Abstract

ABSTRAK Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pendapatan, tingkat kemiskinan dan tingkat ketahanan pangan rumahtangga nelayan Kecamatan Jerowaru Kabupaten Lombok Timur. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif dan dilakukan di Kecamatan Jerowaru dengan responden penelitian adalah rumahtangga nelayan. Pendapatan rumahtangga nelayan Kecamatan Jerowaru sebesar Rp. 22.753.484/tahun (Rp 1.896.124/bulan), tingkat kemiskinan rumahtangga nelayan termasuk dalam kriteria tidak miskin dan ketahanan pangan rumahtangga nelayan termasuk dalam kategori tidak tahan pangan dengan proporsi pangan sebesar 82 %. ABSTRACT This research purpose was to know income, proverty level and food tenacity of fisherman household in Jerowaru District. This research used descriptive method and was done in Jerowaru District with respondents were fisherman households. Income of fisherman household Jerowaru District was Rp. 22.753.484/year (Rp.1.896.124/ mounth), fisherman household included as not poor and not in the category of food security.

Abstract

Abstrak Petani Indonesia telah lama bergantung kepada kredit untuk membiayai usahataninya. Tulisan ini mendeskripsikan kegiatan bertani yang dilakukan oleh petani pemakai kredit di Lombok Tengah, Indonesia. Survei telah dilaksanakan pada Juli 2001 – Maret 2002 terhadap 65 petani pemakai kredit pemerintah atau swasta di tiga desa dalam kabupaten tersebut. Data dari petani dikumpulkan melalui wawancara secara tatap muka dan semi terstruktur dan dianalisis secara deskriptif. Hasil-hasil survei menunjukkan bahwa secara rata-rata petani mempunyai status sosial ekonomi yang rendah, seperti yang ditunjukkan oleh penguasaan lahan yang rendah dan kurangnya modal. Akibat keterbatasan modal, produsen biasanya menggunakan kredit untuk melangsungkan kegiatan pertaniannya, dan dengan menerapkan tingkat input yang lebih rendah dari yang direkomendasikan. Akibatnya, usahatani mereka menjadi kurang produktif dan pendapatan beserta kemampuan membayar hutang mereka menjadi menurun. Karena keterbatasan pendapatan tersebut maka petani selayaknya diberikan bantuan dana gratis alias tanpa kewajiban membayar kembali. Abstract There has been a long dependency on credit by Indonesian farmers as a result of the lack of capital to apply proper farming practices. This paper describes the farming activities applied by agricultural credit users in Central Lombok, Indonesia. A survey was conducted during July 2001- March 2002 of 65 farmers making use of government or private credit in three villages within the Regency. Data from the farmers were collected using face-to-face, semi-structured interviews, and were analysed descriptively. Survey results indicated that on average, farmers had low socio economic status, such as small land holding and lack of capital. As a consequence of their capital constraints, farmers were commonly making use of credit to finance their farming activities, in which farmers generally applied less than recommended amount of inputs. As a result, their farms become less productive and their income and repayment capability of loans diminished. Due to such low income the producers should be granted funds rather than providing them with credit with repayment responsibility.

Abstract

Abstrak Banyak kebijakan pertanian yang telah diambil untuk meningkatkan produksi pertanian dan pendapatan produsen atau masyarakat umum, tapi masih seringkali tidak efektif. Tulisan ini menggaris bawahi bahwa salah satu saran penting dalam pembuatan kebijakan adalah perlunya dialog, terutama dengan pengguna dari kebijakan tersebut, sehingga motivasi dan kebutuhan mereka dapat difahami secara lebih tepat. Banyaknya kegagalan yang terjadi dalam program perkreditan pertanian Indonesia hingga saat ini, misalnya ditentukan oleh kekurang fahaman pembuat kebijakan terhadap motivasi dan kebutuhan pengguna dalam pemanfaatan dan pelunasan kredit. Mari kita tanya petani bila kita akan membuat kebijakan yang terkait dengan kehidupan mereka! Abstract Many agricultural policies have been made to increase agricultural production, income of farmers or other groups, yet the policies sometimes were ineffective. This paper highlights the importance of dialog in policy making, especially dialog with the users of that policy, such that their motivations and needs can be more fully understood. The lack of such understanding was one of the reasons in failures in many Indonesian agricultural credit programs so far. Therefore, let’s ask agricultural producers if we are going to make policy related to their life.

