Abstract

Ponsel sebagai gaya hidup masyarakat modern dimana hampir setiap orang, termasuk pelajar Sekolah Lanjutan Tingkat Atas (SLTA). Survei yang dilakukan Pew Internet and American Life Project pada tahun 2013 didapatkan kelompok usia 18-29 tahun yaitu usia pelajar dan Penguruan Tinggi merupakan pengguna ponsel terbanyak diantara semua kelompok umur yakni sebesar 80%. Kenyataaannya penggunaan ponsel dikalangan pelajar dapat menimbulkan ketergantungan ponsel sehingga dapat berdampak negatif pada diri pelajar dan lingkungan sosial pada pelajar. Penelitin ini bertujuan mengetahui pengaruh penggunaan sebagai media sosial, untuk mendengarkan musik dan bermain game dengan ketergantungan ponsel pada pelajar. Metode penelitian ini yang digunakan adalah cross sectional. Sampel terdiri 30 pelajar dari 3 sekolah di Kecamatan Oebobo. Hasil penelitian dari analisis Regresion Ordinal menunjukkan bahwa telah diperoleh penggunaan sebagai media sosial dan untuk mendengrakan musik terhadap ketergantungan ponsel pada pelajar di Kecamatan Oebobo terdapat pengaruh yang signifikan dikarenakan nilai p<0,05 (nilai α). Setelah di uji Regression Ordinal Multiple yakni variabel sebagai media sosial yang mempunyai pengaruh yang paling kuat dari variabel mendengarkan musik dan bermain game. Hasil penelitian diatas dapat mengupayahkan dan menerapkan regulasi yang jelas untuk para pelajar SLTA dalam penggunaan ponsel di lingkungan sekolah dan aturan waktu penggunaan dirumah pelajar.Kata Kunci : Media Sosial, Musik, Ponsel, Pelajar

Abstract

Breast milk is the best investment for children’s health and intelligence of. Exclusive breastfeeding is influenced by health behavior factors, one of which is a driving factor including husband and family support that is necessary for mothers to breastfeed exclusively. The purpose of this study was to analyze the relationship between husband and family support with exclusive breastfeeding in breastfed mothers of KP-ASI members in Megaluh Jombang Public Health Center. This study is an observational analytic study with cross sectional design. Sample was breastfed mother who is participant of KP-ASI and had infants aged 6-12 months as much as 74 people selected using purposive sampling method. The data was collected through interview using a questionnaire. The result showed there was a correlation between family support and exclusive breastfeeding behavior (p = 0.011) but there was no correlation between husband support with exclusive breastfeeding behavior (p = 0.090). In conclusion, family support as reinforcing factor can motivate a mother to do exclusive breastfeeding. It is expected that all members of the family can provide support for mother to breastfeed exclusively and cadres can also invite mothers’ family members (parents, husband, siblings) to participate in the counseling (KP-ASI) activity and provide education regarding the importance of exclusive breastfeeding.Keywords: breastfeeding behavior, exclusive breastfeeding, family support, husband support

Abstract

Teenagers swimming athlete has higher nutrient requirement than most teenagers with the same age to support  their growth and their sport activity. Swimming athletes are required to have good body composition for maximum performance. The aim of this research was to measure macronutrient consumption, percent body fat, and aerobic endurance of teenager swimming athlete. This research was an observational descriptive using cross-sectional study design with 23 swimming athletes who have minimum age of 10 years and having minimum one regency-stagecompetition attended. The data collected by interviewer, include characteristics, food consumption by 2x24 hours food recall, body fat percentage by Bioelectrical Impedance Analysis, and aerobic endurance by Critical Swim Speed Test. The result showed that energy intake was 2394.8 ± 780 kcal in male athlete and 2125.9 ± 336.6 kcal in female athlete,protein consumption was 108.4 ± 38.5 gram in male athlete and 85.1 ± 23.9 gram in female athlete. Body fat was 17.8 ± 6.7% in male athlete and 24.1 ± 7.3% in female athlete and critical swim speed was 1.05 ± 0.17 m/s in male athlete and 1.06 ± 0.12 m/s in female athlete. It is concluded that energy intake and protein consumption had fulfi lled standard of swimmers need. Body fat level was higher than swimmers standard. The mean of CSS was 1,05 ± 0,15 m/s. Therefore, athlete should maintain their diet and increase their exercise.Keywords: aerobic endurance, swimming athlete, energy intake, protein intake, body fat

