Abstract

Pelatihan pengembangan media pembelajaran integratif bahasa Inggris dan matematika dengan irama sebagai model (You tube video) dan hasil penelitian dari SPs UHAMKA khususnya tentang pengembangan Peer Assessment dan Penggunaan Online Comic Maker digunakan sebagai inspirasi. Kreatifitas peserta pelatihan merupakan salah satu tujuan pelatihan. setelah Hasil kreasi berupa media pembelajaran integratif Bahasa Inggris dan mata pelajaran lain khususnya di Pendidikan Dasar diharapkan dapat dkembangkan lebih lanjut untuk membuat suasana kelas lebih kondusif. Pengembangan media terintegrasi yang berupa Rekayasa Sosial dengan peningkatan keterampilan peserta dengan kerjasama membuat media menghasilkan prototype video pembelajaran dalam bidang : Matematika, Biologi, Ilmu Alam dan Lingkungan dari beberapa sekolah mitra (Budi Mulia, Fatahillah, Darul Mukminin dan Al Azhar)

Abstract

One of the reasons why the participants lack speaking skill is they felt anxious when communicating in English in a real situation, especially with foreigners. There are eight participants in this research joined in house training in one of the company in Jakarta-Indonesia The research is mainly qualitative with some descriptive statistics which employed some data collection techniques: two questionnaires, interview, classroom observation, and document analysis. The data were analyzed by ways of reducing, displaying, and interpreting data. Four participants detail expression related to their Foreign Language Anxiety (FLA) will be illustrated and discussed. The results of the study were most of the participants experience a high level of test anxiety, the sources of anxiety coming from people’s view, preparation, procrastination, expectation, negative consequences/ negative thinking, personal problem, time pressure, format usage, students’ age, students’ familiarity with the testing condition, testing situation factors, and not mastering the skill. The participants’ coping strategies are various which are mostly cooperating.

Abstract

This study examines the application of higher order thinking in a class of Word Formation in Modern English course in Faculty of Classical and Modern Philology, Sofia University. The course description, classroom activities and assessment are presented to give evidence on how high order thinking was applied by the lecturers. The experience of taking courses in Language and Culture program, Department of English and American Studies, implemented in the four language skills from the courses of Varieties of Spoken English and The Principle of Literary Analysis are also elaborated. In the English classrooms, the students were asked to apply higher order thinking skills in order to improve their English mastery. Deep understanding about the subject matters and being able to construct pedagogical content knowledge to develop higher-order thinking skills of the students were shown in the classroom practices in this study.

Abstract

This public service is inspired by the previous action as one of the volunteers in UHAMKA Covid- 19 action. There were 100 Engineering students’ Online motorbike drivers involved in the project yet the recovery of the pandemi is not over. Therefore further programs in the form of creative industry is provided to develop literacy in enterpreneuship. Practitioners are invited in online workshop to support and inspire the participants who are the drivers and the teachers from vocational high school. Follow-up actions in the form of class actions are carried out online with integrative multimedia in English. The activity was carried out using a method consisting of several steps, namely: student Ojol training participants, training in applying knowledge with character development as a starter, interacting with resource persons, simulating the trainees' understanding of integrative multimedia applications in the creative industry and recording in video form. The results of the implementation of the Creative Industry PKM with integrative multimedia have inspired the participants to develop themselves in the business sector. The English used in the media in the form of videos with online business development materials with minimal capital from resource persons and videos in English from Jack Ma have motivated and improved the ability of student members of the PKM partner online driver community and inspired Abdimas partner teachers to add integrated English content with other subject matter.

Abstract

The behaviour of learners in listening to English songs will create a habit, or activity carried out periodically or repeatedly. Learners who always listen to English songs form habitual actions that may affect their language learning process, especially vocabulary acquaintance. The habit of listening to English songs offers occasions to learn the language. The learners who have the habit of listening to English songs will have more vocabulary since they are used to listening to many words in the lyrics. Mastery of vocabulary in writing is essential. Writing is one of the complex language skills because it involves the ability of writing techniques and language skills. With poor vocabulary mastery, students find it difficult to string words together to make a sentence because they lack the vocabulary to represent their writing. Students with good vocabulary mastery were able and easy to string words. They can determine diction for their writing. Keywords: vocabulary mastery; habit of listening to the song.

Abstract

Technology continues to evolve alongside the progress in education, as higher levels lead to higher-quality technological advancements. Education, especially elementary school, is of paramount importance. They typically educate children aged 6 to 13 years. Research findings show that media such as images, videos, and texts can enhance comprehension abilities by up to 90% for children in this age group. Therefore, digital technology can play a crucial role in assisting elementary school children in achieving this level of understanding. Through chatbot digital tool, educational materials comprising images, videos, and texts hoping to motivate students to review the lesson. We developed the chatbot using the Rapid Application Development (RAD) to the application quickly and iteratively. The results of the chatbot testing received positive responses from teachers and students. Based on the evaluation, 90% of students reported feeling motivated and assisted in their learning while using the chatbot Zeno. Thus, the conclusion is that the chatbot can effectively aid the learning processof English and Solar System.
