Abstract

Hidroksiapatit (HAp) [Ca10(PO4)6(OH)2] telah dipergunakan secara luas dalam bidang kedokteran dan kedokteran gigi sebagai bahan substitusi tulang/gigi, hal ini karena komposisi dan strukturnya sama sebagaimana kandungan tulang/gigi. Tetapi HAp yang ada di Indonesia masih import. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah membuat bahan biokeramik hidroksiapatit dari gipsum alam Kulon Progo (KPNG) kemudian mengkarakterisasi dengan pengujian FTIR. Sintesa HAp dilakukan dengan teknik Hydrohermal Microwave dengan mereaksikan antara KPNG (CaSO4.2H2O) dengan diamonium hidrogen fosfat [(NH4)2HPO4]. Kemudian hasil reaksinya dianalisa dengan pengujian FTIR dan dibandingkan dengan HAp 200 Jepang sebagai pembanding. Dari hasil analisa didapat pola-pola FTIR hidroksiapatit hasil reaksi menyerupai HAp 200 Jepang dan HAp SRM 2910.

Abstract

Kegunaan meta analisis dalam studi ini adalah untuk menjelaskan dan membuktikan hubungan keterkaitan antara penerapan metode peningkatan kualitas yaitu TQM (Total Quality Management) terhadap peningkatan kinerja organisasi. Artikel-artikel yang digunakan dalam meta analisis ini dikumpulkan melalui electronic journal database antara tahun 2003-2014. Terdapat 12 jurnal yang dapat dikaji secara kuantitatif. Hasilnya menunjukkan bahwa koefisien korelasi populasi setelah dikoreksi dengan jumlah sampel atau sebesar 0,622. Mengacu pada interval kepercayaan sebesar 95%, batas penerimaannya antara 0,359 < < 0,885. Dengan demikian hasil perhitungan sebesar 0,622 berada pada batas penerimaan. Berdasarkan hasil ini maka dapat disimpulkan bahwa hipotesis yang menyatakan adanya hubungan antara TQM dan kinerja organisasi dapat diterima. Abstract

Product design stages are important to consider critically in production. Generally, product design that shall be created by designer, should consider what the customer wants and needs. Nowadays issues, product design does not only consider the “wants and needs” of user, but also how the design can be created by embedding sustainability aspects in the product. Culture is also one of the important aspects which need to be considered in product design as culture affects the way users respond to the product. This paper aims to develop a new model for design development, in which the aspects of culture are incorporated into sustainable product design. By reviewing the existing literature, the authors attempt to identify the gaps of the existing papers, which illustrate how culture affects sustainable product design. Recent papers have only shown that culture influences product design, but they do not explore sustainability and the culture aspects in product design. Due to these gaps, it is therefore important to create a model which will assist designers to elicit sustainable product design based on cultural aspects. In summary, designers need to reflect on the “wants and needs” of users. The framework presented in this paper can be integrated into designers’ and companies’ decision-making during product design development. Abstract

Biocomposite material is a common material used in biomedical application. One of medical problems related to bone restoration which caused by accidents and injuries resulted in fracture bone parts. Biocomposite (Sagoo/PMMA) is being developed as a solution to solve that particular problem. In current research, tensile and flexural strength of sagoo/PMMA is tested and examined. There are correlation between value of tensile strength, value of bending strength, and curing time, with maximum tensile strength and bending strength were achieved by curing the specimen for 12 hours, with the maximum value of tensile strength is 3,337 MPa, and the maximum flexural is 2,653 MPa. The minimum tensile strength was achieved by curing the specimen for 6 hours with minimum value of tensile strength is 1,502 MPa, while the minimum flexural was acquired at curing time for 24 hours with minimum of bending strength is 0,536 MPa

