Abstract

The problem of managing inheritance in West Sumatra, especially in Minangkabau, is getting more and more difficult to resolve through deliberation to reach a consensus. This can be seen from the increasing number of cases of inheritance disputes in court. It cannot be denied that one of the causes is the weakening or decreasing role or involvement of women in the management of inheritance which is traditionally "assigned" to Minangkabau women. The decline in women's participation in the management of inheritance in Minangkabau is inseparable from the lack of knowledge of Minangkabau women in this era of globalization regarding the status of “Minang women”. The era of globalization is said to have had a big influence on the mindset of Minang women on their status and role. Therefore, it is necessary to increase knowledge about the role of Minangkabau women in the management of inheritance so that then it will lead to women who have the capacity to manage these heritage assets. In the end, by strengthening the role of women in the management of inheritance, it can minimize the conflict problems that can occur.

Abstract

The Minangkabau society is famous for the tradisional philosophy of adat basandi sarak, sarak basandi kitabullah (ABS-SBK). Education and religious values have been passed down from one generation to another. However, it is still not going well. It is seen with the many women who are trapped in negative terms. They are very weak people in the economy and religious education. The goal to be achieved in this study in find out the causes of Minangkabau women who are continually involved in the world prostitution. The focus of this research is the woman in the localization of the goddess Aro, West Sumatera. The method used by researchers is qualitative with case studies in the Andam Dewi. The findings suggest that those involved in prostitution were women aged 17-27 years old because of the economic factors and religious knowledge are very weak. Other findings also show the weak role of Mamak in Minangkabau in monitoring its ministry.

Abstract

The hijrah youth community is a youth organization that has the aim of improving itself in a better direction because the people in that area have behavior that deviates from the values and norms prevailing in society as a result of disturbed community life. Based on this background, the community collaborates with the youth alumni of the Az Zahra Mosque to form a community called the Hijrah youth community which is closely related to religious values whose purpose is to instill religious values in the community while business is to improve the economy of the community. The theory used in this study is the theory of social control according to Hirschi Travis. This research is a qualitative approach with a descriptive type. The results of research on the role of the migrating youth community as social control are: 1) internalization of religious values, namely the transfer of values carried out by the migrating youth community by approaching religious activities, 2) approaching individuals, the approach is carried out by seducing, inviting, being approached, care and pay attention to changes in behavior, 3) holding events as well as introductions, the community also introduces individuals to other individuals through activities, through social media, radio and through international seminars, 4) disseminates values and norms, namely the process of instilling values and norms , the goal is to shape a person's character and 5) carry out positive / beneficial activities, the goal is to prevent deviant behavior for example religious and social activities.

Abstract

This article describes a Microfinance Institution that grows and develops in the community called the Kamila Berkah cooperative which was established in Nagari Ampang Kuranji, Dharmasraya Regency, West Sumatra. This cooperative is fostered by the Sociology study program of STKIP PGRI West Sumatra with the aim of empowering the community, especially women, as an answer to women's difficulties in accessing sources of capital in opening businesses and being economically independent, so that women can get out of poverty and the consequences of poverty. women will accept. The strategies implemented in empowering women through this cooperative are through mentoring activities, thematic discussions, supervision and capacity building of cooperative members.
