Kajian Ketersediaan Literatur Wajib Program Sarjana IPB Pada Koleksi Perpustakaan IPB Janti G. Sujana; Deden Himawan; Irma Elvina; Sri Rahayu; Aat Atnah

AbstrakKoleksi merupakan salah satu unsur penting dari sebuah Perpustakaan. Untuk melihat kebutuhan pemustaka terhadap literatur di perpustakaan perguruan tinggi, maka salah satu sumber informasi yang dapat digunakan adalah daftar pustaka yang tertulis pada Garis-Garis Besar Program Pengajaran (GBPP) untuk berbagai mata kuliah yang diajarkan di perguruan tinggi. Kajian ini dilakukan untuk melihat seberapa banyak judul-judul literatur yang menjadi acuan pada GBPP program sarjana Institut Pertanian Bogor (IPB) telah ada di koleksi Perpustakaan IPB. Selanjutnya hasil kajian dapat digunakan sebagai acuan untuk melengkapi koleksi perpustakaan. Dari 785 mata kuliah yang terdata, diperoleh jumlah literatur 6.948 eksemplar. Dilihat dari tahun terbit buku yang menjadi acuan pada GBPP, buku-buku dengan tahun terbit antara 1990-1999 merupakan kelompok tertinggi yaitu 35,04 persen. Buku-buku yang mutakhir, dengan tahun terbit 2000-2012, ada 23,31 persen. Selanjutnya bila dilihat buku-buku dengan tahun terbit yang lebih lama, ada 36,14 persen buku-buku berasal dari tahun terbit di bawah 1990.Keywords : Library collections, References, Bogor Agricultural University Library

Facing the disruptive era IPB Library needs to anticipate various changes by conducting self-evaluation through assessing the impact of their existence for students. Therefore, this study aims: (1) Knowing the relationship between the frequency of student visits to the IPB Library and the GPA; (2) Knowing the relationship between the number of IPB library books borrowed by students and the GPA; (3) Knowing the benefits of the IPB Library in supporting student learning and research processes; (4) Knowing the role of IPB librarians in supporting the learning and research processes of their students; (5) Formulate strategies for the IPB Library to increase its benefits for the learning and research processes of its students. This research is a quantitative study, using a correlation test to see the relationship between the frequency of student visits to the IPB Library and the number of the IPB Library books borrowed by the students with the GPA. This study also used a survey method with a questionnaire accompanied by interviews with three IPB lecturers. The results showed that there was no correlation between the frequency of student visits to the library and the number of library books borrowed on the student's GPA. However, students' perceptions regarding the support of the IPB Library on their learning and research are very good, the average percentage of respondents who agree on the benefits of the library in their learning and research processes is above 90%. Respondents' perception of librarian support in helping students learn is very good, but librarian support for student research is considered lacking. Strategies to increase the benefits of the library and librarians on student learning and research process need to be adjusted to the behavior of the millennial generation. Therefore, it is recommended that the IPB Library immediately implement the concepts based on industrial revolution 4.0. IPB librarians should be improved their competence related to information literacy skills and mastery of information and communication technology.

Tuntutan adanya perubahan terhadap perpustakaan perguruan tinggi di era industri 4.0 semakin nyata. Tulisan ini didasarkan pada berbagai studi literatur terkait tuntutan pengguna perpustakaan perguruan tinggi masa kini akan layanan yang bersifat non-konvensional, walaupun masih ada tuntutan pada layanan yang konvensional. Dibahas juga hasil pengamatan pada web perpustakaan dari perguruan tinggi terkemuka yang memperlihatkan betapa perpustakaan-perpustakaan tersebut telah melakukan transformasi layanannya dengan tidak hanya menyediakan informasi dan mendiseminasikan informasi kepada penggunanya, tetapi berperan aktif dalam proses penelitian sivitas akademika dari persiapan penelitian sampai dengan mempublikasikan hasil penelitian. Kompetensi pustakawan menghadapi era industri 4.0 juga dibahas pada tulisan ini.
