Abstract

PT JJ is the largest and most integrated agri-food company in Indonesia. The company's main business units are the manufacture of animal feed, chicken breeding, poultry processing and agricultural cultivation. PT. JJ has 3 dryer machines, including dryer 1, dryer 2, and dryer 3, in this drying process there is a problem in dryer 3, where the carrying capacity of raw materials is not sufficient so that drying activities are hampered and the dryer machine does not work optimally, with problems This causes the production process to experience obstacles so that it wastes a lot of time which makes work ineffective and detrimental to the company. By doing this research, it aims to increase the carrying capacity of corn raw materials in the dryer machine which is only capable of transporting 17 tons/hour of raw material and to maximize the productivity of the dryer machine, so that production time is more effective and minimizes losses. After redesigning the bucket using the Common Formula Elevators formula, the bucket capacity/volume increased from 0.5 kg/bucket to 0.8 kg/bucket, increased the elevator engine capacity from 17 tons/hour to 23 tons/hour, and made changes in the form of a bucket elevator.

Abstract

PT. Z is a company that produces drinking water in 240 ml cups, 330 ml bottles, 600 ml bottles, 1500 ml bottles, and 19 liter gallons. The warehouse owned serves to store the products produced before being distributed to customers. The problems faced by PT. Z is a long product pick-up time because the product placement is done randomly without any display of the product type name in the warehouse and the irregular distance of product placement that has high demand to the warehouse exit and there is no line in every area of the goods storage road which makes it difficult for operators to mobilize. The purpose of this research is to redesign the warehouse to be more efficient so that it can reduce the time and distance of product transfer with the Dedicated Storage method, and provide suggestions for improving the warehouse layout while maintaining the existing warehouse area so that activities run effectively and efficiently and the use of the space requirement becomes more optimal. The results of this study can minimize the displacement distance at the Input/Output (I/O) point where before repairing the product search time for 1 month it takes 235,837 seconds (65.5 hours/month) however, with the proposed product warehouse layout, it is now 175,120 seconds (48 hours/month).

Abstract

This study was conducted at PT. BV whose activities are in the coal mining sector, where there is a sample preparation process which aims to minimize the presence of impurities that will interfere with the coal analysis process. In the process there are two important tools used, namely the Hammer Mill and the Rotary Sample Divider. If we look at the use of these two separate tools, they are not efficient in terms of time, space and human resources, as a result the sample results are not optimal. So it is necessary to redesign the Hammer Mill machine and the Rotary Sample Divider machine by combining the two machines in one design, so that their function is simpler and more efficient, and also produces homogeneity in the coal samples to be analyzed. It is hoped that by combining the 2 tools used into one, we can overcome the lack of efficiency in sample preparation and get maximum results. The analysis used to identify problems uses a fishbone diagram to support identification, exploration, and depicts in detail all the causes related to this problem. The result of the redesign is a modified Hammer Mill Sample Divider that is more efficient and produces homogeneous coal samples to be analyzed. Apart from that, testing data on the sample preparation process using a modified Hammer Mill Sample Divider machine showed that the total testing time for 10 samples was obtained with an average time of 12.55 minutes, a maximum time limit of 14.02 minutes and a minimum time of 10.8 minutes and with the re-design of the Hammer Mill Sample Divider can minimize costs, use of human resources and time.. Abstract

Research on planning spare part inventory in the Car Body Repair Process at PT. T, which is a company in the automotive sector, uses the Min-Max method which aims to be able to better plan spare part inventory for customer satisfaction. This was motivated by the fact that the spare parts needed were not available, causing the car repair process to be delayed and cars having to stay overnight while waiting for the parts to be ordered and to arrive. From the results of data processing using the min-max method which has been carried out, it was concluded that the more often spare parts are used, the greater the minimum and maximum values when compared to spare parts that are rarely used. That there are 6 items out of 61 spare parts (0.1%) that are recommended not to have minimum stock or do not need stock because there has been no demand for parts for quite a long time. Meanwhile, for other items, it is recommended to stock at least 1 to meet existing demand. Apart from that, there are 5 items or 0.1% of spare parts with a maximum stock of only one because there is still demand, and 27 items out of 61 spare parts (44%) are recommended to have more than 10 maximum stocks.
