Abstract

Pulau Lemukutan merupakan salah satu daerah penghasil rumput laut di Kabupaten Bengkayang dengan Bingke merupakan panganan khas Pontianak yang bercitarasa tinggi dan telah dibuat dalam olahan dasar yang bervariasi. Cara pembuatannya yang mudah Rumput laut merupakan salah satu komoditas daerah Pulau Lemukutan, Kabupaten Bengkayang. Desa Pulau Lemukutan merupakan salah satu daerah penghasil rumput laut di Kalimantan barat. Rumput laut yang dibudidayakan pada umumnya jenis Euchema cottoni. Tujuan kegiatan ini adalah untuk peningkatan keterampilan dan pengetahuan dalam bidang kewirausahaan dalam pengolahan pangan lokal berbasis rumput laut. Kegiatan PKM ini telah dilaksanakan pada bulan Juni 2021 di Balai Desa Pulau Lemukutan Kalimantan Barat. Mitra PKM ini adalah ibu-ibu yang tergabung dalam anggota PKK (Pemberdayaan Kesejahteraan Keluarga) Desa Pulau Lemukutan, Kalimantan Barat. Permasalahan yang dihadapi ibu-ibu PKK belum pernah mendapatkan pelatihan terkait olahan rumput laut. Oleh karena itu dilakukan kegiatan peningkatan keterampilan berupa pelatihan pengolahan rumput laut. Metode yang dilakukan dalam PKM ini adalah ceramah, praktik, tanya jawab, demontrasi, dan diskusi. Manfaat dari kegiatan PKM ini adalah adanya peningkatan pengetahuan dan kesadaran terkait manfaat rumput laut terhadap kesehatan sebagai asupan gizi yang optimal untuk memperkuat daya imun tubuh, kemudian meningkatnya keterampilan peserta PKM dalam membuat bingke, bakso dan nugget dengan pangan lokal berbasis rumput laut sehingga dapat dijadikan olahan pangan yang berdaya jual tinggi. Kegiatan PKM ini telah meningkatkan pengetahuan, kesadaraan dan keterampilan akan pengolahan pangan bebasis rumput laut.

Abstract

Nepenthes spp. is kind of plant that arranged ecosystem in West Kalimantan, especially in the Sebomban hill area, Sanggau Regency. But, its existence is threatened so that several species are included in the endangered category according to the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species (CITES). The research aims to determine species, community structure, anddistribution patterns of Nepenthes spp. in the area of Sebomban hill, Bonti District, Sanggau Regency. The research method used purposive samplingand systematic sampling with transect. The results showed that there are 3 types of Nepenthes spp. namely N. ampullaria, N. mirabilis and N, gracilis. The density value of Nepenthes spp. ranged from 10 - 45 individual/ ha. The index of importance value of Nepenthes spp. ranged from 42% - 134%, the highest value being Nepenthes ampullaria in location III, while the lowest value was found in location I, namely N. gracilis. All Nepenthes spp. those found at the research location have a pattern of distribution as clustered.

Abstract

Uncaria gambir is a member of Rubiaceae family. Information related to antioxidants and the use of this plant in the food and cosmetic industry has been widely reported. This study aims to determine the physicochemical properties, phytochemical content and antioxidant activity of herbal tea made from gambir claw, which was collected from the Pontianak City area of ​​West Kalimantan. Determination of physicochemical properties is based on measuring the parameters of pH, water content, ash content and organoleptic including taste, odor and color when dissolved in water. Phytochemical screening was carried out using specific reagents to determine the presence of flavonoid compounds, tannins, alkaloids and saponins. Antioxidant activity was determined using the free radical scavenging method 2,2-diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl (DPPH). From the results of the measurement of the physical and chemical properties of gambir claw herbal tea, the pH, ash content, moisture content and powder conditions met the requirements of SNI No 3836 of 2013, phytochemical screening showed positive results for flavonoid and tannin compounds, and antioxidant activity was obtained at 88,398 ppm, classified as a strong antioxidant.

Abstract

Tengkuyung (Cerithidea obtuse) is one of the many snails that live in mangrove areas, being a source of food and the economy, especially for people in coastal areas. Land and sea development and transportation activities have the potential to become a source of Pb contamination in tengkuyung and its environment. This study aims to determine the concentration of lead metal (Pb) in sediments and tengkuyung in the Kuala mangrove area of Singkawang City. Sampling was carried out at two station points. Measurement of heavy metal lead (Pb) in sediments and tengkuyung was carried out using atomic absorption spectrophotometry (SAA) method. The results showed that the content of lead (Pb) in the sediment and tengkuyung at station 1 was 0.0914 µg/g and <0.0070 (µg/g), while at station 2 it was 0.3927 µg/g and <0.0070 (µg/g). The content of Pb metal in tengkuyung meat still meets the eligibility for consumption because it is below the threshold according to SNI no. 7387 in 2009, which is 0.5 mg/kg (0.5 ppm).

