Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui gambaran keterampilan abad 21 mahasiswa melalui model pembelajaran Problem Based-Calculus Learningbantuan software Geogebra pada kalkulus integral. Metode yang digunakan pada penelitian ini adalah metode penelitian kualitatif dengan pendekatan fenomenografi. Adapun subjek pada penelitian ini berjumlah 30 semester III Pendidikan Matematika tahun ajaran 2019/2020 kemudian 3 mahasiswa yang dipilih dengan teknik purposive sampling dari keseluruhan mahasiswa untuk melakukan wawancara. Teknik atau langkah-langkah yang dilakukan dalam penelitian ini adalah memberikan soal-soal keterampilan abad 21 meliputi  kemampuan pemecahan masalah, kemampuan komunikasi, kemampuan berpikir kritis, dan kemampuan berpikir kreatif serta angket, menganalisis hasil tes keterampilan abad 21 dan jurnal, mengelompokkan mahasiswa ke dalam kelompok atas, menengah, dan bawah untuk kemudian dipilih 3 mahasiswa guna diwawancarai terkait hasil tes. Wawancara ini bertujuan untuk mengklarifikasi hasil tes keterampilan abad 21 dan angket kemudian dianalisis secara kualitatif. Hasil yang diperoleh dari penelitian ini adalah keterampilan abad 21 mahasiswa kelompok atas adalah baik, keterampilan mahasiswa kelompok sedang adalah cukup baik, dan keterampilan mahasiswa kelopmpok bawah masih kurang baik.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the low ability of mathematical connections and the unavailability of teaching materials to improve students' mathematical connection skills. The purpose of this study was to develop mathematics teaching materials to improve students' mathematical connection skills with good characteristics and quality of teaching materials. This research uses qualitative and quantitative approaches. The method used is research and development (RD), with a modified Tessmer model design. The research subjects were class VIII students and a mathematics educator at a private junior high school located in Bandung district as well as a mathematics education lecturer. The instruments used were validation sheets, student questionnaires, educator questionnaires, observation sheets, and a set of mathematical connection tests. Data were collected through: validation of teaching materials, limited trials, and field trials. Based on data processing and analysis, two characteristics of the teaching materials developed consist of: material according to the 2013 curriculum; discovery learning model teaching materials design; evaluation according to mathematical connection ability indicators. The results of data analysis related to the quality of teaching materials show that the teaching materials developed are valid, practical, and effective. Thus it can be concluded that the developed teaching materials have characteristics to improve mathematical connection abilities and have valid, practical, and effective qualities.

Abstract

The background of this research is the low mathematical proofing ability of students. One alternative learning that can be applied to improve students' mathematical proofing ability is the PACE learning. The purpose of this study is to find out: whether the students' mathematical evidentiary ability using the PACE learning is better than students who use PBL (Problem Based Learning) models, and how students respond to mathematics learning using the PACE learning. The research method is quasi-experimental, with a pretest-posttest control group design research design. The study was conducted in one of the state high schools in the city of Bandung. The study population was all students of class XI, the sample students of class XI MIPA-1 as the experimental class were given the PACE treatment and class XI MIPA-2 as the control class was given the PBL treatment. The research instrument was a mathematical proofing ability test, a student questionnaire, and an educator observation sheet. The results of the research are quantitative and qualitative data. Analysis of quantitative research results using t test, while qualitative results use a Likert scale. Based on the analysis of the results of the mathematical proofing ability test, it can be concluded that: the mathematical proofing ability of students by using the PACE learning model is better than the students who use PBL learning models, and the students' responses to mathematics learning using the PACE learning are positive.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to describe the process and results of the development of the matrix Inverce module related to students' mathematical connection skill, as well as to describe the quality of the matrix Inverce module in terms of validity and practicality. The method used was design research with Plomp model, includes the initial research stage, development stage, and assessment stage. The data was obtained from interview, document analysis, and questionnaire. The result of this study showed that developed module was valid based on validation of material experts, media experts, and practitioner. The validation results of this module show that this module was quite feasible to use with a percentage of 80.83% from material experts and 75.93% from media experts, and was quite practical to use with a percentage of 76.90% from the educator's response questionnaire. From the validation results and educator responses, this module can be implemented as a learning resource or teaching material. In conclusion, the Inverce matrix module was declared fit and practical to be used as teaching material and learning resources.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the existence of a driving school program, the lack of teaching materials used in schools, and the difficulties of students in solving cross product problems, as well as learning that is only centered on educators. So it is necessary to develop cross product teaching materials whose learning is centered on students. The teaching material developed in this research is a cross product teaching module based on problem based learning related to mathematical problem solving abilities. This study aims to determine the level of validity, effectiveness, and practicality of teaching modules. The research method used is Design-based-Research (DbR) with the plomp model. Sources of data in this study are validators of media experts, material experts, students, respondents of mathematics teachers. Based on the results of the analysis carried out, it can be concluded that the teaching module developed is valid, small group trials are effective and the response from educators is very practical. It is recommended that further research be carried out on a large scale, using different mathematical abilities and learning models.

