Abstract

Abstrak: Penerapan Pendekatan Kontekstual dalam Peningkatan Pembelajaran IPA pada Siswa Kelas VI SDN 2 Kalirejo Kecamatan Karanggayam Tahun Ajaran 2014/2015. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah (1) mendeskripsikan langkah-langkah penerapan pendekatan Kontekstual, (2) meningkatkan hasil pembelajaran IPA, (3) mendeskripsikan kendala dan solusi. Penelitian dilaksanakan dalam tiga siklus. Subjek penelitian adalah siswa kelas VI SDN 2 Kalirejo. Hasil dari penelitian ini adalah (1) langkah-langkah pendekatan Kontekstual adalah (a) konstruktivisme, (b) bertanya, (c) menemukan, (d) masyarakat belajar, (e) pemodelan, (f) refleksi, (g) penilaian sebenarnya, (2) penerapan pendekatan Kontekstual dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar IPA terlihat dari ketuntasan belajar siswa pada siklus I 59,10%, siklus II 75%, dan siklus III 86,37% , (3) kendalanya adalah membutuhkan waktu yang lama. Solusinya yaitu peneliti lebih membagi waktu supaya sesuai dengan alokasi waktunya. Simpulan penelitian ini adalah penerapan pendekatan Kontekstual dapat meningkatkan pembelajaran dan hasil belajar IPA pada siswa kelas VI.Kata kunci: pendekatan, Kontekstual, pembelajaran, IPA Abstract: THE APPLICATION OF CONTEXTUAL APPROACH IN IMPROVING NATURAL SCIENCE LEARNING FOR THE SIXTH GRADE STUDENTS OF SDN 2 KALIREJO KARANGGAYAM DISTRICT IN ACADEMIC YEAR 2014/2015. The objectives of this research are: (1) to describe the appropriate steps in the implementation of Contextual Approach (2) to improve natural science learning, and (3) to describe problems and solution. This research is conducted in three cycles. Subjects were sixth grade students of SDN 2 Kalirejo. The results show that: (1) the steps Contextual approach is (a) constructivism, (b) questioning, (c) inquiry, (d) learning community, (e) modeling, (f) reflection, (g) authentic assessment, (2) the application of Contextual Approach can improve natural science learning. It can be seen from mastery learning of students 59.10% in the first cycle, 75% in the second cycle, and 86.37% in the third cycle, and (3) the problems is that it needs too much time. The solution is researchers should divide the time efficiently as the time allocation. The conclusion of this research is the application of Contextual Approach can improve natural science learning  and learning outcomes for the sixth grade students.Keywords: approach, Contextual, learning, natural science

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the metacognitive skills of students with reflective-impulsive cognitive style in solving geometry problems. This type of research uses descriptive qualitative methods. Data collection techniques used instruments in the form of a Metacognitive Awareness Inventory (MAI) questionnaire, a written test in the form of geometry questions in the form of a validated essay and interviews were conducted to obtain in-depth data. Subjects were selected using a purposive sampling technique based on the results of the MAI questionnaire filling test. The results showed that students who have high metacognitive awareness are able to perform the stages of metacognition skills in problem solving and tend to have a reflective-impulsive cognitive style. Students with reflective cognitive style are able to and through all stages of metacognitive skill processes in problem solving from the planning, monitoring and evaluating stages more thoroughly and in detail, requiring a long time to solve problems but the results obtained tend to be true or accurate and can perform and regulate cognitive activities and be aware of the metacognitive activities carried out. Meanwhile, students with an impulsive cognitive style perform the problem-solving stages of the planning, monitoring and evaluating stages, which seem rushed and tend to be less thorough. Students who have an impulsive cognitive style can perform the stages of metacognitive skills in problem solving but have not been able to manage all cognitive activities and are not aware of the metacognitive activities carried out. Abstract

Coal mining activities in Indonesia have a negative impact on the environment. Some vegetations are disturbed even be lost especially in mining with open mine operation. Revegetation is one of activities that can improve the quality of post mining land, which are also included in post mining land reclamation activities. The purpose of this study is to analyze the biodiversity of flora in post-coal mining revegetation area and to compare the condition of vegetation in various revegetation age classes with the condition of vegetation in natural forest. Vegetation data were collected using the plotted line method in natural forest and plot method with the systematic sampling method with random start (revegetation area). The analysis found that overall conditions of revegetation area have more diverse number of species, namely 52 species woody plant species, and 23 herbaceous plant species, compared to the natural forest, which only has 46 woody plant species and 2 herbaceous plant species. Generally, diversity index and species increment in vegetation area at age more than 4 years is higher and approaching the state of natural forest than revegetation area age 0 - 2 years.
