Abstract

This article discusses Möbius transformation from the point of view of algebra to describe one of its geometric properties, i.e. preserving circles and lines in complex planes. In simple terms, this preservation means that Möbius transformation maps a collection of circles and lines (back) into a collection of circles and lines. In general, the discussion begins with an explanation of the definition of the Möbius transformation in the complex plane. The discussion continues on defining the basic mapping and direct affine transformation. These two concepts are used to prove the existence of the preservation properties of circles and lines in the Möbius transformation. It can be shown that the Möbius transformation can be expressed as a composition of the direct affine transform and the inverse. It can also be shown that the direct affine transform and the inverse both have the property of preserving circles and lines in the complex plane. Thus, it can be concluded that in this study the Möbius transformation has the property of preserving circles and lines in the complex plane.

Abstract

Penelitian ini berbasis desain (design based research) dengan tujuan merancang dan mengembangkan suatu desain pembelajaran dengan model problem-based learning (PBL) dan pembelajaran scaffolding yang dapat membantu kesulitan, melatih dan mengoptimalkan kemampuan berpikir kreatif matematis peserta didik. Tahapan design based research yang dilakukan pada penelitian ini merupakan tahapan penelitian pendahuluan (preliminary research). Pada tahapan tersebut peneliti melakukan analisis kebutuhan dan konteks, telaah literatur. Desain pembelajaran yang merupakan hasil dari penelitian ini berupa pembelajaran scaffolding dengan model PBL. Secara umum desain yang diperoleh adalah kegiatan pembelajaran yang diawali dengan apersepsi, kegiatan pendahuluan, kegiatan inti, orientasi peserta didik pada masalah, mengorganisasi peserta didik untuk belajar konsep yang dibutuhkan dalam pemecahan masalah, membimbing penyelidikan individu dan kelompok tahap 1 dan 2, mengembangkan dan menyajikan hasil karya tahap 1 dan 2, menganalisis dan mengevaluasi proses pemecahan masalah, tes formatif, kegiatan penutup.Kata Kunci: adversity quotient, berpikir kreatif, penelitian pendahuluan, problem-based learning,  scaffolding.

Abstract

Pandemi Covid-19 membawa tuntutan perubahan dan penyesuaian dalam pelaksanaan kegiatan belajar di sekolah yang beralih menjadi kegiatan pembelajaran secara daring. Hal ini tentu mendatangkan permasalahan. Pada artikel ini disajikan hasil survei yang dilakukan kepada 27 mahasiswa pendidikan matematika yang mengikuti program magang, Pengenalan Lapangan Persekolahan, terkait permasalahan pembelajaran matematika di sekolah. Survei dilakukan dua kali, pre-survey dan post-survey, yang untuk selanjutnya dilakukan komparasi terkait kedua hasil yang diperoleh. Dikaji juga perspektif mahasiswa dalam hal permasalahan pembelajaran matematika yang relevan untuk dikaji pada masa pandemi Covid-19. Hasil survei pertama terhadap perspektif mahasiswa menunjukan permasalahan pembelajaran matematika sekolah terbesar adalah masalah kompetensi kognitif peserta didik yang masih rendah, kemudan hasil survei kedua setelah mahasiswa mengikuti kegiatan pengenalan lapangan persekolahan masalah yang sering muncul adalah rendahnya minat peserta didik dalam belajar, secara lebih teperinci terdapat 5 topik teratas menurut perspektif mahasiswa, yakni kesulitan belajar, minat, media, desain, dan prestasi (dalam hal ini kompetensi kognitif). Kata Kunci:  pembelajaran daring, pembelajaran matematika, perspektif.

Abstract

Penelitian ini merupakan suatu penelitian desain (design research) dengan tujuan untuk merancang dan mengembangkan suatu desain Lembar Kerja Peserta Didik (LKPD) yang dapat mengatasi kesulitan dan mengoptimalkan desain LKPD. Tahapan design research yang dilakukan pada penelitian ini hanya tahapan penelitian pendahuluan (preliminary research). Pada tahapan tersebut peneliti melakukan analisis kebutuhan dan konteks, telaah literatur, dan proses pengembangan kerangka konseptual dan teoritis yang dalam hal ini perancangan dan pengembangan desain LKPD. Desain pemebelajaran yang merupakan hasil dari penelitian ini berupa produk LKPD untuk aktivitas peserta didik dalam pembelajaran. Umunnya desain ini deperileh adalah kegiatan perancangan LKPD yang diawali dengan review konsep atau materi terkait dan analisis kurukulum, kbutuhan serta konteks, perancangan LKPD, sehingga menghasilkan produk desain LKPD.Kata Kunci: design-based research, LKPD, penelitian pendahuluan.