Abstract

Daerah Istimewa Yogyakarta (DIY) mempunyai potensi industri yang cukup tinggi, baik industri kecil, menengah, maupun besar. Namun daya saing produk industri pengolahan di DIY rendah karena beberapa faktor, yakni masih lemahnya keterkaitan antar industri, keterbatasan produksi barang setengah jadi dan komponen di dalam negeri, keterbatasan industri berteknologi tinggi, kesenjangan kemampuan ekonomi antardaerah, serta ketergantungan ekspor pada beberapa komoditas tertentu. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk membuat rancangan konsep kawasan industri berbasis potensi daerah (Domestic Based Industry/ DBI) menggunakan pendekatan sinergi Academic-Business-Government (ABG). Pendekatan ini dilakukan dengan fokus pada pemanfaatan bahan baku, sumber daya manusia, dan pemenuhan permintaan pasar lokal. Hasil kajian ini menghasilkan tiga konsep kawasan DBI yang diusulkan: (i) pengolahan produk turunan salak pondoh di Turi Sleman, (ii) pengolahan zeolit di Gedangsari Gunungkidul, dan (iii) pengolahan limbah produk biogas di Cangkringan Sleman. Ketiga konsep kawasan industri pengolahan tersebut saling terkait dan akan membentuk jejaring yang terintegrasi mulai dari bahan baku hingga produk, baik dengan industri rancangan baru maupun dengan industri yang sudah ada.

Abstract

Ternak domba di Desa Sriharjo masih dipelihara secara tradisional di pekarangan rumah di kandang berlantai tanah. Tujuan dari pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini adalah pendampingan pembuatan kandang domba sehat di Desa Sriharjo, Kecamatan Imogiri, Kabupaten Bantul. Mitra kegiatan pengabdian adalah 30 peternak anggota kelompok ternak Taruna Tani Hijaunya Cinta, desa Sriharjo. Kegiatan yang dilakukan meliputi sosialisasi, pelatihan, studi banding dan dilanjutkan pendampingan peternak membangun kandang sehat. Pemahaman masyarakat terhadap kandang sehat diukur melalui wawancara serta pengisian kuesioner sebelum dan sesudah pengabdian. Hasil pengabdian ini adalah peternak telah berhasil membangun kandang panggung percontohan yang berlokasi di pekarangan yang tidak terlalu dekat dengan rumah penduduk. Hasil survey menunjukkan bahwa sebelum PKM sebanyak 10% dan setelah PKM semua (100%) peternak memahami tentang pengertian dan manfaat kandang sehat. Disimpulkan bahwa kandang domba sehat telah berhasil dibangun dan fungsinya telah dimengerti oleh semua peternak domba di desa Sriharjo.

Abstract

The research of deposition process is the first step in development process of multi materials selective laser sintering. The deposition process enables to settle multi materials powder in horizontal formation on one layer. In this research we use low frequency (70 - 200Hz) to vibrate a hopper nozzle in which powder is settled. The research method consists of two steps, the first step is to determine flow-ability parameters and the second is to join flow ability parameter with other parameters such that the line width can be controlled. The results show that the line width depends on uniformity of particle size, particle size, frequency of vibration, deposition gap, particle shape and feed-rate of hopper-nozzle.

Abstract

Layer manufacturing process has proven as a process that can produce a high complexity mechanical part. Now, Improvement of LM methods continuously conduct that is aimed to increase precessions and efficiency of these processes. Pressure filament deposition modelling is a form of layer manufacturing process that is designed to produce a plastic part with controlling its semisolid phase. In this research, the equipment of filament depositor is designed and tested to make the product filament deposition. With operation condition observation, the optimal temperature and pressure of deposition process was determined. These experiments used PVC as crystalline material and polypropylene as amorphous material. To optimize this process, the tensile strength and density test were conducted. The shape of tensile test specimens is based on ASTM 638 standard and made in 3 orientations deposition path, namely: in 0 degree, 45 degree and 90 degree from load force axis. To found the most accurate dimension, controlling the time delay, temperature of build part, feeding speed and variation deposition path was conducted. The results of experiments show that the filament deposition method can only be applied for amorphous material in which it has a semisolid phase. From the tensile strength test, the binding strength among filaments is 0.5 kg/mm2, 20% of the tensile strength of filament. And the density of a sample product, which used the filament diameter of 0.8 mm, is 0.7668 g/cm3. Accuracy of product dimension can be increased by: controlling time delay in location where the motion orientation of hopper filament is changed and controlling temperature of build part surface.
