Abstract

Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) is a chronic lung disease characterized by limited air flow in the respiratory tract that is not completely reversible and is progressive. Patients with COPD tend to experience inactivity that occurs due to reduced oxygen in the tissues, resulting in decreased fitness in helping to improve fitness given Pursed lips breathing treatment and limb training. This study was to determine the difference between pursed lips breathing with pursed lips breathing and exercise extremity on fitness in patients with COPD. Method is a quantitative research with quasi experimental type using the design of two groups pre-test and post-test, has a sample of 18 respondents divided into 2 groups, the control group (Pursed Lips Breathing) and the intervention group (Pursed Lips Breathing And Extremity Exercise) with purposive sampling technique that is adjusted to the inclusion and exclusion criteria. Analysis of the data obtained using the independent sample t test showed a p-value of 0,000 which means that there are differences in Pursed Lips Breathing with Pursed Lips Breathing and Extremity Exercises Against Fitness in Patients with COPD. With a mean of 17.22 with SD 11.487 and p-value α <(0.002 <0.05) in the control group (Pursed Lips Breathing) and mean 65,000 with SD 11.990 and p-value α <(0,000 <0.05) in the group interventions (Pursed Lips Breathing and limb training). Result showed that the average difference in fitness before and after (Pursed Lips Breathing and Extremity Exercises) was greater than in the control group (Pursed Lips Breathing). Conclusion is the difference between Pursed Lips Breathing and Pursed Lips Breathing and Extremity Exercise Against Fitness in Patients with COPD

Abstract

The problem that often occurs for workers is Carpal tunnel syndrome (CTS). Carpal tunnel syndrome is a disorder of the hand due to compression of the median nerve in the carpal tunnel, either due to adhesions or abnormalities of the small bones of the hand. The median nerve innervates the thumb, index finger, middle finger and part of the ring finger, so that pain and parathesia can be felt in these areas. One way of non-pharmacological therapy that can be used in CTS is through the provision of nerve gliding exercise. Nerve gliding exercise and the administration of ultra sound (US) modality are done with the aim of reducing pressure on the wrist so that pain can be reduced. The results of this service activity stated that as many as 94% of participants as physiotherapists had understood and were able to use nerve gliding exercise and Ultra Sound (US) for pain reduction in CTS cases.

Abstract

Osteoarthritis is a chronic joint disease characterized by abnormalities in the cartilage (cartilage) of the joints and nearby bones. Cartilage is part of the layer that lines the ends of bones, to facilitate movement of the joints. The occurrence of osteoarthritis is influenced by various risk factors such as age (aging process), genetics, obesity, joint injury, anatomical abnormalities, metabolic diseases and joint inflammatory diseases. This activity aims to determine the effect of providing Roll Slide Mobilization and Manual Traction on knee scale intensity in patients with Osteoarthritis. The method used to treat problematic patients is Roll Slide Mobilization and Manual Traction with the number of interventions being 22 samples. The measuring instrument used for evaluation uses the VAS scale. The results of the interventions that have been carried out show that there is an effect of Roll Slide Mobilization and Manual Traction Interventions on the intensity of knee pain in Osteoarthritis patients reaching 91%. Suggestions Researchers suggest that this method can then be applied as a method that can be chosen to overcome knee problems.

Abstract

Technological developments affect a person's life. One of the signs is the level of public health, life expectancy is getting longer, so the number of elderly residents will increase. The growth of the world's population aged over 60 years exceeds 7% of the total population. Indonesia is one of the countries with very rapid growth of the elderly population due to low mortality and birth rates. Problems that often arise in the elderly are fitness problems so that they are disturbed in carrying out daily activities. Interventions that can be given to help overcome the fitness of the elderly are elderly gymnastics. This activity was carried out with the aim of knowing the benefits of exercise in improving the fitness of the elderly. The intervention method used to overcome the fitness of the elderly is to offer elderly arts. The elderly exercise given is very useful to maintain and maintain conditions to stay fit and maintain physiological physical properties such as elasticity, contractility, and endurance. This activity is given to the elderly in Wakarleli Village, Southwest Maluku Regency in 2021. The measuring instrument used to measure the elderly's fitness is using arm curls. Respondents who took part in this activity numbered 11 people with an average age of over 60 years. After doing elderly exercise for 6 (six) times, p is 0.003 smaller than 0.05 (0.003 <0.05), which means that elderly exercise can improve the fitness of the elderly in Wakarleli Village in 2021.

