water in the top hole of the gallon and the filtered water results are located at the bottom of the gallon that has been given a faucet. Based on the results of this study, it is shown that a gallon waste water-based filtration system is effective in the water filtration process at housing X in Kendari City. Test parameters consisting of turbidity, color, total dissolved solids (TDS), acidity (pH), and iron (Fe) content showed that the decrease in content that occurred in each turbidity test was 56.77%, color 33.33%, TDS 33.61%, the pH level increased by 4.21% (7.37 to 7.68) due to the effect of reduced levels of carbon dioxide (CO2) in water from the filtration process and categorized as water that is suitable for health. Fe levels did not change significantly, where there was an increase of 1.2% (25.7 × 10-4 mg.L-1 to 26.0 × 10-4 mg.L-1). The results of this study illustrate that gallons of water waste can be used as a material for making simple filtration equipment for household-scale water filtration processes.