Abstract

Cancer patients had a decrease in appetite which leads to weight loss and nutritional status due to the cancer itself or the side effect of therapy. The existence of family support as a chaperone has an important role in the nutritional fulfillment of cancer patients as a form of instrumental support. The aim of this research was to identify the role of family support and the eating habit of cancer patients during undergo a therapy while living in Rumah Singgah Sasana Marsudi Husada, Cancer Foundation Indonesia branch of East Java. This was a descriptive research with cross sectional study design. The sample was total population of cancer patients for about 20 people. Data collected by interview including the role support from chaperone and eating habit of cancer patients which includes the type and frequency of eating. The type and frequency of eating were categorized according to Healthy Eating Index. This research found that 15% respondents who have good diet obtain the good role of chaperone support and respondents who included as diet needs improvement obtain the role of good chaperone support (30%) and quiet chaperone support (35%). The conclusion is that eating habit of cancer patients not only influenced by the role of chaperone support, but also influenced by characteristics of cancer patients. Cancer patients should improve their food intake, especially fruit, vegetable, and milk intake to achieve good diet. Keywords: eating habits, cancer patient, role of chaperone support, therapy

Abstract

Adolescents prefer to consume high fat and high sugar food compare to healthy food such as fruit and vegetable. High fat and high sugar food are risk factor of diabetes mellitus development, especially in adolescents whose parents had diabetes mellitus. The aim of this study was to analyze the difference of eating habit and nutritional status between adolescents with DM parents and non DM parents. This was a cross-sectional research included 42 adolescents as sample that divided into 21 adolescents with DM parents and 21 adolescents with non DM parents. The sample was chosen randomly using simple random sampling technique. The difference of each variable was analyzed using Independent T-test and Mann Whitney (α = 0,05). The result showed that there was no difference of high glycemic index food consumption (p = 0,229) and fruit – vegetable consumption (p = 0,14) between adolescents with DM parents and non DM parents. However, adolescents with DM parents were eat high GI food more often compared to adolescents with non DM parents. There was a difference of BMI (Body Mass Index) between adolescents with DM parents and non DM parents (p = 0,036). The research concludes that most of adolescents with DM parents were obese. The adolescents need to reduce the frequency of high glycemic index (GI) food consumption, increase fruits and vegetable consumption, and also increase physical activities, particularly for adolescent with DM parents.Keywords: Diabetes Mellitus, genetic factor, consumption patterns, nutritional status

Abstract

The content of EPA and DHA in lemuru fish oil can be used to prevent obesity risk factors. This study aims to determine the effect of purified lemuru fish oil on the weight of Wistar rats induced by trans fatty acids. This research is an experimental study using a randomized block design with a post test only control group. The research sample was 30 male Wistar rats aged two to three months, grouped into two control groups (K) which were given standard feed (K0) and those given standard feed after two weeks of trans fatty acid induction (K1) and three treatment groups (P). ) with lemuru fish oil intervention as much as 0.34 ml (P1), 0.67 ml (P2), and 1.34 ml (P3). The induction material was 2.3 g of liquid margarine, containing 3.8% trans fatty acids. The intervention material was lemuru fish oil from the purification process containing 18.05% EPA and 9.37% DHA. Induction of margarine for two weeks made the body weight of the rats increased by 27.90% (P2) compared to the control (K0) 16.06%. After the intervention period of lemuru fish oil for three weeks, the weight of the treatment group P1 (18.53%), P2 (14.74%), and P3 (13.19%) was lower than the control group K0 (22.79%) and K1 (25.31%).