Abstract

Low Back Pain (LBP) does not cause death, but causes individuals to become unproductive so that it will cause an enormous economic burden for individuals, families, communities and the government. Indonesian BPS data explains that people over 15 years of age have health problems. With increasing age, the anatomical structure and function of tissues will decrease, such as muscles, bones and joints, ligaments and other soft tissues. These changes are relevant to a person's decrease in activity. Pain is a major problem in patients with LBP disorders. Physiotherapy measures to overcome these complaints are extracorporeal shock wave therapy and laser. Physiotherapeutic intervention using shock wave therapy and extracorporeal laser methods can be given to LBP myalgia patients through community service activities carried out at Grandmed Lubuk Pakam Hospital. To evaluate the results of the intervention, the measuring tool used is the Verbal Analog Scale (VAS). This activity was attended by 12 respondents who complained of low back pain. Before and after the intervention the value will be measured using the VAS. Based on the results of the last evaluation, it can be seen that the respondents' pain complaints before and after the intervention experienced withdrawal, namely 5.8 (moderate pain) before the intervention and after the intervention the value became 0.8 (mild pain). The results of these actions prove that physiotherapy interventions such as radial shock wave therapy and laser therapy are useful/effective in dealing with complaints of LBP myalgia.

Abstract

Gout arthritis is a disease caused by impaired purine metabolism resulting in excessive uric acid (hyperuricemia). It is said to be hyperuricemia if the uric acid level is more than 6.0 mg/dl in women and 7.0 mg/dl in men, which is measured based on blood serum. To overcome the problem of hyperuricemia, it is necessary to apply a low-purine diet, especially for elderly people with gout arthritis. The goal of a low-purine diet is to prevent monosodium urate crystals from accumulating in the joints. The implementation method used by the PkM team in collaboration with Puskesmas Batang Kuis partners and elderly people with gout arthritis consists of 4 stages. Based on the results of the activities of the 41 community service participants, frequency characteristics were obtained based on the uric acid value of the elderly at the Puskesmas Batang Kuis, namely the majority of gout categories in the elderly, namely the 7.6-9.0 category, as many as 25 people (61%). From the results of the activity it was also found that the number of elderly women with gout arthritis was more (28 people) while there were 13 men. The results of an evaluation of the increase in knowledge of 41 participants showed that the majority of elderly knowledge was categorized as good as many as 27 people (66%) participants with good knowledge. The low knowledge and understanding and awareness of the elderly regarding a low purine diet is the cause of the high number of gout arthritis sufferers. So we need a program that educates and raises public awareness and needs to monitor diet in the elderly.

Abstract

Stroke is a functional disorder of the brain that can occur suddenly or abruptly with focal or global neurological signs that can last 24 hours or more (if no surgery or death occurs) without any signs of non-vascular causes, which include signs of subarachnoid hemorrhage, intracerebral hemorrhage, ischemia or cerebral infarction. This can cause disturbances in vital brain functions such as coordination disorders, balance disorders, posture control disorders, sensation disorders and movement reflex disorders, thereby reducing the ability to carry out daily living activities and balance disorders. The motor relearning program method is a program for retraining specific motor controls by avoiding unnecessary or wrong movements that involve cognitive processes, the application of motor and psychological science, training, understanding of nervous anatomy and physiology and is not based on the theory of normal development (neuro development). The research aims to determine the effect of the motor relearning program on daily living activities and dynamic balance disorders in post-stroke patients. The method used in this research is a quasi experiment with one group pretest and post test design. The research sample consisted of 9 people. The samples will be observed and adjusted to the specified criteria so that they do not cause problems. Each respondent was measured 2 (two) times, namely before and after the intervention. Test the hypothesis using the Wilcoxon test. The research results obtained a value of p = 0.000 (p=<0.05), which means there is a significant influence of the motor relearning program intervention on daily living activities and dynamic balance disorders in post-stroke patients. The results of this research can be concluded that the motorbike relearning program can improve daily living activities and dynamic balance disorders in patients after non-hemorrhagic stroke. It is hoped that the results of this research can contribute to health services for the community in overcoming the problems of daily living activities and dynamic balance disorders in post-stroke patients.
