Abstract

Pineapple is one of the easiest commodities found in Pontianak City. Pineapple has a strategic value related to its content, on the other hand, pineapple is a perishable commodity so that regional diversification needs to be done. In order to synergize the government program in order to realize food security and increase regional economic growth, this Community Service (PPM) activity aims to give a touch of Science and Technology (Science), training and community empowerment. All as an effort to increase the added value of pineapple as a local potential by diversifying to produce culinary made from pineapple, namely candied dried and nata de pina. In pineapple processed training, community groups of Parit Tokaya Urban Village as partners can make dried candied and nata de pina and pack it well. The resulting product is attractive and acceptable organoleptically.

Abstract

Kelompok Wanita Tani “Mulya Abadi” merupakan kelompok wanita tani yang baru terbentuk selama kurang lebih 2 bulan di Dusun Karya Mulya. Kelompok ini merupakan binaan dari FORHATI Kubu Raya, sehingga masih sangat kekurangan informasi pengetahuan dan keterampilan dalam bidang pertanian, khususnya dalam membuat ragam olahan komoditas unggulan daerah, diantaranya pisang dan ubi kayu (banana and cassava flour). Selain itu, wawasan dalam bidang manajemen dan kewirausahaan masih kurang sehingga pelaksanaan Program Kemitraan Masyarakat (PKM) menjadi penting dilakukan. Tujuan dari kegiatan Program Kemitraan Masyarakat (PKM) adalah untuk memberdayakan kelompok wanita tani Dusun Karya Mulya sebagai kelompok wanita tani yang baru terbentuk melalui pelatihan pengolahan diversifikasi olahan pisang dan ubi kayu sebagai komoditas lokal menjadi produk olahan yang bergizi dan bernilai jual serta pelatihan membangkitkan semangat berwirausaha dalam mengembangkan produk olahan nantinya. Pada pelatihan Teknologi Tepat Guna (TTG) pengolahan pisang dan ubi kayu, mitra mampu menghasilkan beragam kuliner baru seperti tepung, cupcake, brownies, dan mie yang memiliki nilai ekonomis. Mitra juga mampu mengemas produk yang dihasilkan dengan baik. Selain itu, mitra mampu membuat pembukuan untuk usaha kecil dan mempunyai kemampuan dalam mengembangkan semangat kewirausahaan dan cara menjual dipasaran.

Abstract

Teluk Empening Village, located in Terentang District, Kubu Raya Regency, West Kalimantan Province, is a ginger-producing area. So far, ginger is only sold fresh and there has been no processing effort to extend its shelf life and increase its economic value. Ginger has strategic value because besides being used as a spice in the kitchen, it is also widely used in the health sector. This community partnership program aims to empower community groups in Teluk Empening Village who are classified as economically non-productive but have a strong desire to become entrepreneurs, namely the female farmer group (KWT). This program collaborates with KWT Silva Lestari as a partner, ginger as the main commodity cultivated by KWT is used as a strategic potential in this empowerment program. The methods used in order to achieve goals include: socialization in the form of delivery of information, transfer of knowledge and technology (science and technology) in the form of appropriate technology training (TTG) as a solution to partner problems as well as monitoring and evaluation and assistance regarding the sustainability of training results. Education about the potential of ginger is able to motivate and change the mindset of partners to be more creative in seeing opportunities for diversification of processed ginger. Simple administration and bookkeeping training can increase the knowledge and skills of partners in making simple bookkeeping for small businesses. The touch of science and technology in the form of TTG processing of ginger improves the skills of partners, where partners are able to process ginger into several processed healthy food products that have economic value, namely dry ginger, ginger powder / powder, dried ginger candy, powdered ginger (instant) and ginger syrup. The skills and knowledge obtained are used as partners as capital to start a small business by producing ginger syrup and dried candied ginger.

Abstract

This Community Service Activity (PPM) collaborates with the Family Welfare Empowerment (PKK) of Rasau Jaya II Village as a partner. Partners have not used local food, namely sweet corn and sweet potatoes, into fermented beverage products that can increase immunity during the Covid-19 pandemic. It is necessary to increase the mindset of partners in utilizing local food ingredients as strategic potentials in an effort to increase family immunity, science and technology insights, skills and expertise of partners. The purpose of this PPM activity is to increase the insight, understanding, and awareness of partners regarding preventive efforts during the pandemic by increasing immunity through the consumption of local food. In addition, providing science and technology transfer in the form of appropriate technology (TTG) for processing fermented drinks as an effort to increase the added value of local food ingredients through diversification of their processed products. The implementation method in achieving goals and targets is in the form of socializing information on local potential, science and technology, and preventive efforts during the Covid-19 pandemic, transferring science and technology in the form of TTG training in processing fermented drinks, and conducting monitoring and evaluation. The results of the activity are increased insight and understanding of community groups about local food ingredients as a source of fibre, prebiotics, and probiotics; increasing awareness of community groups regarding preventive efforts during the pandemic by increasing immunity through consumption of local food; increased skills of community groups after simple TTG training in fermented beverage processing, and increasing the added value of local food ingredients through diversification of their processed products into fermented drinks.

Abstract

Pulau Kabung merupakan bagian dari gugusan pulau-pulau kecil Desa Karimunting, Kecamatan Sungai Raya Kepulauan, Kabupaten Bengkayang, Kalimantan Barat. Sebagian besar masyarakat adalah nelayan dan petani. Apabila kondisi cuaca tidak mendukung untuk melaut, masyarakat akan menyuling daun cengkeh menjadi minyak atsiri, dan beberapa masyarakat memanfaatkan lahan yang mereka punya untuk Bertani cabai. Penyulingan minyak cengkeh dan hasil perikanan menghasilkan limbah yang cukup banyak dan belum diolah. Limbah yang menumpuk dan tidak diolah menyebabkan lingkungan yang tidak sehat dan mengganggu pemandangan secara estetika. Kegiatan pengabdian ini adalah untuk memberikan pelatihan cara mengolah limbah padat hasil penyulingan minyak cengkeh menjadi kompos dan mengolah limbah perikanan menjadi pupuk organik cair (POC). Metode yang digunakan yaitu partisipator dan eksperimental. Peserta ikut serta dalam pelatihan pembuatan pupuk organik dengan bahan baku limbah daun hasil penyulingan minyak dan limbah perikanan, dan mereka akan mengaplikasikannya pada tanaman sayuran di ladang mereka misalnya cabai dan bayam. Hasil yang diperoleh yaitu sebanyak 90% peserta belum mengetahui manfaat limbah perikanan sebagai pupuk organik, sedangkan 70% peserta sudah mengetahui bahwa limbah hasil penyulingan minyak cengkeh dapat dijadikan bahan baku pembuatan kompos. Oleh karena itu 90% dari peserta pelatihan sangat tertarik dan antusias untuk mengikuti pelatihan pembuatan kompos dan POC dari limbah hasil penyulingan cengkeh dan limbah perikanan, karena limbah tersebut sangat banyak tersedia di sekitar mereka. Berdasarkan analisis finansial yang dilakukan, pupuk organik yang dibuat sendiri dengan bahan yang tersedia, cukup potensial untuk meningkatkan perekonomian masyarakat Pulau Kabung.