Abstract

Introduction: Decreased muscle mass in the elderly often occurs due to the aging process. Identification of muscle mass needs to be done to optimize the health status of the elderly. So, this article will identify muscle mass in the elderly. Methods: Community service was carried out to 54 elderly people in a nursing home. For the elderly, health checks are carried out including body composition measurements, especially muscle mass, as well as nutrition education and counseling. The inclusion criteria for the elderly who take part in the activity include (1) healthy and able to stand; (2) fully aware; (3) not bed rest; (4) able to communicate and cooperative. The data presented include age, length of stay, body mass index, and body composition, namely muscle mass. Results: About three-quarters of the elderly are women and have lived in a nursing home for approximately 3 years. The average nutritional status of the elderly is normal (21.6 ± 4.5 kg/m2). As many as 96.3% of the elderly have a low muscle mass index and 53.7% of the elderly have a high fat mass. The muscle mass of older men was higher than that of women (26.2 ± 2.8 vs 21.9 ± 1.9). Conclusion: Almost all the elderly has low muscle mass due to the physiological aging process and decreased activity of the elderly in using muscles. . Elderly women were observed to have lower muscle mass index than that of men. Identification of muscle mass strength is also needed to find out more about sarcopenia in the elderly.

Abstract

Background: Premenstrual Syndromes are commonly found in many adolescent girls. There are several factors that contribute to the incidence of premenstrual syndrome such as hormonal change, nutritional status, food intake, and lifestyle.Objectives: The purpose of this study was analyzing correlation of sufficiency of carbohydrate and percentage fat body with premenstrual syndrome in female teenagers at SMA Negeri 4 BojonegoroMethods: The research used cross sectional study. The sample size was 110 female students in SMA Negeri 4 Bojonegoro. The data were collected by measuring percentage body fat to obtain percentage body fat variable; 2x24 hours estimated food recall to obtain of carbohydrate sufficiency; and Moos Menstrual Distress Questionnare (MDQ) for premenstrual syndrome cases. The data were analyzed using spearman test to find out correlation between carbohydrat sufficiency and percentage fat body intake towards premenstrual syndrome (PMS) in female teenagers. Result: The result of this study showed that there was correlation between sufficiency of carbohydrate) and Premenstrual Syndrome (p=0.010). Beside that, there was also a not correlation between percentage body fat) and Premenstrual Syndrome (PMS) (p= 0.642). Conclusions: There was correlation between levels of carbohydrate intake with premenstrual syndrome in female teenagers and there was not corelation between percentage fat body with premenstrual syndrome in female teenagers of Senior High School 4, Bojonegoro. Therefore, adolescent girls encouraged to increase carbohydrate intake to prevent the occurrence of premenstrual syndrome.ABSTRAK Latar Belakang: Sindroma Pramenstruasi (PMS) banyak melanda remaja putri. Terdapat beberapa faKtor yang berkontribusi terhadap kejadian sindroma pramenstruasi seperti perubahan hormonal, status gizi, asupan makan, dan gaya hidup.Tujuan: Tujian dari penelitian ini adalah untuk menganalisis hubungan tingkat kecukupan karbohidrat dan persen lemak tubuh dengan sindroma pramenstruasi (PMS) pada remaja putri di SMA Negeri 4 BojonegoroMetode: Penelitian ini dengan desaincross sectional. Populasi penelitian ini adalah siswi SMA Negeri 4 Bojonegoro. Hasil dari perhitungan random sampling didapat 110 siswi sebagai sampel. Pengumpulan data menggunakan pengukuran persen lemak tubuh untuk mendapatkan variabel persen lemak tubuh, pengisian form Estimated Food Recall 2x24 jam untuk mendapatkan variabel tingkat kecukupan karbohidrat.,dan menggunakan Moos Menstrual Distress Questionnare  (MDQ)  untuk mendapatkan variabel Sindroma Pramenstruasi. Data dianalisiss menggunakan uji spearman untuk mengetahui hubungan tingkat kecukupan karbohidrat dan persen lemak tubuh dengan sindroma pramenstruasi pada remaja putri .Hasil: Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan ada hubungan antara tingkat kecukupan karbohidrat dengan sindroma pramenstruasi (p= 0,010) dan tidak ada hubungan antara persen lemak tubuh dengan sindroma pramenstuasi pada remaja putri (p= 0,642).Kesimpulan: Terdapat hubungan antara tingkat kecukupan karbohidrat dan persen lemak tubuh dengan kejadian sindroma pramenstruasi pada siswi di SMA Negeri 4 Bojonegoro. Oleh karena itu, remaja putri dianjurkan untuk mengonsumsi karbohidrat sesuai kecukupan untuk mencegah kejadian sindroma pramenstruasi.

