Abstract

Jelly has a supple and elastic texture. Jelly is one kind of product that attracted many people because the texture is different compared to other sweets. One of the factors that affect the quality of jelly is the gel-forming material. This study aims to determine the ratio of seaweed to cow?s gelatin that can produce jelly which has a good chemical and organoleptic quality. The experimental design used in this research is completely randomized design (CRD) with a combination of patterns is a difference ratio of seaweed and cow?s gelatin repeated 3 times so that there are 18 units of the experiment. Chemical parameters were observed consisting of ash and total sugar. Organoleptic parameters were observed consisting of taste and firmness. Jelly that produced in this research had 0.43 to 0.68% ash content and total sugar content 33, -53.67% and it has the organoleptic quality preferred by the panelists. Jelly that produced in this research is still meet the quality standard ISO 3574.2-2008.

Abstract

Ternak itik memiliki peran strategis dalam mensuplai kebutuhan protein hewani baik produksi telur maupun produksi daging terutama di wilayah pedesan. Tanaman ubikayu merupakan salah satu jenis tanaman penghasil umbi dan daunnya belum optimal dimanfaatkan sehingga terbuang begitu saja sebagai limbah, sementara daun ubi kayu mengandung nilai nutrisi yang cukup baik digunakan sebagai pakan ternak unggas.Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji penggunaan tepung daun ubi kayu (Manihotutilissima) dalam ransum terhadap kualitas fisik telur dan income over feed cost itiklokal. Penelitian telah dilaksanakan di Desa Suli Indah Kecamatan Balinggi Kabupaten Parigi Moutong. Itik yang digunakan sebanyak 100 ekor itik lokal betina periode pertama bertelur(umur 22 minggu) yang ditempatkan dalam 20 petak kandang dan tiap-tiap petak ditempatkan 5 ekor. Penelitian didesain dengan menggunakan Rancangan Acak Lengkap(RAL) dengan dengan 4 perlakuan dan 5 ulangan. Perlakuan yang dicobakan yaitu tanpa penggunaan tepung daun ubi kayu dalam ransum(R0),penggunaan tepung ubikayu 2% dalam ransum (R1), penggunaan tepung ubi kayu 4% dalam ransum (R2), penggunaan tepung ubi kayu 6% dalam ransum (R3). Peubah yang diamati yaitu kualitas fisik telur terdiri dari berat telur,  kerabang, albumen telur, kuning telur, indeks warna kuning telur, dan income over feed cost. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan tepung daun ubi kayu berpengaruh tidak nyata terhadap berat telur,  kerabang telur, putih telur dan kuning telur, akan tetapi berpengaruh sangat nyata (P< 0,01) terhadap indeks  warna kuning telur. Nilai income over feed cost yang diperoleh dari penggunaan 6% tepung daun ubi kayu (R3) paling tinggi dilihat dari total penerimaan lebih besar dibandingkan dengan total pengeluaran.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is (1) determining the dose of waste carrageenan/waste seaweed as an adhesive based on physical and chemical quality of fish feed (2) assessing the effect of artificial feeding containing waste carrageenan on the growth of milkfish. Using experimental design method to determine the dose of waste carrageenan as an adhesive based on physical and chemical quality of fish feed. The treatment consisted of4 doses of test adhesive (addition of 3%, 5%,10% and 15% of waste carrageenan) andeach treatment was applied 3 times repetition. The milk fish feed made from waste carrageenan-shaped pellets that havebeen previously calculated formula of milk fish feed using 4 main raw material, namely corn meal, fish meal, soybean meal andfine bran.  Determination of the amount/percentage of used materials was calculated using the square method after knowing the standard range of nutrient content of these materials.The results showed that use of waste carrageenan in the milkfish feed can enhance the growth of the higher milkfish.The growth of milkfish is maintained for 3.5 months with the provision of waste carrageenan 3-15% for 3.3 to5.9 g/day.The treatment gives the highest weight gain milkfish (average 5.9 g/day) is the provision of waste carrageenan with a composition of 15% of the total raw material feed.Keywords: Aquaculture milkfish, waste carrageenan, pellet feed.

Abstract

The objective of the research is to know the effects of the fermented-seaweed meal waste available in the ration to the performance (weight gain, consumption and convertion of ration, carcass production (carcass percentage, carcass components, and abdominal fat). This research applied 80 local day oldduck (DOD). The research design applied was Completely Randomized Design (CRD) consisting of 4 treatments which were repeated for 5 times. Every repetition consists of 4 local duck. The treatments applied were: R0 = Controlled Ration, R1 = Ration containing of 2,5%fermented-seaweed meal waste. R2 = Ration containing of 5% fermented-seaweed meal waste, and R3 = Ration containing of 7,5% fermented-seaweed meal waste.The result of this research shows that the treatments hadnot significant influence on the duck performance and abdominal fat, butsignificantly influence on the percentage of carcass and the carcass components, while  abdominal fat decreaseto the higher fermented seaweed meal waste contained in the ration. Abstract

The site observational is at Morowali Regency, sample take is done on south Bungku district with 5 villages, which are Waru Waru, Jawi Jawi, Kaleroang, Bunginkela and Buajangka. Executed research up to 8 months. Observational target using survey method with direct sampling at the site as simple randoms sampling and purposives sampling, and direct interview with quesioner's. Output that resulting which is carrageenan analysis and seaweed agribusiness effort feasibility study. The product of carrageenan extraction result the higher purification points out that 30% available on Jawi Jawi’s seaweed, the lower (26,45 %) found on Waru Waru, and Morowali regency equals as big as 28.36%. Results of seaweed agribusiness effort feasibility study using five investment criterion showed that carrageenan agroindustri's effort is feasible.Key words : Agroindustry, carrageenan, seaweeds.

