Abstract

This study aims to determine how the experience of parents in caring for mentally disabled children. This research method uses a qualitative descriptive phenomenological approach. The results of the study obtained six themes, namely (1). The response of parents when their child is said to be RM, (2). RM child's birth weight, (3). RM's parenting pattern, (4). Parents' efforts to train RM's children's independence, (5). The form of family support for RM children, and (6). Efforts to increase the knowledge and motivation of parents about RM child care. In conclusion, the support given by parents is in the form of positive things in the form of love, respect, and attention. Sources of information and motivation for parents are obtained from the internet/google/social media; information and inspiration are also obtained from therapists and friends or parents who also have children with mental retardation. Abstract

This study aims to determine the comparison of the effectiveness of playing plasticine with finger painting on the fine motor development of pre-school children at PAUD Dharma Wanita Persatuan Bengkulu City. This type of research is a quantitative research with a Quasi Experimental design. The results showed that before the intervention, there were 8 (53.3%) children whose fine motor development was included suspect in the finger painting group, and 7 (46.7%) children were in the suspect category in the plasticine playing group. After being given the intervention by playing plasticine, there were 10 people (66.6%) whose fine motor development was normal, while the respondents after being given intervention by playing finger painting were 14 children (93.3%) whose fine motor development was normal. The results of the Wilcoxon test showed that the p-value of the two groups was 0.043 for the plasticine group and 0.007 for the finger painting group, which means that there was a difference in the average score for the fine motor category before and after the intervention was given to the two groups. Based on the results of the Mann-Whitney test, the p value = 0.073. In conclusion, the two interventions were statistically effective in increasing the average score of the fine motor ability category of preschool children and there was no significant difference in the effectiveness of the two intervention groups in increasing the average score of the fine motor ability category of preschool children in PAUD Dharma Wanita Persatuan Bengkulu City. Abstract

This study aims to explore the experience of single parents in caring for children with confirmed COVID-19. This research design is qualitative research with a phenomenological approach. The results of this study obtained six themes, namely the signs of COVID-19 symptoms that occur in children, namely children have fever, cough, runny nose, and loss of appetite, the transmission of covid-19 occurs due to lack of implementing health protocols and traveling to crowded places, when knowing their child confirmed that covid-19 single parents experience feelings of anxiety, panic and worry, single parents, get support from family, the surrounding environment and work friends. In conclusion, in caring for their children, single parents prepare children's needs such as medicines, vitamins, healthy food, and a comfortable play environment. In dividing the time to care for children confirmed positive for COVID-19, on average, mothers ask for leave at home. Keywords: Covid-19, Phenomenology, Caring for Children, Single Parents

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of Diabetes Self Management Education (DSME) on patients' quality of life with type 2 diabetes mellitus by using a pre-experimental design one group pre and post-test with a sample of 15 respondents. The results of the study, most of the respondents, as many as eight people (53.3%) aged 56-70 years, most of them 14 people (93.3%) were women, most of them eight people (53.3%) had junior high school education, most of them were nine people (60.0%) 1-5 years had diabetes, before the DSME the lowest quality of life score was 86. The highest was 99, the average was 90.93, while after DSME, the most inferior quality of life score was 88, and the highest was 105. The average standard is 98.67. The middle grade of life after treatment has increased. The difference in the mean quality of life scores before and after using DSME with p-value = 0.000. In conclusion, there is an effect on the quality of life of type 2 DM patients before and after being given Diabetes Self Management Education (DSME) in the Work Area of ​​the Pasar Ikan Bengkulu Health Center. Abstract

This study aims to optimize the application of five-moment hand hygiene for the Pematang Tiga Health Center staff. This research method uses a quantitative methodology with a quasy experiment, one group pre-test, and a post-test design approach. The results showed that the average score of staff knowledge related to five moments of hand hygiene before the intervention was 67.50, or in the excellent category. The bivariate analysis of the two data using the Paired sample t-test showed a value of p = 0.000 <0.05. In conclusion, there is a difference in the average score of staff knowledge related to five-moment hand hygiene before and after giving the intervention. Keywords: Five Moments of Hygiene, Staff