Abstract

The aim of this study is to determine the interests and perceptions of mathematics education students in Langsa City towards distance learning, then the next is to study and analyze their communication patterns in learning during the Covid-19 pandemic. The method used in the study was an online survey of 114 mathematics education students from two different universities located in Langsa City, Aceh Province, Indonesia. Survey material contains questions and statements related to interests, perceptions, and communication patterns as the main problems in this study. With all the supports and obstacles, student interest in online learning is very low, 84.21% of respondents are not interested. Then, most of them find it difficult to concentrate while following the lesson. Boredom and difficulty finding relevant learning resources are also part of students' perceptions of online learning. Most of them (79.95%) find it difficult to learn, although 70.18% can still understand the learning material. Furthermore, the WhatsApp application (with all its features) is the most widely used medium of communication to support learning activities (71.93%), both for questions and discussions (both with lecturers and peers). Virtual meeting application is the second most used media for communication (28.07%). The pattern of communication in learning activities is dominated by communication between students and groups of students with a frequency level of 67.64%. Furthermore, communication is carried out between lecturers and groups of students and between lecturers and individuals with a frequency of 24.52% and 7.84%, respectively. According to the results of this study, we argue that it is necessary to develop an integrated blended learning design equipped with a directed communication pattern.

Abstract

Community service in the form of workshop activities is intended to increase the insight and experience of 26 educators at Cut Nyak Dhien High School Langsa City in writing and publishing scientific papers. The writings made are directed in the form of the results of design-based research (DBR) activities, namely in the form of learning designs made by educators that are tailored to the needs and problems contained in each class. This series of community service activities consists of 3 groups of activities. The first group of activities is the stage of preparation and data mining by conducting interviews and observations. Second, core activities were carried out, namely practical workshops and writing of DBR results. The workshop activity was closed with mentoring activities for writing scientific papers. Judging from the survey responses of participants, this workshop activity received a positive response in terms of implementation, presenters, and the usefulness of the material.

Abstract

ABSTRAKTransformasi Mӧbius dengan bentuk umum  dengan  dan  membentuk suatu grup terhadap operasi komposisi. Pembelajaran mengenai grup transformasi Mӧbius  dapat dijadikan sarana melakukan proses abstraksi dan generalisasi dalam kuliah struktur aljabar khususnya pada pembelajaran grup. Dalam desain pembelajarannya terdapat ruang untuk mahasiswa dalam memeriksa suatu sistem termasuk grup atau tidak. Pembelajaran dapat pula memberika ruang bagi mahasiswa untuk memahami konsep homomorfisma dan isomorfisma suatu grup. Dalam pembelajaran ini mahasiswa diarahkan untuk memahami bahwa grup  isomorfis dengan grup  yang dapat membri ruang bagi mahasiswa untuk memahami isomorfisma grup.    Kata Kunci: Grup, Transformasi Mӧbius, Grup

Abstract

The main problem in this study is students' ability to think mathematically in solving mathematical problems in learning social arithmetic in their class through minimum guidance-based learning (PBL and DL). This research uses a mixed method to look at the description of students' mathematical thinking abilities and the tendency of these abilities based on students' self-efficacy levels. The results showed that the increase in students' mathematical thinking skills at each level of low self-efficacy based on n-gain calculations. In addition, there is no significant difference in the scores for improving students' mathematical thinking skills based on the learning model and the level of self-efficacy. There is no significant interaction between the Learning Model and the Level of Self-efficacy in determining the increase in the average score of students' mathematical thinking abilities. Other findings show that students with low self-efficacy tend to have limitations in the ability to think mathematically in the process of conjecture and convincing. On the other hand, students with moderate and high self-efficacy have more complete mathematical thinking abilities, including specialization, generalization, conjecture, and convincing. However, in the process of conjecture and convincing, two sub-processes are found, namely knowledge modification using factual knowledge, contextual tools, or substantive thinking, as well as the process of selecting relevant information in solving problems. Therefore, the two groups are divided into four groups based on the way students use conjecture and convincing mathematical thinking abilities, namely: (1) students use specialization mathematical thinking skills based on the knowledge learned from the teacher, (2) students use specialization mathematical thinking abilities based on knowledge acquired in everyday life, (3) students use convincing mathematical thinking abilities by examining the formula used or based on knowledge learned from the teacher, and (4) students use convincing mathematical thinking abilities based on the knowledge obtained in everyday life (factual knowledge).