Abstract

ABSTRAK Tulisan ini memberi analisis tentang peranan agroindustri bersama agrowisata dalam meningkatkan ketahanan pangan masyarakat. Secara khusus penelitian ini dilaksanakan di Desa Gumantar, Kecamatan Kayangan, Kabupaten Lombok Utara. Di lokasi ini dilakukan pengembangan agrowisata dengan penanaman tanaman-tanaman yang mempunyai daya tarik keindahan dan juga menguntungkan bagi petani pelaku. Nilai tambah terhadap produk yang dihasilkan diciptakan dengan cara melakukan kegiatan pengolahan (agroindustri) produk hasil pertanian menjadi produk-produk olahan yang mempunyai nilai ekonomi tinggi dan dinilai sesuai dengan kebutuhan wisatawan. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa pengembangan agrowisata yang dilanjutkan dan dikombinasikan dengan kegiatan agroindustri dapat meningkatkan ketahanan pangan masyarakat. ABSTRACT This paper provides an analysis of the role of agro-industry along with agro-tourism in improving the food security of the community. Specifically this research was conducted in Gumantar Village, Kayangan District, North Lombok Regency. In this location, the development of agro-tourism is implemented by planting of plants that have atractions of beauty and also provitable to the farmers. Added value to the resulted product is created by processing of agricultural products into processed products that have high economic value and viewed can meet the needs of tourists. The result of analysis shows that the development of agro-tourism which is combined with agroindustry activities can increase the food security of the community.

Abstract

ABSTRAK Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk: (1) Mengidentifikasi dan menganalisis faktor internal dan eksternal yang mempengaruhi pemasaran usaha buah nanas madu di Kota Mataram; (2) Memformulasikan strategi pemasaran usaha buah nanas madu di Kota Mataram. Lokasi penelitian ini ditentukan secara purposive sampling yaitu di Kota Mataram. Penentuan responden dilakukan dengan metode sensus yaitu berjumlah 26 usaha. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa: (1) faktor internal (kekuatan dan kelemahan) dan faktor eksternal (peluang dan ancaman) usaha buah nanas madu di Kota Mataram. Kekuatannya adalah: (a) rasa buah nanas madu yang manis, (b) harga buah nanas madu terjangkau, (c) bahan baku mudah ditemukan, (d) keuntungan usaha nanas madu yang relatif tinggi. Kelemahannya adalah: (a) keterbatasan modal, (b) manajemen usaha masih lemah, (d) buah yang mudah busuk. Peluangnya adalah: (a) permintaan pasar yang tinggi, (b) khasiat buah nanas madu, (c) Kesadaran masyarakat. Ancamannya adalah: (a) adanya buah substitusi, (b) adanya pedagang lain, (c) gangguan hujan. (2) Strategi pemasaran yang harus dilakukan oleh usaha pemasaran buah nanas madu adalah pertumbuhan agresif (growth oriented strategy) yaitu meningkatkan jumlah penjualan buah nanas madu dengan cara memberbanyak membeli buah nanas madu di tempat pusat-pusat produksi buah nanas madu dan membuka cabang-cabang usaha buah nanas madu di tempat yang berbeda. ABSTRACT The aims of this research are to identify internal and external factors that affect the marketing of honey pineapplebusiness in Mataram, and to formulate marketing strategy for business of honey pineapple in Mataram. The study area is determined by purposive sampling in Mataram. The determination of respondents was done by sensus method that is amounted to 26 respondents. The results showed thatthere are two factors influencing pineapple busuiness, nameley internal factors (strenghts and weaknessesof the business) and external factors(opportunities and threats of the business). The Strenghts consisting of: (a)sweet taste ofhoney pineapple, (b) price of honey pineapple, (c) late availability of honey pineapple, (d) high profit of the business. The weakness consiting of: (a)limited funds, (b) business management, (c) perishable honey pineapple. Meanwhile the opportunities of the business consiting of (a) high market demand; (b) the efficacy of honey pineapple, (c) citizen’s awareness. Thethreats of the business consisting of: (a) the presence of substitutes; (b) the presence of other traders; (c) rain disturbance. Marketing strategy that must be done in marketing effort of honey pineapple fruit is aggressive growth strategy, that is to increase the number of sales of honey pineapple by purchasing honey pineapple in production centers and opening branches of fruit business of honey pineapple in different places.
