Abstract

Purpose – This study aimed to identify whether there is an increase in social-emotional and language aspects’ enhancement through the combination of imaginative teaching methods and multimedia learning that the teacher carried out.Design/methods/approach – This is a quantitative study that applies the pre-experimental design method. The model applied through this research was in the form of a pretest-posttest group which was carried out by comparing the emotional abilities of children before and after being given treatment in the form of a combination of imaginative processing methods and multimedia learning. The sampling technique used purposive sampling where the research subjects were in their early childhood, aged 5-6 years.Findings – Imaginative teaching approaches and multimedia-based learning impact the development and improvement of children's socio-emotional and language development. This can be seen from the comparison between the post-test scores that are more significant than the pre-test scores, namely, and the significance value on all dimensions is 0.000 <0.05.Research implications/limitations – In this study, the use of pretest and posttest methods in experimental design helps to clarify differences in the provision of imaginative processing methods and multimedia learning. The obstacles faced by the majority relate to the internet connection in communicating with teachers.Practical implications – The combination of imaginative learning methods and multimedia learning improves language social-emotional aspects effectively. The results of this study contribute to understanding for teachers and school institutions to better utilize information and communication technology in optimizing child development. Abstract

Penguatan merupakan bagian dari teori behavioristik, fungsi penting penguatan agar anak mempertahankan perilakunya. Kualitas dari penguatan tampak pada kesegeraan, kebermaknaan, serta variasi penguat dalam tindakan penguatan. Kualitas penguatan diyakini berdampak kepada kuatnya perilaku individu anak yang memperoleh penguatan dari guru. Penelitian ini bertujuan menemukan kecenderungan pemberian penguatan serta efeknya terhadap kontinuitas perilaku anak. Penelitian ini melibatkan 40 guru di 8 Taman Kanak-Kanak di Kota Malang. Data diperoleh dari teknik dokumentasi dan observasi. Dianalisis melalui pengamatan video dan catatan lapangan dengan indikator yang ditetapkan berdasarkan teori. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa 78% guru dari subjek penelitian memperoleh kategori respon terbaik dari anak-anak dengan persentase 58%. Jadi peneliti menyimpulkan bahwa penguatan positif dengan kesegeraan waktu, kebermaknaan, dan variasi penguat dalam tindakan penguatan sangat efektif dalam memperkuat perilaku anak.

Abstract

Education is a bridge between society's mastery of technology and the demands of life that are increasingly familiar with the technology. Consequently, it is essential to comprehend the readiness of the education sector, particularly the employed learning media. This study investigates the readiness of technology-based learning media in the field of early childhood education for the era of society 5.0. This study is included in systematic literature review which aims to examine articles with similar topics for review and analysis. Document identification is done by reviewing the title, abstract, and keyword of the article. Temporary, the content analysis study examines the forms and methods, components, and the advantages of media consumption. The results of study resulted in two key findings, namely a summary of the characteristics of the types of technology-based learning media that must be owned so that they are relevant to be applied in the era of society 5.0. Types of learning media that have been successfully synthesized include games, digital storytelling, LMS, augmented reality, and interactive multimedia. While the characteristics that learning media must have to be relevant to Society 5.0 include adaptive, innovative, personalized, flexible, and integrated with various innovative devices such as IoT, AI, and big data. Practical recommendations that can be used are efforts to continue upgrading skills, especially those related to technology and prioritizing elements of children's fun, attractiveness, and increasing opportunities for children to interact with technology in learning activities.