Abstract

ABSTRAK Latar Belakang :Gizi olahraga merupakan aspek penting dalam mengatur asupan makanan dan komposisi tubuh untuk mencapai performa yang optimal. Studi epidemiologis menunjukkan sebagian besar asupan atlet tidak adekuat dan dapat mempengaruhi komposisi tubuh yang ideal.Tujuan :Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk menganalisis pengaruh pendampingan gizi olahraga terhadap komposisi tubuh dan asupan energi atlet bela diri.Metode :Pendampingan gizi intensif dilakukan selama empat bulan (Juni- September 2019). Pengukuran komposisi tubuh  dilakukan 2 kali, yakni sebelum dan sesudah intervensi dengan menganalisis hasil pengukuran dari alat BIA (Bio Impadance Analyzer) tipe MBCA (Medical Body Compotiton Analyzer) 515/514 merk seca©. Variabel yang dianalisis diantaranya, total asupan kalori sehari diukur menggunakan instrumen Recall-24 jam, komposisi tubuh diukur dengan alat BIA yakni Fat Mass (FM), Fat Free Mass (FFM) dan Skeletal Muscle Mass (SMM). Pendampingan gizi dilakukan oleh ahli gizi olahraga yang mengunjungi 24 responden setiap bulan dan memberikan materi pendidikan gizi, memberikan makanan sehat dan memberikan konseling permasalahan gizi atlet.Hasil : Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan adanya peningkatan secara signifikan pada asupan energi total (1496,2±654,4 menjadi 1688,5±679,8, p= 0,002). Pada komposisi tubuh terjadi peningkatan pada FFM dan SMM yakni (56,57 ± 9,91 kg vs 57,01 ± 9,53, p = 0,032) dan (27,49 ± 5,58 vs 27,75 ± 5,31, p = 0,005) dan tidak ada perbedaan signifikan dalam variabel  FM.Kesimpulan : Kesimpulan dari percobaan ini adalah pendampingan gizi secara intensif dapat meningkatkan asupan energi total, FFM dan SMM pada atlet bela diri. Kata Kunci : Komposisi tubuh, pendampingan gizi, asupan energiABSTRACTBackground :Sports nutrition is very urgent to improve nutrition knowledge, dietary intake and body composition to achieve an optimum athletic performance. Epidemiological studies showed most athletes lack of getting adequate intake and maintaining an ideal body composition.Objective :This study aims to analyze the effect of sport nutrition education on body composition and energy intake among elite combat sport athletes.Methods :Intensive sport nutrition was conducted for four months June until September 2019. Body composition was assessed  for 2 times, before and after intervention using bioelectric impedance analysis (BIA), with seca© brand 515/514 type of stainless steel electrodes.Measurement of energy intake with recall 24 hours before and after the intervention. The variables studied were Fat Mass (FM), Fat Free Mass (FFM), Skeletal Muscle Mass (SMM) and energy intake.The professional sport nutritionist and dietitians visited 24 subjects every month by teaching nutrition education, bringing the healthy food, and facilitating the counseling about sport nutrition.Result :Energy intake increased significantly (1496,2±654,4 to 1688,5±679,8, p= 0,002). FFM and SMM increased significantly pre to post (56.57±9.91 kg vs 57.01±9.53, p=0.032) and (27.49±5.58 vs 27.75±5.31, p=0.005) respectively, meanwhile no significant differences in FM variable.Conclusion : Our findings indicate that intensive sport nutritionimproved energy intake, FFM and SMM among elite combat sport athletes. Keywords : Body compotition, sport nutririon education, energy intake

Abstract

One of the most prominent health problems for athletes is excellent fitness; thus, to meet such conditions, training is carried out with High-Intensity Interval Training. However, if it is done excessively, negative effects such as oxidative stress may result. External antioxidant, such as fruits, is therefore needed to reduce oxidative stress. This study further aims to pore over the effects of fruit consumption on the decrease of the MDA level of athletes during the HIIT with systematic review and meta-analysis as the research designs. The data is obtained through literary studies: PubMed, Semantic Scholar, Google Scholar, Elsevier, BMC, and PMC-NCBI. Furthermore, seven articles are reviewed by utilizing the PICOS and PRISMA principles. The data are further processed by using the RevMan 5.4 software. The summary effect results in CI 95% = -2.19 [-3.09, -1.29], which implies that there is a significant effect of fruit consumption on the athletes’ MDA level.
