Abstract

The strength of international competitiveness encouraged a shipyard to reduce cost of materials and labor. Therefore, a shipyard did a measurement to improve the rationalization toward labor productivity. This study aimed to compare the path model from strategies of labor productivity and competitiveness of medium size shipyard in region of Batam and Java. The normality test of questionnaire data at 200 respondents who are competent in the feld of shipbuilding through the ratio of skewness and kurtosis did not show normal distribution from the data. Test of model feasibility through PLS algorithm and bootstrapping showed moderate criterion and no signifcant diference in the variable path for both regions. The frst latent variable: shipyard competitiveness is infuenced by the strategic policy and labor productivity, while the second latent variable: labor productivity is infuenced by work activity, strategic policy, and corporate culture. Test of model segmentation through FIMIX-PLS showed good criterion and osignifcant diference in the interaction of variable heterogeneity for both regions. The fnal result of shipyards PLS path modeling showed a consistent relationship between strategic policy and labor productivity in order to increase the Indonesian shipyard competitiveness.

Abstract

Sistem ballast pada kapal berguna untuk mengatur posisi kapal baik trim maupun oleng ataupun even keel. Untuk itu ballast ditempatkan didalam ceruk belakang, ceruk depan, tangki-tangki dasar ganda, tangki tegak dan tangki samping. Perencanaan tentang sistem ballast yang baik  harus memperhatikan faktor – faktor seperti beban yang ditanggung pipa dan temperatur kerja pada pipa secara garis besar perancangan sistem pipa ini tidak boleh menghasilkan tegangan yang lebih tinggi dari tegangan pipa yang diizinkan dan bisa diterima oleh jenis material pipa tersebut. Maka dari itu untuk mengurangi suatu tegangan pada pipa dapat digunakan penambahan support yang nantinya akan didesain menggunakan software CAESAR II dengan variasi pembebanan sustain load dan operation load

Abstract

PT.Safinah Blasting merupakan salah satu perusahaan yang bergerak di bidang jasa pekerjaan sandblasting yang terletak di Daerah Tanjung Perak Surabaya. Sandblasting adalah suatu proses pembersihan permukaan dengan cara menembakan partikel ( pasir ) ke suatu permukaan material sehingga menimbulkan gesekan atau tumbukan. Permukaan material yang telah mengalami gesekan akan menjadi bersih dan kasar. Permukaan yang kasar ini membuat cat dapat melekat dengan kuat. Adapun untuk jenis abrasive yang digunakan adalah abrasive steel grit, steel grit dipilih karena tingkat debu yang rendah dan bisa digunakan lebih dari satu pemakaian. Dalam proses perancangan ulang alat bantu pengisian pasir abrasive steel grit yang dilakukan yaitu dengan pengambilan data sekunder dan data primer yang nantinya akan digunakan untuk merancang ulang alat bantu pada proses pengisian pasir abrasive steel grit guna meminimalkan waktu pengisian. Pada penelitian ini dengan adanya perancangan ulang pada proses pengisian pasir abrasive steel grit pada kegiatan sandblasting waktu yang didapatkan lebih cepat dibandingkan dengan cara manual. Untuk pengisian pasir minimum seberat 286 kg dengan adanya perancangan ulang alat bantu membutuhkan waktu 7.6 menit, sedangkan untuk pengisian pasir maksimum seberat 1126 kg dengan adanya perancangan ulang  alat bantu membutuhkan waktu 19.8 menit.

Abstract

Bentuk  foil menghasilkan gaya angkat (lift force) ketika foil dilewati oleh aliran fluida  karena adanya pengaruh interaksi antara aliran fluida dengan permukaan foil yang mengakibatkan tekanan permukaan atas lebih kecil dari permukaan bawah. Bagaimana mengaplikasikan teori foil pada hydroplane kapal selam sebagai  system penyelaman, dengan membalik foil maka lift force tersebut menjadi gaya ke bawah, dengan demikian memungkinkan kapal selam dapat menyelam, melayang dan bermanouver di bawah air, seperti halnya gerak pesawat terbang yang terbang dan melayang dengan menggunakan sayap. Dilakukan penelitian dan pengamatan terhadap kemampuan penyelaman (diving plan) dari foil NACA seri 2412 pada model kapal selam, dengan mencari nilai Cl (coefisien lift) di Laboratorium, serta mendesain bentuk badan kapal selam dan analisa gaya-gaya yang bekerja pada model kapal selam, jumlah gaya-gaya yang bekerja keatas lebih rendah dari gaya-gaya ke bawah maka kapal selam mampu menyelam. Penerapan Hydroplane sebagai diving plane dapat diterapkan, kemampuan penyelaman dipengaruhi oleh sudut flip  Hydroplane dan kecepatan model, semakin besar kecepatan dan sudut flip maka semakin besar kedalaman penyelaman yang dapat dilakukan.