Abstract

The akar kuning plant (Arcangelisia flava L) from the Menispermaceae family is one of the Bajakah plant groups, which propagate among large trees and are commonly found in tropical forests in the West Kalimantan region. The purpose of this study was to determine the phytochemical compound and activity of anti-inflammatory from the akar kuning stem ethanol extract through the stabilization ability of the human red blood cell membrane (HRBC) in vitro. The akar kuning plant was taken from the forest of the Kapuas Hulu region, dried and mashed first and then extracted by maceration using the organic solvent ethanol. The ethanol extract obtained was concentrated using a rotary evaporatory, then a sample solution of akar kuning ethanol extract was made at several concentrations. Based on the results of phytochemical testing, this plant contained flavonoids, tannins, alkaloids and saponins. Anti-inflammatory activity testing using rabbit blood and using diclofenac sodium as a positive control. The measurement results showed the anti-inflammatory activity of the ethanol extract of the yellow root plant at concentrations of 50, 100, 150, 200 and 250 mg/mL were 28.77, 39.45, 57.53, , 62.80 and 75.50%, while the percentage of HRBC stabilization of the positive control was at the same concentration were 34.55, 46.34., 56.56, 69.88 and 87.33%.

Abstract

Penyakit malaria disebabkan oleh plasmodium yang kemudian ditularkan oleh nyamuk anopheles. Kegiatan PKM ini dilaksanakan mengingat masih ditemukannya beberapa pasien penderita malaria di wilayah Mempawah. Kegiatan ini bertujuan untuk melakukan sosialisasi tentang usaha preventif penularan penyakit malaria melalui giat bersih lingkungan di wilayah Ekowisata mangrove Kuala Mempawah. Kegiatan ini dilakukan dengan metode ceramah dan demonstrasi langsung dalam mengklasifikasikan sampah berdasarkan jenis sampah organik dan an organik, kemudian sampah an organik seperti kaca dan plastik dipisahkan, dan sisanya dibakar bersama dengan sampah ranting kayu dan daun mangrove kering, dilanjutkan dengan penutupan tong-tong air dan genangan air di jalanan yang bisa menjadi sumber berkembangbiaknya nyamuk anopheles sebagai vektor penularan malaria dari manusia ke manusia lainnya. Giat bersih ini diikuti oleh 30 warga yang terdiri dari remaja dan dibantu oleh mahasiswa yang turun mengambil peran dalam pembersihan wilayah ekowisata tersebut. Monitoring dan evaluasi dilakukan sepanjang kegiatan melalu pengamatan aktivitas peserta kegiatan dalam giat bersih dan diskusi yang melibatkan semua peserta. Dari hasil pelaksanaan kegiatan menunjukkan wilayah sekitar ekowisata bersih dari genangan air dan tumpukan sampah, serta kegiatan pembersihan lokasi masyarakat secara periodik sudah dilakukan setiap 2 minggu. Efforts to Prevent Malaria Transmission through Clean Socialization of the Kuala Mempawah Mangrove Ecotourism Environment Malaria is caused by Plasmodium which is then transmitted by the Anopheles mosquito. This PKM activity was carried out bearing in mind that several patients with malaria were still found in the Mempawah area. This activity aims to socialize efforts to prevent the transmission of malaria through environmental cleaning activities in the Kuala Mempawah mangrove Ecotourism area. This activity was carried out using the lecture method and direct demonstrations in classifying waste based on the type of organic and inorganic waste, then the inorganic waste such as glass and plastic was separated, and the remainder was burned together with wood twigs and dry mangrove leaves, followed by closing the water barrels. and stagnant water on the streets which can be a breeding ground for Anopheles mosquitoes as vectors of human-to-human transmission of malaria. This clean activity was attended by 30 residents consisting of teenagers and assisted by students who took part in cleaning up the ecotourism area. Monitoring and evaluation is carried out throughout the activity through observing the activities of activity participants in clean activities and discussions involving all participants. From the results of the implementation of the activity, it shows that the area around ecotourism is clean from puddles and piles of garbage, and periodic cleaning of community sites has been carried out every 2 weeks.Keywords: Ecotourism, Kuala Mempawah, malaria, mangrove