Abstract

The purpose of the study was to find out the description of the mathematical problem solving abilities of VIII-C class PENIDA Katapang Junior High School students in circle material.  The research uses a qualitative  approach with a descriptive method. Data collection techniques using documents, tests and in-depth interviews. The research subjects were six people consisting of students in the upper, middle and lower categories. The research subjects were determined by purposive sampling technique by using documents study. To find out the problem solving ability of students using test questions that have been validated. In-depth interviews were conducted to find out the low problem solving abilities of student and their causes. The results show that the problem-solving abilities of students were included in the weak category at each level, namely: (1) for the upper category, it was sufficient; (2) for the medium category including less; and (3) for the lower category including very less. So that the overall student problem solving ability  is at a low level.

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatar belakangi oleh rendahnya kemampuan komunikasi matematis peserta didik dalam pembelajaran matematika. Salah satu alternatif pembelajaran untuk meningkatkan kemampuan komunikasi matematis adalah model pembelajaran Think Pair Share berbasis pendidikan karakter percaya diri. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui peningkatan kemampuan komunikasi matematis peserta didik yang memperoleh pembelajaran melalui model pembelajaran Think Pair Share berbasis pendidikan karakter percaya dirietode yang digunakan adalah eksperimen semu (Quasi-Experiment) dengan desain The Nonequivalent Pretest-Posttest Control Group Design. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah peserta didik kelas VIII di salah satu sekolah menengah pertama daerah Cileunyi Kabupaten Bandung tahun ajaran 2022/2023 dengan sampelnya adalah kelas VIII A sebagai kelas kontrol dan Kelas VIII B sebagai kelas eksperimen. Instrumen yang digunakan adalah tes kemampuan komunikasi matematis, angket respon pendidik, dan observasi aktivitas pendidik. Berdasarkan hasil analisis uji Independent Sample T-test, Mann Whitney U-Test, analisis angket dan analisis observasi diperoleh kesimpulan bahwa peningkatan kemampuan komunikasi matematis peserta didik yang memperoleh pembelajaran melalui model pembelajaran Think Pair Share berbasis pendidikan karakter percaya diri lebih baik daripada peserta didik yang memperoleh pembelajaran melalui model pembelajaran Discovery Learning.

Abstract

The main problem in this study is students' ability to think mathematically in solving mathematical problems in learning social arithmetic in their class through minimum guidance-based learning (PBL and DL). This research uses a mixed method to look at the description of students' mathematical thinking abilities and the tendency of these abilities based on students' self-efficacy levels. The results showed that the increase in students' mathematical thinking skills at each level of low self-efficacy based on n-gain calculations. In addition, there is no significant difference in the scores for improving students' mathematical thinking skills based on the learning model and the level of self-efficacy. There is no significant interaction between the Learning Model and the Level of Self-efficacy in determining the increase in the average score of students' mathematical thinking abilities. Other findings show that students with low self-efficacy tend to have limitations in the ability to think mathematically in the process of conjecture and convincing. On the other hand, students with moderate and high self-efficacy have more complete mathematical thinking abilities, including specialization, generalization, conjecture, and convincing. However, in the process of conjecture and convincing, two sub-processes are found, namely knowledge modification using factual knowledge, contextual tools, or substantive thinking, as well as the process of selecting relevant information in solving problems. Therefore, the two groups are divided into four groups based on the way students use conjecture and convincing mathematical thinking abilities, namely: (1) students use specialization mathematical thinking skills based on the knowledge learned from the teacher, (2) students use specialization mathematical thinking abilities based on knowledge acquired in everyday life, (3) students use convincing mathematical thinking abilities by examining the formula used or based on knowledge learned from the teacher, and (4) students use convincing mathematical thinking abilities based on the knowledge obtained in everyday life (factual knowledge).

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi rendahnya kemampuan berpikir kritis dan belum tersedianya bahan ajar materi trigonometri yang sesuai dengan kebutuhan peserta didik, sehingga perlu adanya pengembangan Lembar Kerja Peserta Didik (LKPD) terkait kemampuan berpikir kritis. LKPD yang dikembangkan menggunakan model Project-Based Learning (PjBL) berbasis Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) pada sub materi trigonometri. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui validitas hasil pengembangan LKPD. Metode penelitian yang digunakan pada penelitian ini adalah Research & Development (R&D) dengan model Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation (ADDIE). Sumber data pada penelitian ini adalah validator dan responden. Instrumen penelitian yang digunakan yaitu lembar validasi. Lokasi Penelitian di SMK Taruna Madya pada Tahun Ajaran 2022/2023. Berdasarkan hasil analisis yang telah dilakukan, bahwa hasil pengembangan LKPD tergolong sangat valid.

Abstract

This research was moved by the lack of learning tools that suit students' needs and the low problem solving abilities of students in linear equation systems material. This is the main justification behind the need to develop a teaching module for systems of linear equations that is related to problem solving abilities. This research aims to determine the validity, practicality and effectiveness of the teaching modules developed. This research was carried out in class A-1 of the Nusantara Islamic University Mathematics Education Study Program for the 2022/2023 academic year. This study expects to decide the validity, practicality, and effectiveness of the created educating modules. This examination technique is called plan research with the Plomp model. The information sources in this study are expert validators and students. The data collection instruments used were expert validation sheets, practicality questionnaire sheets, and formative assessment sheets consisting of problem-solving ability tests, affective questionnaires, observations in the affective domain and the psychomotor domain. This information is analysed using percentages outlined based on qualifications. Based on the tests carried out, it can be concluded that the teaching module developed is valid, practical and very effective.