Abstract

Small scale capture fisheries is one of the leading sectors that drive the economy of Banggai Laut Regency. Fishing technology improved related to fishing efforts has an effect on the preservation of fish stocks resource in the area that it required management efforts. This study aims to determine the sustainability status of small scale fisheries in Banggai Laut Regency based on ecological, fishing technology, social and economic dimensions. The research was conducted from September to December 2017 in seven sub-districts in Banggai Laut Regency. In determining the sustainability status of each dimension, the Rapfish (Rapid Appraisal for Fisheries Sustainability) approach is used. Furthermore, in determining the attributes that had an influence on the sustainability performance of small scale capture fisheries, a leverage analysis is carried out. The results showed that the highest sustainability index was the economic dimension of 75.57 (good), the ecological dimension of 59.25 (good), and the lowest was the social dimension of 22.95 (very bad), the dimension of fishing technology was 22.62 (very bad). Remedial measures that must be taken to improve sustainability performance include improving law enforcement facilities and infrastructure at sea and empowering supervisory officers, limiting excessive use of FAD, providing subsidies to small scale fisheries, and regulating fishing areas between local fishermen and Andon fishermen.

Abstract

The need better understand the linkages and interdependencies of socio-economic and coastal environmental dynamics has taken on a more deliberate role in the development and assessment of Integrated Coastal Management on Batudaka islands. The DPSIR (drivers- pressures - states - impacts - responses) framework was used in scoping biodiversity management issues and problems. DPSIR model is to analyze the causative factors of pressure on the ecosystem of small islands and recommendations for environmental restoration effort. Results of the study showed that population and economic (tourism and fisheries demand) driving forces causing ecosystem vulnerable.  Land conversions, domestic waste, other pollutant was pressured this area, while increasing driving forces. The State environmental as waters quality is still relative well for tourisms and fisheries activity, physical impact as abrasion and sedimentation, habitat loss and biodiversity changes at 2000 until 2010 year at Batudaka Islands increase life coral and mangrove, decrease seagrass. Impact to environment  i.e. water abstraction,  sediment water fluxes across  coastal zones, change of habitats and biological diversity can be caused decreasing of coastal ecosystem. Abstract

The objective of the present research was to examine the effects of feeding laying hens with sardine oil on the co-3 fatty acids levels of the egg yolk. Results of the study show that changes in the composition of the diet influenced the fatty acid composition of the yolk lipid. Diets with sardine oil from 2 to 8% significantly increased co-3 PUFAs content of the yolk. The increase of w-3 PUFAs was predominated by docosahexaenoic acid (DHA); followed by eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA), and a-linolenic acid (ALA). In term of egg weight basis, the increase of 0-3 PUFAs in egg due to sardine oil consumption. .was from 8.17mg/egg in diet without sardine oil to 102.27 mg/egg in diet with 2% sardine oil, and 232.63mg/egg in diet with 8% sardine oil. (0-6 PUFAs especially arachidonic acid tended to decrease with the increasing intake of sardine oil. Diets with sardine oil significantly (P<0.05) decreased the cholesterol content of the yolk compared to that without sardine oil. Cholesterol content of the eggs produced by laying hens fed with 2% sardine oil was 191.73 mg/egg significantly lower than that of egg produced by laying hens fed without sardine oil. The cholesterol content of 179.74 mg/egg was produced by hens fed with diet containing 8% sardine oil, this was lower that that of egg produced by the commercial feed of 208.09 mg/egg.

Abstract

Burung puyuh merupakan salah satu jenis unggas yang dapat tumbuh dan berkembang dengan cepat apabila kebutuhan nutrien yang terpenuhi. Selain bersumber dari pakan komersil, kecukupan unsur nutrien juga dapat diperoleh dari bahan pakan alamiseperti tepung daun bayam. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh penggunaan tepung daun bayam merah terhadap performa produksi telur burung puyuh. Penelitian ini mengggunakan 60 ekor burung puyuh umur 10 minggu. Perlakuan didesain dengan Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) dengan 5 perlakuan dan 4 ulangan. Perlakuan terdiri dari R0= Ransum Basal; R1= Ransum dengan penggunaan 1% Tepung Daun Bayam Merah (TDBM); R2= Ransum dengan penggunaan2% TDBM; R3= Ransum dengan penggunaan 3% TDBM; dan R4= Ransum dengan penggunaan 4% TDBM. Variabel terdiri dari produksi telur, konsumsi ransum dan konversi ransum. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan tepung daun bayam merah dalam ransum sebesar1-4% memberikan pengaruh tidak nyata (P>0,05) terhadap konsumsi ransum, tetapi berpengaruh nyata (P<0,05) terhadap produksi telur dan konversi ransum. Penggunaan 4% tepung daun bayam merah dalam ransum puyuh dapat meningkatkan produksi telur 7,12% dan menurunkan konversi ransum 8,86%. Berdasrarkan hasil penelitian disimpulkan bahwa penggunaan tepung daun bayam merah pada level 1-4% dalam ransum dapat meningkatkan performa produksi telur burung puyuh. Rataan produksi telur tertinggi yaitu 47,90 g/ekor/minggu dengan konversi ransum 2,88 pada perlakuan dengan penggunaan tepung daun bayam merah 4% dalam ransum.