Abstract

Herbal tea is one of the functional drinks, which is consumed for the purpose of preventing or treating disease. The number of side effects that arise from the consumption of drugs made from synthetic or chemical materials has led to a tendency for people to return to consuming herbal plants as a solution to health problems. The purpose of this study is to make tea from the roots of tampala (Spatholobus littoralis Hassk) and to test the physical and chemical properties, organoleptic examination and determination of antioxidant activity. Testing of physical and chemical properties including water content, ash content and pH of the preparation, organoleptic examination including taste and odor and color of the brewed solution and determination of antioxidant activity was carried out using the DPPH method (2,2-diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazil). The results of the physicochemical test of tampala tea showed that a pH of 6.8, water content of 7.63%, ash content of 7.7%. On organoleptic examination, the tea using the brewed water showed a slightly sour taste, a characteristic wood smell and a brownish yellow color. Based on the physical and chemical character of the tampala herbal tea test results, it meets the requirements of SNI No. 3836 of the 2013 National Standardization Agency, while the antioxidant test results of the tampala herbal tea was obtained an IC50 value (Inhibition Concentration 50) of 89.63 ppm, included in the category of strong antioxidant potential, because it is in the category of strong antioxidant potential. in the range of 50-100 ppm.

Abstract

Seaweed is one of the prima donna marine biota which is widely used as a natural antioxidant. Various species of seaweed are found growing naturally in the waters of Kabung Island, West Kalimantan. This study aims to determine the phytochemical content and antioxidant activity of each genus Turbinaria, Hypnea and Caulerpa from those collected in the waters of Kabung Island. Seaweed extraction uses maceration method with methanol to remove active compounds. Next, a phytochemical screening was performed using specific reagents such as alkaloids, steroids, flavonoids, tannins and saponins which will change color or form precipitates. The free radical scavenging method of 2,2-diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl (DPPH) solution was used to test the antioxidant activity of each seaweed extract. The active compound in the sample extract will be formed if there is a change in the color of free radicals from dark purple to light yellow or clean. The results showed that the phytochemical screening of the three seaweed extracts contained tannins, flavonoids and saponins. Meanwhile, positive alkaloids were found in Turbinaria and Caulerpa extracts, and steroids were indicated by the genus Hypnea and Caulerpa. Antioxidant screening showed that Caulerpa extract was categorized as a potent antioxidant with an IC50 value of 88.57 ppm, higher than the IC50 of Turbinaria and Hypnea extracts, which were 114.32 and 138.42 ppm respectively and classified as weak antioxidants.

Abstract

Bamboos are one of the plant species that make up forest vegetation that has many benefits both economically, ecologically and socio-culturally. Environmental quality can be assessed using data on the diversity of bamboo species. This study aims to determine the composition and level of diversity of bamboo species in the Bukit Kinai region. Determination of sampling locations using purposive sampling method with double plots. This research was conducted in January-April 2023 in the Bukit Kinai area of Setanduk Village, Capkala District, Bengkayang Regency. Seven bamboo species from four different genera were identified, namely Bambusa vulgaris Schrad Ex. JC Wendl, Dendrocalamus asper (Schult. F) Backer, Gigantochloa hasskarliana (Kurz) Backer, Schizostachyum blumei Nees, S. brachyladum (Kurz ex Munro) Kurz, S. lima (Blanco) Merrill, and S. mampouw Widjaja. The highest Frequency, Density and INP values were found in the species Gigantochloa hasskarliana (Kurz) Backer, which were 0.85, 261.25 clumps/ha, and 110%, respectively. Low species richness (R = 1.059), low species diversity (H = 0.917), and moderate species evenness and species dominance (E = 0.471 and C = 0.555) were observed in the Bukit Kinai region. Based on this study, the bamboo community in the Bukit Kinai area was in an unstable condition so that its environmental quality can be categorized as poor.

Abstract

Family Medicinal Plants or can be abbreviated as TOGA is a type of plant that is cultivated in the yard of the house. Cultivated plants not only provide family health but also provide the beauty of the yard. The development of TOGA in Cipta Karya Village which is a tourist village has been socialized but the management and utilization of TOGA has not run optimally. The introduction of medicinal plant species and their use is still largely unknown to the public. The purpose of this community service activity program is to increase the income of family members through a program to utilize family medicinal plants as family herbs. The activities carried out were socialization and demonstrations about the potential and utilization of medicinal plants in the community in Cipta Karya village. Socialization about TOGA in addition to supporting health, also provides environmental beauty, plant conservation and can provide family welfare.