Abstract

The Wind tunnel investigation of a slender body catamaran was conducted in order to determine its resistance characteristics, namely the effect of pressure and flow velocity changes for varied hull separation. The catamaran was tested in a wind tunnel belongs to Department of Mechanical Engineering, ITS, with hull separations of  S/L = 0.2 to 0.4 and variation in Reynolds numbers up to 4.46 x 105. Pressure around the hull was measured using pressure tappings and the flow velocity behind the hull was also measured using a Pitôt-static tube. The experimental study shows that the pressure coefficient decreases when the hull separation declines and conversely, the flow velocity increases. The tests demonstrated a viscous interaction between the hulls, and form factors for the monohull and catamaran are derived. The demihull exhibited a form factor (1+k) of 1.265 and in the catamaran mode, the measured form factor (1+βk) was between 1.416 and 1.403. The results are in agreement with other published data.

Abstract

Construction of a hull generally requires several plates and profile material. Early indications for shipbuilding indicate that in manner, the linear function approach for installed material was 75% to 90%, and waste material was 10% to 25%. This study is conducting an assessment of the area of installed material and waste material on small vessels made of aluminum with variations in ship length and the method of approach trend lines both linear and nonlinear. Secondary data retrieval in the form of an aluminum cutting plan for plate material and profile from the AutoCAD application, which is then reprocessed through the FastCAM application to obtain results in the form of identification of installed material and waste material area. Based on variations in ship length and material area results, a scatter plot process was carried out through the Excel application to obtain results in the form of trend line functions with an R-squared determination coefficient of more than 0.9 and the results of the calculation of the intersection between the function of installed material and waste material, and the waste material function with the x-axis uses the balance method. The final result showed that the linear function gives an indication of the effectiveness of the material located in the range of 6 to 23 meters in length of the boat and polynomial function of order 2 in the range of 6 to 18 meters in length, while the waste material area in the two functions maximum 22%.

Abstract

In the industrialized world, low-carbon steel was often used as a construction material. One of the problems obtained in the low carbon steel welding process was its nature  susceptible to shakes.  The minimize the formation of residual voltage in the connection area (Heat Affected Zone) can be done by the Post Weld Heat Treatment (PWHT) process The purpose of this study was to find out the effect caused by variations in heat treatment on heating steel ASTM A36 (Holding Time) to penetrant tests and determine the suitable temperature given to ASTM A36 steel after the welding process. The PWHT process was carried out with several variations of Holding Time, namely 1 hour, 2 hours, and 3 hours at 400 °C.  Based on penetrant testing showed that the best value in Holding Time was 3 hours with no appearance of porosity defects

Abstract

This study aims to develop lake tourism by prioritizing of strenghts, weaknesses, opportunities and threats in the development of lake tourism located in Hendrosari Village, Gresik Regency. Which aims to optimize the potential that potential that exits in the lake to be used as a plate to find income because the tourism object is quite promising and the village community to developp and utilize these resources is very high. lake tour. In carrying out this development, the author will use several methods that will be used to determine the feasibility of developing lake tourism in hendrosari village, including the SWOT analysis method (Strenghts, Weaknesses, Opportunities and Threats).

Kapal katamaran memiliki dua lambung (U dan V) atau badan kapal yang di hubungkan oleh geladak atau briging platform,Dalam  melakukan pengelasan pada bottom profile pada kapal Oceana Catamaran ada beberapa cara yang bisa di lakukan dengan cara Asimetris dan cara Simetris, Sebelum waktu pross produksi dilakukan dibutuhkan data primer dan sekunder, Dari data yang di dapatkan nantinya akan dilakukan  tahapan Fabrikasi dan sub Assembly dengan menghitung deviasi waktu selama pekerjaan peletakan Bottom Profile, Pekerjaan Asimetris (spiral) merupakan pekerjaan yang dilakukan dengan mengikuti bagian lambung kapal, Sedangkan untuk pekerjaan tahapan Simetris dengan Frame Spacing, pada proses diatas didapatkan waktu yang lebih banyak untuk pekerjaan dengan cara Asimetris yang di lakukan mulai dari Ap hingga Fp untuk pekerjaan secara Simetris mulai dari Ap hingga pararel middle body Sehingga di dapatkan waktu pekerjaan lebih sedikit karena pengurangan jumlah block.

Abstract

Development of Technology Parameter Towards Shipbuilding Productivity Predictor Using Cubic Spline Approach. Ability of production processes associated with state-of-the-art technology, which allows the shipbuilding, is customized with modern equipment. It will give impact to level of productivity and competitiveness. This study proposes a nonparametric regression cubic spline approach with 1 knot, 2 knots, and 3 knots. The application programs Tibco Spotfire S+ showed that a cubic spline with 2 knots (4.25 and 4.50) gave the best result with the value of GCV = 56.21556, and R2 = 94.03%.Estimation result of cubic spline with 2 knots for the PT. Batamec shipyard = 35.61 MH/CGT, PT. Dok & Perkapalan Surabaya = 27.49 MH/CGT, PT. Karimun Sembawang Shipyard = 27.49 MH/CGT, and PT. PAL Indonesia = 19.89 MH/CGT.
