The study design was a one group pre and post test. Sampling by purposive sampling amounted to 14 respondents. Data analysis using the Wilcoxon test and paired difference test. Hasi statistical tests showed no significant differences in the physiological responses of premature infants and mothers confidence in caring for the baby. Kangaroo method can be a routine action to improve the physiological responses in hospitals and hospital Undata Anutapura Palu. Abstract

The Neonatal Integrative Developmental Care Model (NIDCM) is a holistic model of premature infant care that refers to the seven neuroprotective developmental care cores involving the family. This study aimed to assess the effect of the application of NIDCM on mothers’ stress response and length of stay in the neonatal care unit. This study used quasi-experimental with nonequivalent control group pre and posttest design. This study was carried out in the neonatal care unit at RSUP Dr. Wahidin Sudirohusodo Makassar from January 2020 to April 2021. The samples were 76 subjects consisting of 38 premature infants (19 controls, 19 interventions) and 38 mothers (19 controls, 19 interventions) ethical clearance by the Health Research Ethics Committee of the Faculty of Medicine, Universitas Hasanuddin No. 938/UN4.6.4.5.51/PP36/2009. The results show 1) NIDCM is proven to be able to reduce maternal stress more compared to routine Developmental Care (DC); 2) NIDCM is proven to shorten the length of stay compared to routine DC in infants with a gestational age of ≥33 weeks with BW ≥1800 grams (Median : 1900 grams), while in infants with a gestational age of <33 weeks and BW <1800 grams (Median : 1650 grams), NIDCM and routine DC are not proven to shorten the length of stay. It can be concluded that applying NIDCM reduces the stressors felt by mothers while their infants are in the neonatal room. In addition, the condition of infants with birth weights less than 1800 grams needs special attention with NIDCM intervention.

Abstract

Due to contextual issues, including social culture and pluralism, spiritual-based leadership in the nursing field has rarely received attention, resulting in comparatively few research projects. Whereas such research can lead to a spiritually supportive environment, benefiting the patients, nurses, and organizations. Current research aims to explore indicators of spiritual-based transformational leadership in Palu City Hospital. This research was done qualitatively through a grounded theory approach and Focus Group Discussion (FGD). In this case, 12 informants were chosen by purposive sampling. The instrument used was Focus Group Discussion (FGD) guidelines. In this study, the results of the FGD were analyzed using the N Vivo 12 Plus. Based on the qualitative data analysis results, a spiritual-based transformational leadership required three primary skill indicators, namely emotional skills, including emotional proficiency and emotional intelligence, spiritual skills including spiritual attitudes and spiritual intelligence, and social skills, namely being able to behave socially. For further research, it is necessary to carry out model intervention and model evaluation under new normal conditions and add other variable components such as performance and commitment.

Abstract

Introduction: The neonatal stage is important because of its high mortality risk. Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) is both an important and dangerous place for preterm babies since it can increase the developmental disorders in the baby. Various programs containing several early interventions for preterm babies are implemented and combined into a developmental care model. Objective: This study identified the components, contents, and interventions in the developmental care model for preterm babies that is suitable for Indonesia. Method: This qualitative research was done through Rapid Assessment Procedures (RAP) to produce information quickly to help decision-making, continued by content analysis using Microsoft Excel through several stages, namely case classification, condensing, streamlining meaning, and compiling, hence producing subcontent. Results: The DSC developmental care model looks more detailed, while NIDCM has core components of teamwork and collaboration that are not found in the DSC, thus complementing each other. Conclusion: The NIDCM developmental care model is more applicable than DSC since it can be done in the NICU with limited human resources or staff that are not yet fully trained. Both interventions need to be made shorter, and terms can be created as a combination of both so that they become alternative developmental care.
